Exceeded Expectations!
This casita was perfect for us! I loved everything about it! Charming + + +, inside & out. Well stocked kitchen. Excellent appliances. (I didn't even miss having a dryer. I'd forgotten how nice it was to line dry laundry!) Incredible views in all directions. Quiet! Dark skies = Incredible starry nights! Perfect area for exploring National & state parks & numerous wonderful BLM areas. All within a couple of hours drive. We made scenic drives into Moab area OFTEN to explore ancient rock art & check out incredible rock formations. Willy was incredibly nice and gave us many tips for local adventures.

Better than expected
I'm in love with the Cozy Adobe. The setting is spectacular. The southwest adobe house with it's open floor plan and artsy styling fits my aesthetic perfectly. This was a rare case of a place actually exceeding the expectations I had formed from the description. I loved my month in the Castle Valley and the Cozy Adobe; and am likely to be a repeat customer.

A dream.
This home is nothing short of incredible. We stayed at the Cozy Adobe for a month, exploring everything the area had to offer. Castle Valley is perfectly secluded, and driving distance from Arches and Canyonlands. We never minded the 45 min drive to Moab, because the views on the way were spectacular. After a long hike, nothing was better than relaxing on the porch. This home is perfect for social distancing—we only saw one or two other people in Castle Valley in our full month. Willy was a wonderful host, always there to answer our questions. We look forward to planning our next trip back.

Looking for serenity in a spectacular landscape?
From the moment I checked in the care and attention to detail at this property were readily apparent. The owners take pride in providing a nicely appointed home and a hassle-free experience with everything you may need right on the premises. The views from this home are incredible. Five major parks are within an hour driving distance. The city of Moab is very friendly and has all the usual shopping/dining conveniences. I stayed at this property for an entire month and never tired of the wonderful views that surround the house in every direction. Highly recommended for anyone looking to get away from the hussle and bustle of the daily grind!

A Gem in Castle Valley!!!!
We absolutely loved our stay (Jan 26-Feb 22, 2017) at the Cozy Adobe. Willy has created a beautiful place for guests. We have used many VRBOs over that last many years, never disappointed with our selections and Willy's met and exceeded our expectations. The location of the Cozy Adobe was perfect for us...such solitude and beauty all around and just a 20-30 minute drive east of Moab via Scenic Byway 128...always a thrill and never got tired of this beautiful Colorado River/canyon drive. Our vistas from the adobe were spectacular....Porcupine Rim out the back and Castle Rock, the Priests and Nuns, the Red Hills, La Sal Mtns and more out the front, including early morning and evening visits from many mule deer :) The place was very well appointed and we found cooking at home, in such beautiful setting, to be great fun. We made good use of the slow-cooker and had some great meals waiting for us after a day of hiking and exploring in the Moab and Castle Valley area. Right away the Cozy Adobe felt like a second home to us. When we had questions Willy was quick to reply. There were the great reference materials and books provided, which we appreciated and used a lot. Willy's had some suggestions for hikes (Fisher Towers, Granstaff Canyon and Hidden Valley) - all five-star for us. We already miss the adobe - it is truly "cozy" with great access to so many daily adventures at nearby Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, Dead Horse State Park, backroads, local trailheads and more. We hope to be back for another stay in the near future. Thank you Willy for sharing your lovely place with us! Karen and Nino, White Bear Lake, MN

Fantastic!!!
What a fantastic month at the Cozy Adobe! The house was comfortable as was the bed. Scenery was amazing with the Red Hills at one end of the valley, snow capped LaSal Mountains at the other, Porcupine Ridge behind and Castle Rock and Priest & Nuns directly across!! Driving anywhere included the beautiful drive on Route 128 along the Colorado River! Saw mule deer and foxes right outside the house. Arches, Canyonlands, LaSal Mountain Loop Road, horseback riding, hiking and golf were just a few of the activities we enjoyed in the area. Relaxing (including the hot tub), private, romantic, revitalalizing are a few of the words that come to mind :) We miss it already😢. Highly recommend!!!

Great getaway
This is a wonderful property to "get away from it all". The Cozy Adobe is on the slope up Porcupine Rim, facing Castle Valley, with awesome views of Castle Rock, Priest and Nuns, and LaSal Mountains. It's perfect for a couple. Another couple joined us for a weekend and it worked just fine, but is really suited for 2 persons (one bathroom, no bedroom wall). The house is really cared for and nicely furnished and decorated. There are many fantastic hiking trails within a short drive, such as Fisher Tower and Amphitheater trails. We really enjoyed the Chiminea and fire pit. The fire pit was a great grill for burgers, salsiccia, and steaks. We really enjoyed our visit.

Fantastic holidays in an extraordinary location
Everything we hoped for when renting this location was even better in reality. The Cozy Adobe is such a marvelous place to stay. The home is extraordinary beautiful, all details fit - and the surrounding landscape is really a wonderful dream! We enjoyed every day of our fantastic holidays in cozy adobe with so many opportunities of great outdoor activities. Perfect location, better than photos inside
We have rented quite a few homes over the years, and this is truly special. Whether the owner is an interior decorator or just has good taste, every detail, every artwork, every plant is thoughtfully placed. Fixtures, furnishings, and kitchenware are high quality and well chosen. And each window holds gorgeous views while retaining complete privacy. There are great spaces inside and out to relax, contemplate, or socialize. The home is roomier inside than the photos suggest - very spacious for a couple (which we are), but manageable with a family or close friends. There is a regard for the environment throughout, from the top-shelf solar systems (PV and hot water) to the lighting, heating, and water systems. And the hot tub was sleeping at 85 when we arrived - only a couple hours from full temp. There really is nothing else like it that I could find in Moab - and I have to say I was a bit reluctant to add another glowing review for fear that it will not be available next time. But this house and the owner deserve it. Enjoy! We certainly have, and are looking forward to a longer stay next time. Thank you Willy!

Piece of Paradise
The Cozy Adobe is a warm, welcoming, comfortable abode that truly is a "home-away-from-home". It's owners have taken every measure to ensure that it is well equipped and that its occupants lack for nothing. The setting high up on 5 natural rugged acres, overlooks the green pastures of Castle Valley, encompassed by red cliffs and blue skies. Three sets of double glass doors & 13 large windows provide amazing views and vistas in all directions. The outdoor hot tub was ideal for tired bodies, and for star gazing in the cool/cold evening darkness. South-east Utah and the Moab area is an outdoor recreation Mecca, offering a myriad of recreational activities in a spectacular setting. Our October stay combined daytime activity with evening rest & relaxation. The October weather (sunny & pleasant) was perfectly suited to hiking, biking, golfing, horseback riding, river rafting, jet boating and scenic drives. The town of Moab offered numerous festivals and community cultural events for week-end and evening entertainment. The Moab/Castle Valley libraries provided access to books & DVD's for evening viewing. The frequent drive from Moab to Castle Valley on SR128, followed alongside the Colorado River, through a red cliff canyon, with spectacular scenery that never ceased to amaze. Our expectations heading into this visit were high...the reality surpassed those expectations. Thanks for a wonderful month in a marvelous setting, and for the opportunity to experience and enjoy this piece of paradise.

The Cozy Adobe nestled in Castle Valley was a memorable experience. The 16 mile drive along the Colorado River eventually opening up to the Red Cliff Lodge and Castle Rock Winery was only a glimpse at what was to lay ahead when we first saw Castle Valley and our home for the month. The natural landscape and the warmth of the decor immediately made it feel like home. The Adobe had all you could want for comfort and convenience. The Adobe was clean and well maintained and the owner was helpful and quick to respond when needed. We had very dynamic weather.....sun, rain, thunder, lightning, hail, snow and more sunshine during our stay. We enjoyed the full moon while sitting in the hot tub with a glass of wine in hand and the stars at night were incredible. Evenings were so quiet...... only the occassional distant gobble of turkeys or barking dog. We spent many days hiking in Arches and Canyon Lands. Enjoyed our trips into Moab to pick up movies, or have dinner at several of the restaruants as well as the Moab Brewery. We were eager to get back to our home but sad to leave what had become our home. Without reservation we would recommend the Cozy Adobe.

Where To Begin...
The Moab area was a revelation to my husband and me, but I'll begin with the Cozy Adobe itself. It certainly is cozy, but feels spacious. It is lovely, but well thought out, so easy to get settled into. Photos cannot really capture the place or its surroundings. The kitchen was fun to work in, lots of space, utensils, appliances, and supplies. I loved the energy saving dishwasher and clothes washer. Everything was spotless and well maintained everywhere, inside and out. Coming home to our Cozy Adobe after our outside adventures was a pleasure. The drive on 128 to and from hiking/biking added to that pleasure. The hot tub at night under the stars.... The house has three sets of double glass doors and numerous windows, which I kept open all the time when I was home. I didn't want to miss one minute of seeing my surroundings, stunning, every view. We are avid hikers and road bikers (easy roads), had the absolute best hikes of our lives. I would recommend, if you have the time and inclination, a drive to the Needles part of Canyonlands and doing the Chesler Park Loop/Joint Trail. Wonderful, stunning (I need new words, I think.) An absolute favorite was Fisher Towers, right up the road. A hidden treasure was Professor Creek, not really marked, make a right on a dirt road (Ranch Road) a little before Fisher Towers. Your feet will get wet, and it will feel great on a hot day, and you will end up in a slot canyon with a waterfall. We drove to Potash Road/U279 parked, and road our bikes on the road. Beautiful ride along the Colorado River, you can stop and hike Corona Arch if you want, watch rock climbers, just a nice day. Arches, Canyonlands, Dead Horse Point, Behind the Rocks, 128, everywhere is a good place to be. I know I would not have enjoyed this month as much if I stayed right in Moab. (My favorite place to eat there was the Wake & Bake Cafe.) I biked around Castle Valley, a little on La Sal Loop, visited the library and Bed and Breakfast, wine tasted (of course) at Red Cliffs Lodge/Castle Creek Winery, and took walks. If you are lucky enough to stay at the Cozy Adobe, you will experience so much, the national parks nearby, sun rises behind the rocks with crazy colors (right from the front porch), the mountains, peace and beauty. I miss it and hope to return.

Wonderful
We have spent a lot of time in the Moab area over the years. Cozy Adobe ranks right up there with our best experiences. The house is just that, cozy. And warm and wonderfully set up with just about everything you need for a month' stay. The setting is spectacular! And though you are surrounded by neighbors, you get the feeling that you are secluded. The junipers and the fact that the house backs up to the Porcupine Rim give you the feeling that you are back in Castle Valley before the developers came. February is a great time in SE Utah. No crowds, a mix of weather, great hikes on slick rock and up canyons, winter activities in the La Sals, which by the way are just at the end of the Valley and in Cozy Adobe's viewshed, and 2 National Parks nearby. The drive along the river is pretty nice too. A wonderful winter break.

Wonderful Second Stay
It had been two years to the month since our first stay at the Cozy Adobe. We were excited to return, and it was just like returning to our "home". All month we enjoyed the surrounding area, and especially our retreat, with everything we needed for just a lazy day at "home". The owners are wonderful in their attention to detail. We look forward to our return in two years.

Paradise reloaded
What about stargazing, taking in the incredible beauty of milky way over a really dark earth, while sitting in a hot tub? Will you spot the grey fox that lives on property and behaves like a landlord? What to do with the six-point-buck and his family, who like this one bush along the path? Admire them or shoo them away? Castle Valley is a secluded wonderful old fashioned place to stay, and the Cozy Adobe is one of the gems of the valley. As in 2010 we spent again a month at this wonderful house in this wonderful region. Traveling Grand County for more then 20 years we are still detecting new places of incredible beauty around Castle Valley. Thank you, Willy, for letting us stay in this beautiful hideaway, perfectly equipped for a couple and very well stocked. Again we felt at home the very moment we crossed the door. We will try to come back.

Excellent place with which to start a new year
I spent January 2012 at Cozy Abode and thoroughly enjoyed it. Willy answered all my questions beforehand, the directions were detailed, and the house was immaculate, even stocked with food that you would replace when supplies were low. I got into a routine of having morning devotions by the high tech wood stove, watching the sun rise over the beautiful red cliffs. Next it was breakfast in the well-stocked kitchen, and off to hike in Arches and Canyonlands NPS, and around Moab. I also enjoyed reading in the award winning Moab Library, shopping at City Market, and trying some of the restaurants that were open. Then it was back to the Adobe to catch the sun shining on the cliffs as it set. At night I enjoyed walking up the dirt road to enjoy the bright stars and full moon. Except for occasional barking dogs in the distance, it was completely quiet. Then I finished the night with a dip in the hot tub, again enjoying the night sky, especially during the full moon. I appreciated Willy's commitment to the environment as evidenced by her solar panels and low water dishwasher and washing machine. I even tried out the "solar dryer" in the bright blue sky. Even though it was chilly at night (usually in the teens or 20s) it quickly warmed to the 40s and 50s during the day. It snowed twice during my stay (minimal) and was cloudy only one day. I also enjoyed renting some DVDS that were filmed around Moab, and could see some of the scenery in the movies from Cozy Adobe. Not having a TV was no problem for me, since I don't have one back home in Montana. I enjoyed the solitude and reading by the wood stove, as I also do at home. I hosted a couple from back home for 5 days, and they also thorougly enjoyed the Adobe. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet, sunny, and relaxing getaway in a clean and well-maintained home that has everything. I hope to return in another month. Thanks, Willy, for your hospitality.

My husband and I bought the Cozy Adobe from a friend in 2008. My husband is a biomedical engineer with his own consulting company, and I am a physical therapist. We have a daughter, who shares our love of Castle Valley with its beautiful red rock and gorgeous views. We hope to live in our home ourselves sometime in the future. In the meantime, we like to share it with those with a passion for the outdoors.

Why they chose this property

For years we traveled to Moab several times each year to camp, bike, boat, hike and visit our friend, who built the Cozy Adobe in 1993. Each time we saw her, we admired her home because of the views, the location and the way it blends in with the landscape. When we had the opportunity to buy it we could not pass it up.

What makes this property unique

The Cozy Adobe is nestled next to a to a dry arroyo, which gives it privacy, while maintaining its fantastic view of Castle Tower. We added our own interior touches to make it feel warm, bright and welcoming. To minimize impact on the environment, we installed a solar hot water and solar PV system (grid tie) which offsets 100% of our energy needs and makes it a great place to stay for those who are interested in living 'green'.
