We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin on the lake! The cabin had lots of character, and was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed some of the amenities to include kayaks and the fire pit by the lake. The cabin was very close to Camden and Rockport which we explored during the day. Excellent communication with the host. Would definitely recommend!
Everything was as expected. A pond front cottage with lots of equipment for various water activities. The gas grill was nice as we could prepare a number of meals at home. Without question, this property has the best bathroom I have ever experienced in renting properties around Norton’s Pond. I think anyone would enjoy a stay at this property.
This was our third time in this wonderful location, on a clean and sunny lake, great dock, lots of room to hang out. Walkable road and a short drive or Kayak to Lincolnville General Store with fresh pizzas, coffee and essentials. Stephanie was a great host, attentive and helpful. Thank you!
We loved our quick trip to this property. The location was perfect, the boat house fully stocked with fun lake toys and despite our rainy forecast we had the best time! Check in and check out was smooth sailing and the house was prepped with everything we needed. Thanks so much!
This cottage brings you back in time to vintage Maine. Loved the sleeping porch and listening to the waves lapping the shore. Very well stocked kitchen and plenty of dry wood for the fire pit.
Loved this rustic peaceful getaway in Maine! Between the sleeping porch and the perfect water, we were happy as clams and loons! Thanks for a great weekend.
My boyfriend and kids were looking to get away, unplug, and unwind. This cozy little gem provided us with that and more. This camp provides the best of both words; lake life and ocean life. We woke up each day to loons and geese galore. My kids loved the porch arrangement and fell asleep listening to them and the barn owls each night. We made good use of the firepit for quality family time in the evenings, roasting smores and enjoying eachother. Kayaking around Norton Pond is an absolute must!!! It is beautiful beyond words. We were minutes from the ocean, Lincolnville public beach being the closest but many little gems along Rt.1. I read the previous reviews and our last night we ordered pizza from the general store, it was probably some of the best gluten free pizza I have ever had. Communication with owner was fabulous. We unfortunately got a little lost dispite being warned that GPS is wonky in the area, and using the suggested modification to put into google maps. Next time I would put in the Drake Corner Store and then the property address. Google maps was definitely wonky out there. We would 10 out of 10 recommend and will try and return next summer if there is availability. Truly a perfect location.
Loved this house, such a perfect spot. Great house layout, clean, well supplied. The dock is right on the lake with clear water, we rented kayaks and paddled over to the lovely Lincolnville store (where they have everything, even pizza kitchen for takeout). It was quiet with little boat noise, just loons and the sounds of people enjoying summer.
I’ve been looking for a place like this since I had my first child (12 years ago!). I wanted to share with them the vacations I had as a kid. My checklist is short but still not easy to find. A lake with a way to swim from the backyard of the cabin. (This was the hardest to find but it’s at this property! The water is deep enough off the dock that the kids couldn’t touch but they used life jackets and we had a blast swimming all day.)
Second is a real cabin. Like thin walls, may or may not have hot water flickering lights and the whole nine. This was perfect. It does have hot water which I never had as a kid.
And lastly is the distance to neighboring cabins. This was perfect. You can see them through the trees but you aren’t on top of one another.
We loved our stay and hope to go back again.
Great spot for a get away with our family. Well equipped camp to live in for the week. We cooked all of our meals there inside or on the grill, except pizza from the general store one night. Beds and bedding were comfortable. Owners were quick to communicate about any questions we had. Will stay again!
Clean!! No smell of smoke or pets. We enjoyed our stay so much. Every night the loons would sing their song and the lake is very clean. We didn’t get to swim in the lake since we were out most of the day. The owner takes great care to ensure this cabin is clean which was greatly appreciated. We really enjoyed the authenticity of the camp . The charming feel of a true Maine camp has been maintained.
The owners were very accommodating. Every little detail from easy access to the cottage, to all the amenities (pillows, sheets, blankets, towels provided, all kitchen items, toiletries in case you forgot, bandaids and bug spray, board games and a small boombox radio).
Cottage was very clean and the grounds were beautiful.
Looking forward to staying here again in the future.
The hosts were great. I enjoyed myself. The house was a bit rundown (broken window, old carpet, etc...) but that didn't bother me. My GPS did NOT get me there and in fact was very confusing. I recommend the hosts clarify that for future renters. I enjoyed paddling the lake, seeing the loons, and just hanging out.
We enjoyed the peaceful beauty of this stay. The camp itself is genuine vintage style but comfortable and being cared for. We appreciate the old places being rescued! We enjoyed eagles, loons, families of geese, local fare and visiting relatives. This is a lakeside gem hidden in Lincolnville Maine.
Our trip was specifically to fish the lake this cabin is located on. It’s late September and both the lake and the neighborhood were very quiet. The owners of the camp were very helpful and accommodating both before and during the trip. Cabin was rustic as indicated in the listing but was clean and well stocked with all the necessary items like linens, towels, kitchenware etc. we saw lots of wildlife and enjoyed the rest and relaxation.
