This exquisite vacation home is located in a quiet setting in the countryside, 1 km from Riom-ès-Montagnes, in the heart of the Volcans d'Auvergne Natural Park.

This very beautiful stone building is spacious and bright and awaits you in a quiet setting in the heart of an old farm with exposed stone walls and magnificent parquet floors.

Here you are 30 km from the largest volcano in Europe, the Puy Mary (1787 m).

Your accommodation was part of a cheese farm dating back to 1929 and was renovated in 2007. Riom is known for its production of Cantal and Bleu d'Auvergne. Salers cows are also raised here and their delicious meat is known all over the world. In addition, every year in July, a delicious gentian liqueur is produced. This flower, gave its name to the picturesque train that takes you to Lugarde through magnificent panoramas on a route dotted with tunnels and viaducts.

The landscape consists of forests, lakes and waterfalls. A paradise for fishermen and hikers. Walkers can choose from 150 km of signposted routes, on foot, on horseback or by mountain bike. The most experienced can reach the top of Puy Mary to observe the 7 glacial valleys. The less motivated can stroll along the river that crosses the town.

Every Saturday morning, a small market is held in Les Halles, which twice a month expands its stalls in the streets of the town center, for even more tradition and conviviality.

Vraiment a améliorer

Maison a fort potentiel mais louée avec un ménage approximatif, literie des 3 grands lits hors d'usage, absence de sommier, matelas posés directement sur planches en composite, couettes usées et tachées....! Electricité miroir salle de bain très dangereuse ( il faut visser les ampoules à la main pour avoir l'éclairage...)

2/10 Terrible

Décevant, indigne d'un 3 étoiles !

Nous avons loué cette maison du 6 au 20 août 2016 et nous tenons à signaler les points suivants : La maison est en effet bien placée, dans un cadre très agréable et une région magnifique Elle est indiquée "catégorie 3 étoiles", avec le prix qui va avec, car c'est une des locations les plus chères que j'avais trouvées dans la région ! Or le confort est des plus rudimentaires, bien loin de ce qu'on est en droit d'attendre d'un 3 étoiles ! La literie est déplorable : 3 grands lits avec des planches de novopan sur les sommiers et des matelas à ressorts qui vous transpercent le dos. Même en refuge, on trouve des lits plus confortables ! Les deux lits de 90 étaient très mous Devant apporter les draps, j'avais demandé la taille des lits, qu'on m'a indiquée, tout en précisant qu'il y avait des couettes...sans me donner leurs dimensions. Or il y avait une couette de 220x240, une de 200x200, et trois de 140x200 (donc pour trois lits d'une personne !! ) Difficile d'apporter les bons draps ! Pour en finir avec la literie, les alèses sont plastifiées, ce qui est très inconfortable car on transpire beaucoup L'équipement de la cuisine est pour le moins sommaire. La maison est louée pour 8, mais il y a 6 assiettes, 6 couteaux à dents, 6 fourchettes, 6 grandes cuillères et 6 petites cuillères. Difficile de recevoir des amis à dîner ou déjeuner ! Pas de couteau à pain, ce qui n'est pas pratique pour couper le gros pain de campagne de la boulangerie de Riom es montagnes, pas de petit couteau de cuisine (sans dents), une grande casserole pas terrible, un petit fait-tout bien pour deux personnes, une poêle en mauvais état Pas de grille-pain, du coup on fait griller le pain dans le four, ce qui arrive, mais il n'y a pas de maniques pour ne pas se brûler en sortant les plats du four Un plat à four trop petit pour 8 personnes On se dit qu'on se contentera de pâtes et il n'y a même pas de râpe à fromage ! Comme nous avions compris que le propriétaire habitait loin, à 1h30 de voiture, et qu'il devait revenir le lendemain de notre arrivée, je m'étais permis, avec les précautions d'usage, de lui demander quelques objets par sms pour le déranger le moins possible Il m'a agressée le dimanche matin avec une grossièreté inouïe, ce qui est totalement inadmissible !
