Lake Lured Away | Game Room & Grill

***THE PRIVATE DOCK IS TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE AND PENDING CONSTRUCTION. COMPLETION DATE TBD.***

Get lured away at this relaxing lakeside cottage in beautiful Lake Lure. Lake Lured Away will be your summer haven where you can enjoy swimming, canoeing, nearby hiking, and more. Tucked away at the end of a quiet cove and across the street from the lake and private dock, the home will offer guests tranquil mornings out on the balcony and peaceful evenings eating alfresco out on the patio. While the home has everything you'll need for your stay, including a full kitchen, game room with a ping pong table and card table, Wi-Fi, and outdoor grill, you'll spend all your time outside on the spacious, upper-level deck with picturesque views of the lake and mountain peaks. There's a swimming ladder for easy access into the water, along with a canoe that is permitted by the Town of Lake Lure. Also, your furry 4-legged friends will love the fenced backyard.

Conveniently located on the northern side of Lake Lure, you're less than 10 minutes to Chimney Rock Village and the Lake Lure Community Beach & Water Park. Grab a decadent breakfast from Medina's Bistro before heading across the street to Chimney Rock State Park. When you're done taking in the views, head back into the Village to shop local boutiques and gift shops and unwind with a glass of wine at Burntshirt Vineyards and Bistro. Asheville is a 45-minute drive from Lake Lured Away and is perfect for a day trip to explore this culturally diverse and unique city. While in town, schedule a tour of the Biltmore Estate and explore the exquisite grounds and special exhibits.

PLEASE NOTE: Lake Lured Away has a staircase that leads to its private dock on the lake, but the home itself is located across the street from the lake. This home is pet-friendly with an additional pet fee. Wireless Internet is extremely limited due to the connectivity of the provider, and cell phone service is not guaranteed. This home has central AC on the main level and localized mini splits in the upper-level bedrooms. This home has a 7-day minimum stay requirement (Saturday-Saturday) during the summer months.

Lake Lured Away is subject to specific regulations and guidelines enforced by Lake Lure. Certain types of watercraft are prohibited, and ALL watercraft (motorized and non-motorized) must obtain and display a permit issued by the town to be on the lake. Renters do not have access to the boat storage beneath the deck. Also, from November to March, Lake Lure lowers water levels to about 12 ft. below normal levels.

Lake Lured Away was great
We had a great time at this property. The actual property itself is beautiful and very spacious with plenty of parking. It is not exactly on the lake, which I feel was a tad bit misleading, however, it is a very short walk down a private walkway to their dock, which is on the lake. The upper deck of the boathouse was very comfortable, lots of shade and seating.. The boathouse itself had lots of toys and floats that we and the kids got a ton of use out of! The house itself is very spacious with plenty of room. It’s very comfortable. The only negative feedback I would have is that one of the upper bedrooms on the top level did have a dog urine scent to it which is probably unavoidable in a property that allows dogs. Otherwise the individual air units in each bedroom worked wonderfully and we were nice and cool the entire time. We would definitely return to this house in the future!

A beautiful, tranquil vacation
This was one of the best trips we've had in a while. Lake Lure is such an underrated gem, and it'd be great to keep it that way. We had coffee on the porch in the mornings, watched bunnies in the yard in the afternoons, played ping pong and games in the basement and played card games upstairs. We used the canoe and kayak and were treated to some of the best lake views as soon as we paddled out of our cove. We'd been to Lake Lure before, but we will definitely stay at this home again. In addition to the views and the overall lovely home, Greybeard Rentals was far and away amazing. We had an issue with another home's teenagers trespassing on our dock, and the team immediately jumped into action and handled everything exceptionally well, even though it was after hours for them. Thank you for an exceptional start to the summer. We will definitely be back.

Hidden gem of Lake Lure
The property and grounds are a mature sanctuary! It’s so rare to have level yard, vegetation, lake front with a dock. It was the perfect retreat for our family. While it’s an older home, the accommodations were comfortable, kitchen well equipped for cooking, and we enjoyed both the charcoal grill and solo stove. The double deck/dock were thoroughly enjoyed, with plenty of toys, floats and life jackets! Only suggestion would be to check/replace the kayak straps that are broken on both the 1 and 2 seater. We will definitely return!

Easter Break 2023
The house was very clean and the neighborhood was quiet and it would be a perfect spot if we would have been able to enjoy the lake activities as advertised. We rented this place on the lake for our family including 3 teenagers to enjoy the amenities that a lake has to offer. Imagine our surprise when we arrived and discovered that the lake level had been lowered in January for repairs and we did not have access to the kayak, canoe, or paddleboard. It was very disappointing for the family. It would have been nice if we had been informed of this when booking so we could have made other arrangements. We were told by neighbors that the lake level will be lowered every Jan for several years to fix the sewer pipes, so future renters should be informed if they plan on utilizing the lake activities. Also I would recommend someone check the unit before renters arrive as when we arrived, 2 smoke detectors were going off and there were no replacement batteries so we had to find a grocery store at night (in an area where we were unfamiliar). We tried calling Greybeard however the cell phone service was poor and would not let calls go out. We did enjoy the ping pong table and hiking. This would be a great place if the lake had water!!

Amazing house for family time
We stayed for the Christmas holiday to be near family. The house easily accommodated the 8 of us. We enjoyed the first floor family room with TV. Unfortunately it was too cold to hang out downstairs to play games or ping-pong (would have been nice if it was wamer and there was a TV down there as well). The house was amazing the view was spectacular. The last day warmed up enough to even enjoy the outside abit. Very close to Chimney Rock Village which was nice go visit. We cooked all meals in the galley kitchen which was well equipped with plenty of dishes,.pots, pans etc. The oven seemed slightly low in temperature vs the setting so we needed to drastically adjust some of our cooking times. As indicated by management cell service and internet was very very limited. Which made it difficult to stay connected to work related items that we needed to attend to while away. Overall our stay was great and we would certainly stay again if the opportunity presents itself.

Disappointing stay
We were so excited about visiting this house, and the communication with the property managers was excellent. But there were several problems that made it difficult to enjoy our weekend. First, my husbands foot went right through the rotting wood on the dock. He was lucky to escape with cuts and splinters - he could have broken his ankle. Second, the air conditioning did not work. It was so hot and humid in the house that all of bread got moldy - no bagels or toast for breakfast. Third, there were so many ants in the kitchen. The trash can did not have a lid and there was a long line of ants up the wall from the trash through the pantry. The heat, the ants and my husbands worry that someone else would fall through the dock made it a very disappointing weekend for us.

Relaxing in the mountains
We had our dogs, mother in law, 3 adult kids, 2 daughter in laws & 1 grand baby. This house plenty of room to spread our all be together. Plenty of outdoor seating. We loved have our own dock to swim & fish from. Every bedroom has its own thermostat!!! More than ample supplies for all of us. My only suggestion is if you have a little one bring baby gate to keep them off the stairs. That is a personal need and did not discourage us to want to return.

Comfortable and spacious with beautiful views
My family went to celebrate our mothers 70th birthday. We loved the house. It had everything we needed and the views and landscaping were stunning. The living room was so comfortable and we spent a lot of time lounging there. We also loved the proximity to so many fun things to do. We definitely hope to visit again.

Lured Away is Pet and Family Friendly
Rambling lake view house with lakefront dock is family and pet-friendly. Spacious, comfy three-story floorpans provides ample quiet and social spaces. Watch boaters from the two-story dock or put your pooch in the big red canoe and explore Lake Lure. Loved the short drive to Black Mountain and Hendersonville. Wi-Fi wasn't always reliable, but other than that, a sweet summer getaway!
