Place is beautiful but be sure to arrive before dark
Ok, so the place is architecturally stunning (if you like minimalism as we do) and in a beautiful setting. However, we arrived after dark and there were no exterior lights on whatsoever and it made our arrival quite difficult finding our way in the very dark of a winter night. This beautiful property is located in a rural area with very little ambient lighting (or cell service including on my French (Orange) phone for that matter. We discovered the day after our arrival when we returned to civilization that the property manager sent access instructions via an app about 90 minutes prior to our arrival. So, finding the unit and the lock box for the unit was a challenge. Then, there were no property instructions-including how to access the internet or use the induction cooktop. However, there are instructions telling you that there is a limit to how warm or cold you are permitted to set the thermostat as well several laminated posters requesting a five star rating posted throughout the property. (By the way, we visited in December and the place was freezing when we arrived and took some time to warm up.) The whole experience was just weird. I will say, however, that the bed was one of the more comfortable beds I have ever experienced in a vacation rental and for that I was very grateful. It is apparent that this is a new rental unit and the managers need some tutoring on when and how to communicate with guests and provide instructions to make the guests comfortable.
