About this property

Hummingbird Hacienda - Beautiful unique house with a taste of wilderness

This is a peaceful little getaway with a lot of options. The home is nestled in the trees right on the Willow Creek Greenbelt, with a trail, ancient trees, and babbling Willow creek. The greenbelt is accessed from the back of the lot. Amidst the beautiful juniper, piñon, and ponderosa pines on the lot are beautiful mountain views from the back yard and the house. It a perfect place to reconnect with nature. There is a very comfortable large living room with stairs to the bedroom that has a peaceful patio for your morning tea or coffee. The living room goes into the kitchen/dining room area and also the bathroom. The property is surrounded by beautiful trees and mountain views from the bedroom. The bedroom is on the second floor and there is a steep staircase (with a sturdy hand rail) to get to it.

Just as described

We have visited the valley and Dunes on several occasions and decided on more than a hotel. Really enjoyed the property, even though we really on spent the nights. A couple of good restaurants in the town. Will use the golf clubs next time! A little "bright" in the morning in the main bedroom, other than that perfect.

Fantastic spot!

This was an absolutely beautiful place to stay and had lots of little things provided that made our trip perfect. Ana was incredibly friendly and made checking in easy! The location was incredible too.

Beautiful

Very clean, well stocked, all the basics. My family enjoyed winding down outside by the fire making s'mores after spending the days hiking in Sand Dunes and Zapata Falls. Also walked a little by the nearby steam. Quiet and out of the way.

Edge of our realm

Crestone is great, very clean. The house is sweet and small, everything you need but nothing over the top. Fireplace and patio provides PRIMO view of Crestone Peak, behind the house is access to a green space with nice trails and a running river, super for easy warm up walks. The place is very warm and comfortable settled in a very clean and beautuful setting.

Peace and quiet

This is a fantastic property in a quiet neighborhood. It was very clean and better than described. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare food (pots & pans, spices, etc.), which is nice because there aren't many restaurants around. The creek and trail behind the house provide a great place to go on a walk and there are lots of forest roads and trails near by to go on a run (beware, nothing is flat). This is a perfect place to get away and enjoy some peach and quiet.

Nice place!

Very cute place for two of us. Clean. Darling one bed/one bath place. Private. Trail behind house is a bit rough- east to get lost. Not a true “trail”. We found the creek though. Zipline there but we did not use that. Nearby Crestone is 5-7 minutes away to grab some food. Fire pit outside was great for a quiet evening to relax. Pre-stocked wood was a bonus. FYI: Great Sand Dunes and multiple hiking trails at that park and Zapata falls are a full 55 minute drive away.

Quiet and Relaxing

What a great little place! We loved our stay here. We were just wanting a nice, quiet getaway and the Hummingbird Hacienda was the perfect place for us. The kitchen was well set up and provided all we needed to make meals. The neighborhood was quiet which made our stay very relaxing. The loft bedroom was comfortable but if you want to sleep in, bring your sleep mask as it’s full of natural light in the morning. We had a wonderful stay!

Great short getaway

Ana was wonderful and great communicating. This little house was very clean with a well stocked kitchen, lots of windows, secluded with great views of the Sagrada Cristo mountains. Its cose to the town of Creststone and not far fron the " Great Sand Dunes". Apparently this area had a wet season and the mosquitoes were quite pesky which kept us in at night. Our dogs loved roaming around but we're mindful of the cactus. The staircase to get to the bedroom is awkward if you are not sure of foot. Steep and some are slightly slanted but with a very cool and sturdy hand rail. It didn't bother us once up and down a few times. All in all, we wouldn't hesitate to come back. It was perfect for us!
