About this property

Two Bedroom in Walkable Downtown Lafayette

Have a sweet stay at the Sweetbay Lafayette's suites!

Great location, easily walk to downtown alive, art walk, and festivals! Wonderfully conveniently located between Buchanan Heights and Cite des Arts.

Enjoy all the charm of an old 1950s craftsman style house with all of the comforts of a brand new luxury condo. Built in armoire, cedar doors, newly refinished original hardwood floors, some rooms with 10 foot plus ceilings, but also Serta and Beautyrest mattresses and pillow tops on the three queen sized beds, brand new subway tiled shower, tons of original and local artwork, washer and dryer conveniently in bathroom, brand new tile in kitchen, bathroom, and living room, all new windows throughout the home, new ceiling fans in each room, central a/c, new sinks, brand new kitchen, freshly painted walls in most rooms, small SMEG-style fridge, Vivant security system, smart wi-fi enabled TVs including Netflix and more, but you won't be watching TV!

Easily walk to Reve coffee for breakfast one morning and Black Cafe for the next morning--this home is conveniently located between them! Walk to the train station, the bookstore, Wild Child Wines, Hub City Cycles, the Children's Museum and Planetarium, Gentry Supply Company, Scratch kitchen, Agave Restaurant, and so much more!

Rarely empty! This is a wonderful spot to spend the night or a few months--whichever suits your lifestyle! The big blue house consists of 3 units. Each is very private. In fact, only Unit B is currently available as the other two have been closed for renovations. This listing is for Unit B, the far left unit of the triplex. Ample parking--a rare find in downtown Lafayette.

Utilities, cable, internet, smart TV stations, security system included in rent. No subletting allowed. Short term rentals are permitted. Pets ARE allowed for a per pet fee.

The apartment has two bedrooms: The Fais Do Do Room and The Mardi Gras Room. The Fais Do Do room (debatably meaning "faire dormir" or "go to sleep" and also refers to a Cajun community dance) has a queen size bed and a small children's couch that converts into a little kid sleep area. This room could not accommodate any more that two adults and two small children. The small sofa would not be comfortable for a teenager or adult. This room has very high ceilings, plenty of closet space but no TV.

The Mardi Gras Room features TWO queen size beds and a built in antique armoire original to the home. A small smart TV hangs on the wall in the corner of the room and a glass top table that could be used for meals, cards, board games, or as a work station. Four adults could sleep in this room, but there would be no privacy between the couples as it is a shared room without dividers.

The living area has a small TV that can pivot for the cook in the kitchen and the guests sitting at the built in bar area to watch TV or enjoy music while they prepare meals or snacks. The kitchen features a custom-made rolling island.

The home has 2 lawn chairs that could be used to sit out during parades or other festivities around the downtown area. This home is on some of Lafayette's Mardi Gras parade routes.

Check in is at 4pm and check out is 11am.

Stay for Festival international
The location of the property was perfect for walking to festival! It was loud at night due to proximity to the street and the volume of traffic in the area. The good outweighed the bad in that aspect in my opinion. The house could've been cleaner. But we were allowed to check in super early, so you win some, you lose some. It worked out ok. The kitchen is well stocked with the exception of a can opener and dish drying rack, but would be an easy addition and we made so fine without them. We very much enjoyed our stay! Thanks Wes!

This property is not ready to be rented, in my opinion. It's a section of an old house on a busy street. The exterior needs repairs and attention: exposed wires, knee-deep weeds, and filthy. The interior is ok, just an old house in need of updating. This neighborhood is loud. There's a nightclub with pounding music all night. The night we stayed there, five police cars with sirens wailing parked right in front of the house, arresting people from the night scene. We got no sleep and we did not feel safe, and left after one day. The hosts were nice, even met us at the door when we checked in. This house has potential, but not ready for rentals yet.

Greatly Appreciated
We feel so blessed to have found this property for our news crew coming from out of state to cover hurricane Ida. The owners had already evacuated the city, but were so helpful in getting us situated and showed concern not only for our safety, but that we had everything we needed. Everything was just as advertised. The crew loved the condo and the location.

We are a Lafayette native couple with two kids, who have moved back to raise our children near family. After traveling the world and staying at plenty of VRBO's ourselves, we are happy to offer a couple of properties to other traveling explorers. Also check out our place in Hawaii if you're ever in that area! We love Lafayette and the unique flavors and lifestyle that can only be found in Cajun country.
