Traveling alone and getting to the unit later in the day, I didn’t feel safe staying here. Communication with property manager was great and they were understanding but I won’t be booking again. I travel for work, alone, and being a young woman, I didn’t feel safe checking in here.
For the money, reasonable. Nice floors, fixtures, comfortable bed, linens. Couch not a good sleep, neighbors / neighborhood noisy, faint smoke smell. Bedroom a/c always ran which made sleep easier. Rest of apt ran a little hot. Needs painting but on its way up.

Small apartment in Walnut Hills
This small 1 bedroom apartment is in a n older building, but was just right for what I needed for the weekend. Within walking distance to downtown Cincinnati if you don't mind walking a mile or two. I rate it 4 stars.
We had a very easy time getting into the building. Once we were in it was a very homey space. Everything was in working condition. Not too far of a drive from downtown. Overall a very great experience!!
Air conditioning in bedroom would have been nice but the fans made a world of difference. Close to downtown and Stanley responded quickly to any questions I had. Thank you.
This apartment was not cleaned/maintained well. The kitchen had a urine smell that was noticeable walking in the main door. The bedroom rug was very dirty and clearly had not been vacuumed for a long time. The air conditioning window unit in the bedroom was also dirty and I ended up turning it off because it was making me cough/feel sick. Overall I did not have high expectations considering the low cost but I would not recommend this unit even on a tight budget.

Over all an underwhelming vacation rental experience. This overpriced, tiny apartment was listed as being able to sleep 4. It doesn’t. Expedia indicated the rental was a little over a mile from Xavier University. It’s not . It’s actually closer to 4 miles away from Xavier University . It also was rated 4 out of 5 stars. Who ever gave that unit 4 stars must have been getting high with the across the hall neighbor. No joke . The staircase, hallway and yes, our rental were feted with the unmistakable odor of a very unhappy skunk! The neighbor apparently was a true music lover.! He obviously wanted our family to love his music as much as he did! Evidenced by Extremely loud rap music booming through the walls and throughout our rental until 4:30 AM
We foolishly assumed that the listing indicated 4 guests due to a pullout bed in one of the couches. Nope! So two of our family members slept on a couch and loveseat. Obviously, sleeping on a loveseat is pretty much not sleeping! The Wi-Fi and cable didn’t work “no service “ on the TV. Toilet seat was sliding all over the place and the unit was not very clean. . Also no bedding to speak of for the two who don’t get the queen bed. The place would have been a little better if they were honest about the accommodations. Even still, I wound never go back there.
We wanted to be close to everything and stay in a neighborhood. Walnut Hills is a historical place as well as Eden Park and other neighborhoods. We didn't care about a pool, we had plans for the waterpark close for that. Old building, steep stairs...cute modifications...we looked at the pics and had a great time. Stanley...maybe put a coffee pot and some filters on that shelf in the kitchen. Just as advertised!
Absolute worst vacation rental experience. I inquired about about early check-in + was told it was not able to be accommodated, which was fine. We spent the day nearby and checked in as soon as we could.
When checking in, someone made a comment to the lock box we were looking for. Never said if they were the owner, but it was a little strange that someone standing outside the property noted that to strangers.
Walked in to smoke alarm beeping, multiple half drank drinks in the fridge, dishes needing to be put away, a hand towel that appeared to have been already used hanging, TV not working, to name a few. Bed sheets were ripped/scratched and multiple hairs that belonged to neither my husband or I in the bed. I have a VERY hard time believing this place was cleaned at all prior.
I contacted Stan about the smoke alarm and he suggested pressing the reset button. I had to climb on top of my 6 foot husbands shoulders to do so. It was overall disgusting to be in.
We had to leave shortly after arriving due to the wedding plans we had, our reason for travel. We debated finding a new place but returned too late and slept on top of the covers for the night.
The next day we decided to leave the property and get a hotel due to how dirty the inside of this property was.
We exited the property with our bags and I put the key back in the lock box when moments later, the same stranger who talked with us the day before runs across the street to ask us if we were “good”. Again, no introduction to who they were but also very off putting as it was moments after we exited the property. This was also very off putting as we felt rather watched?
We waited until we got to the hotel we booked and I messaged the host with the issues cited and said we would not be returning. The host apologized and stated he would do "anything he can to make this better." We requested a partial refund, solely for the night we were not going to be staying (not night stayed/cleaning). The host has since ignored multiple messages.
I follow up again today and he took a new tone, only sighting there has not been complaints of cleaning in reviews and the smoke detector was fixed before we got there. He then accused me of not liking "the location and the demographic" of which I take great offense to as he does not know me or anything about me. We had no issues other than cleanliness. This was a horrible stay and an extremely offensive host who had no right to make the accusations he did.
We loved this property for our short stay over the weekend. There were just two of us so the size and location were perfect. We plan to book this property again when we come back.

Nice older apartment in a historic building retrofitted with modern amenities. Had everything we needed for a weekend stay and was within walking distance of the wedding we were attending, along with Eden Park. If you are a light sleeper, know that the bedroom overlooks a busy street. Stan was very nice and has done a great job with this property.
I loved the property itself, it was clean and well kept. My biggest complaint was that the smoke detector beeped throughout my entire stay. It appeared to need new batteries but was unreachable unless by ladder so I contacted the property manager the second morning of my stay. He was very responsive and said he would send someone out to swap the batteries. Unfortunately, this never happened and it continued to beep every minute. There were also no full-sized towels, only hand towels and washcloths.
