1. Problems with the keycode. It took about 30 to 60 minutes to contact the owner.
2. Cleaning crew took keys that should have been in the house, this problem was not solved so I just used the keys in the lockbox.
3. Parking was restricted so the owner told me to park in the adjacent grass lot. The lot had a few large boulders in it and the ground was a bit to negotiate the walk from the grass lot to the back door, particularly since the back door had no lights.
4. As is probably normal, for someone new to a house, the location of the light switcbes and AC unit remotes was confusing. It may be helpful to post some notes about this.
5. The microwave was operational but it was stowed under the counter and i had to lug it to the countertop to use and had to find a plug. I recommend leaving the microwave on the countertop and leaving it plugged in.
6. No dishwasher. Not that big a deal to me (the house was built in 1930) but my wife insisted i wash the dishes before using them. Who knows if the previous tenant washed the dishes thoroughly or if the cleaning crew washes them again. Wife is a bit of a germophobe though.
7. Most of the house is, shall we say 'historical' which is a nice touch but the bearclaw tub was a bit unsafe in my opinion. He tub bottom is mostly curved which makes standing in the shower a bit more 'adventurous' than I would like. There are absolutely no handles to hold on to and the step out of the tub is a larger step than I anticipated. It certainly was not suitable for some the least bit uneasy about balaance (*certainly not suistable for the 80s crowd).
Overall, I was disappointed but the pictures were accurate so I should have thought of these things before I rented.
This place was awesome. So gorgeous (pictures did not do it justice), the host was amazing, the place was so clean and the beds were increasingly comfortable. We had an amazing stay and will stay here again for sure. Thank you Wendy!
