Perfect stay!

We had a great time in this cozy home! It was perfectly situated between all of the things we wanted to do while in Lake Tahoe. Everything was very clean and the fireplace was the PERFECT touch for the first snow day of the season! The neighborhood is quiet and quaint. Would definitely recommend for a couples trip!

Great Cabin

Rating Details: The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very nice and comfortable cabin. Only complaint is that the toilet is very noisy when you flush it and a lightbulb on the ceiling beam needs replacement. We would stay there again!!

Great place for enjoying the lake.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great experience at the rental. Met our needs. Although, there were some light bulbs that were not working and needed replacement. Close to alot of activities: bike riding, beaches, Emerald Bay, etc.

Tahoe

This is a great spot to stay to enjoy the lake, trails and Truckee river. Being in Tahoma it is away from the crowds in Tahoe City.

Tranqulity

Fantastic location and loved the property. The only slight complaint is that there are only two uncomfortable outside chairs on the deck. We would liked to have more comfortable outside seating to accommodate all of us.

Great value near homewood

This was a good value for the price as the location is very convenient to homewood. Our only complaint is the lack of a dishwasher, the loud noises from the heating unit, and the lack of two twins for kids (as opposed to one double in the 2nd bedroom). Otherwise it was clean and nice and I appreciate the quality of the cookware and dishes compared to other units

Tahoma Cottage

Very nice, clean, quiet and close to so much. But, bring a better light bulb or small reading lamp for the living room. Otherwise great.

Family trip to Tahoe

We gather in Homewood with our family every year. We stayed in the Bear's Den in Tahoma which was only 4 miles from our gathering. It is also very close to Meeks Bay, where we met our adult kids and grandkids for the day. The Cabin was perfect for the two of us but would also accomondate another couple or kids if needed. Everything was clean and well stocked with the basics. We would stay there again.

Had everything you needed. Needed a bit of work on the property, following the winter, couple of broken fence panels and the winter shutters still up on one window. Inside the property was fantastic, had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Kitchen was well equipped with all the pans you would need.

Good but could be better

Lovely cottage in a great neighborhood close to Homewood Ski Mountain, local restaurants/markets and a short drive to Tahoe City. Beds were comfortable , bathroom was well stocked with towels etc. Driveway was plowed and could easily accommodate 2 or 3 cars. Checking in was a breeze. A few things that would make the experience better: The kitchen / great room is a great space with soaring soaring ceilings. The challenge is that there was only one heat vent in the ceiling above the cabinets (that we could find) to heat the largest open space in the home. To get adequate heat in that area the back half of the house was too warm. The listing advertised a “coffee maker”, well there is indeed a coffee maker however it is an old school stovetop percolator that I had to Google how to operate. I would have expected a “Cuisinart coffee maker” that is more modern and easily operable. The kitchen also lacked glassware but there were an abundance of spices etc in the cabinets (go figure). Overall a good stay but definitely not worth the price compared to others homes we’ve stayed at in the area this year.

Cozy and Clean - A few amenities missing

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: House is very clean and super comfortable. I had the king bed and it was incredibly comfortable. Had some nice perks like a really good blender and plenty of towels. House is managed by a property management firm. They are response but only during regular business hours and more by email rather than phone or Airbnb app. A few cons: -No wood, matches, kindling, or newspapers were provided -No ice melt provided (bucket was empty) -No non-stick plans and very few pans/pots overall -Driveway was partially plowed but we had to shovel a lot ourselves and our neighbor kindly cleared some power lines that were under snow -No dishwasher (even though listing references one) or standard coffee maker. -Bring your own staples like oil, sugar, coffee, etc. -Without the heat up and fire in wood stove, house is pretty cold because the windows are not double paned and are aluminum.-Check-in was on the later side (4pm) and Checkout on the earlier side (10am)

Customer Service and Winter Safety Issues

While we have enjoyed this property in the past, customer service and winter safety issues have made it so I will not rent from this property management company again. Our anticipated arrival coincided with a severe winter weather warning. We called to ask if we could arrive just one hour earlier so as to avoid being on the summit or on the road in severe weather. The company said they would have to follow protocol and eventually emailed us well after a time that would have allowed us to leave early, meaning we ended up on the road at the worst of the storm. Later, the neighbor informed me that the property had been empty that day, so this was not an issue of cleaning - just disregard for our situation. Second, on arrival at the house we found that no firewood. The house has a heat system, but it was inadequate for the conditions and power was flickering regularly in the storm. Luckily, a kind neighbor provided us with firewood. While I am sure the company will say that it was our decision to travel at such a time and we should have inquired about firewood, a company that manages remote properties in severe winter conditions certainly could demonstrate more care for the safety of its customers. If a severe weather refund is not available, more specific guidance and support to navigate the conditions would have simply been kind and humane. I hope the owners of this lovely property will consider finding a different management company.

Perfect mountain hideaway!

We loved this property so much! The house was nice and clean and up to date. Full kitchen with all the bells and whistles. Close to nice coffee shops and restaurants. Neighbors were friendly and waived or smiled whenever we passed by. Booking/ Check in was a breeze. We would definitely book here again next time we visit.

Great property!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We absolutely loved our stay at the Bear's Den! The home was clean, cozy, and well-decorated. Check in/out was a breeze. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need (heads up, the coffee maker is a French press so plan accordingly). The bed was soooo comfortable and I slept like an angel. The neighborhood is quaint and super close to the lake and all the best hiking. The restaurant around the corner (Dog and the Bear) is awesome and we walked here for dinner twice during our stay. We are already planning our return to this property!

Wonderful except for the false lock

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This rental property was exactly as pictured and very clean. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay including extra cozy blankets and storage Tupperware for leftovers. It is in a great location with plenty to do in Tahoma itself and just 20-40 minute drive to north or south shore if desired. You’ll need to bring your own firewood if you’d like to utilize the fireplace. If you’re planning to dispose of trash frequently, be aware that the outside garbage has a false lock. The street backs up to the national forest and there were bear crossing signs in the neighborhood which made us a bit apprehensive. The garbage is located on the driveway just a stones throw away from the front gate and directly across from our parked car. We were very impressed with the professionalism and responsiveness of the property management group. We felt we could communicate any needs and were met with timely responses.
