About this property

Smith Lake ,Off I65,Sleeps 25, Rocket Fiber Internet! Deep Water, Pets Ok.

Welcome to 'Magnolia Manor' in Crane Hill, AL in Cullman, Al near Bremen and across from the superb Trident Marina. Super lake views by the lake in our 16 x 32-foot PAVILION AND DOUBLE DECKER BOAT DOCK!! Steps down from the house and a NEW Double Decker Boat Dock with 16 x 32 Swim Platform attached to our new double-decker boat dock also the lower deck on the house has about 1500 square feet of outside space that is now covered so even if it rains you can use the lower deck with our new outdoor professional ping pong table! Lakeside fire pit. Also, if after looking at all those steps and you have older folks who would have a hard time with the steps, talk to me about that. We have an option thanks to our kind neighbor! So don't worry about that part! We just ask that one does not block the drive because that is the neighbors drive to their house and they are kind enough to let our guests use it if need be. (Please note: We are not available for PROM Parties or FRAT Parties)

Fire pit lakeside.

Cleaning:

We use the following Covid-19 cleaning protocol using a diluted bleach solution (1/3rd cup) bleach per gallon of water and alcohol. We clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces in the household common areas (e.g. tables, hard-backed chairs, doorknobs, light switches, phones, tablets, touch screens, remote controls, keyboards, handles, desks, toilets, sinks).

We named the property Magnolia Manor because the surrounding hills and hollows area has abundant 'cowcumber' magnolias growing everywhere. On Google Maps we can be found just across the lake (West Side) from the Bridge at Trident Marina next to the peninsula. Trident Marina has live music during the summer months. Double-decker boat dock with an upper pavilion now installed. We have 270 feet of steps down to the lakeside pavilion and then a sidewalk down to the new double-decker boat dock with swim platform. Dock Fishing and site-seeing excellent. Free blazing fast fiber WiFi. 15-20 minutes from Interstate 65, the major highway artery from Mobile, AL to Chicago, IL.

At times there is Free Live outdoor Music (during summer) at Trident Marina. Magnolia Manor is the best place to stay on Lewis Smith Lake. Great Family atmosphere. Wide open lake views and spaces. Near to CULLMAN, Alabama shopping and great restaurants especially The AllSteak in CULLMAN for catering and great meal with their world famous orange rolls!

We are located on the Western side of Cullman County, on the East Side of Lewis Smith Lake across the lake from Trident Marina, formerly called Ryans Creek Marina, Phillips Bridge or “Big Bridge,” near Bremen, AL.

To go by land, it is just 5 minutes away. We are 8/10 of one mile from the Trident Marina, formerly Ryan Creek Marina. Our spacious, non-smoking home, will help you get away from city life and enjoy the easy-going pace of the Northern Alabama countryside in the foothills of the Appalachian chain. Whether you choose to stay in Spring, Summer, Winter or Fall, you will feel at home while only an hour away from Birmingham and Huntsville. We are approximately 2 hours from Nashville.

Sometimes even deer are spotted or cranes can be seen flying over the lake in and around the Magnolia Manor.

Perfect for family, family reunions, church meeting, conferences, corporate meetings, professional continuing education courses, and/or company retreats.

To find us on Google Maps, just find Trident Marina on County Road 222. Magnolia Manor is 2/10 of one mile West of the Marina by land or by boat, just across the lake next to the peninsula that juts out on the map. Coming from I-65, we are 7.1 miles West of Interstate 65 down State Highway 69. After driving 7.1 miles on Hwy 69 South towards Jasper, one turns right or West onto County Road 222 at Hwy 69 mile marker 228. Head West on Cty Road 222 up the hill 1.5 miles where you will find a 4-Way Stop sign and a grocery/gas store called 'JD 4-Way.' Keep straight on 222 another 5.2 miles and you will come to Ryan Creek Marina. Go 8/10 mile further on 222 and turn right onto Cty Road 327 into Sunrise Pointe Estates Subdivision (there is a sign there). We are 1/10 mile on the right, the first drive on the right (Lot 2) with a concrete drive leading down into the front of Magnolia Manor. You have arrived!

Magnolia Manor is a hide-away overlooking Smith Lake placed upon a rolling hillside about 270 feet from waters edge where we have 140 feet of water frontage and plenty of parking at and around the house.

The upper deck/balcony is perfect for sunbathing, just hanging out, BBQ on the Green Egg, cooking relaxing, boating, fishing or skiing. Down by the waterside is a newly constructed spacious 16 x32 foot pavilion. You can tie down your motorboat, jet skis, or pontoon at our boat/swim dock after a day of swimming, water-skiing, jet skiing or fishing for largemouth bass, spotted bass, striped bass, bream, and crappie, and enjoy the beautiful sunset over the lake. Tie up at our boat dock. We are in a cove and there are no rough waves coming in. Bring your floats and life jackets and float around!

There is an in-ground pit near the waterside, just bring your own firewood. Sometime the nearby convenience store, Country Mall sells firewood.

New! Blazing Fast Fiber internet!! Green Egg Charcoal grill ! Streaming YouTube TV 65 inche Samsung !

1455 Acre plus OHV (Off Highway Vehicle Park) is only 15 minutes away. The County of Cullman, AL built and maintains this Park called 'Stoney Lonesome.' Very popular with folks driving in from AL, TN, and MS.

According to the Birmingham News article on June 12, 2008, ' The Cullman County Commission bought the land - seven miles southwest of the Interstate 65 exit at Dodge City - in 2012 for just more than $1.8 million.

Much of the money came from an Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs grant designated for an OHV park.

The OHV park has basic trails open for the ATVs, the motorcycles, the mountain biking,' Sellers said.....rock crawling, so 4x4 vehicles with oversized tires can crawl over large boulders or up steep inclines, Sellers said. The county plans to get rock crawlers to help design and build that trail section from quarried boulders.

Magnolia Manor bedding is as follows: 1 King Bed (sleeps 2); 2 Queen Beds (sleeps 2 per bed);2 Twin Bed sleeps 2; 2 Futon Sofa/Beds (sleeps 2 per futon); 5 Bunk Beds (sleeps 10 total in Bunks); 1 New Leather Sofa folds out and sleeps 2. Total of 24 can sleep in beds! Extra couch available as well, would make 25!

Lewis Smith Lake is a Southern Company reservoir in North Alabama. The three-fingered lake was created by Alabama Power to produce hydroelectric eco-friendly power and improve river traffic conditions on the Black Warrior River, as well as to provide recreation opportunities.

Besides fishing the lake offers excellent opportunities for other water sports, including swimming, boating, jet-skis, and water skiing, as well as non-water related activities like camping, picnicking and just plain relaxing. This Lake Home is about 1 hour north of Birmingham and about 2 hours south of Nashville, 2 and 1/2 hours from Atlanta, just 15 minutes off Interstate 65. Lewis Smith Lake is located between Birmingham and Huntsville and is nestled among the pastures and rolling hills of Northern Alabama. Lewis Smith Lake serves as a perfect getaway for individuals in both Birmingham, Atlanta, and Nashville.

'We visited Magnolia Manor in June and had a wonderful time. I have four
kids and 7 grandchildren. The house is wonderful for a big family.
Everyone had their own rooms and the kids loved the bunks. The kitchen
is adequately furnished for cooking large meals. We loved the outside
decks. There is lots of parking for several vehicles. We enjoyed our
time at Magnolia Manor and would recommend it for a family vacation.'
......Dianne Holloman, Quitman, MS

'Marvelous time with all the kids and grandkids. We hope to come back next year!'
The Fifes in Hoover, AL

"Thanks so much so allowing our family to spend time in your beautiful home. We spent a lot of time in the house since it was raining a lot during some of our stay here. You have a lovely home. We will look into visiting again. We love how much room there is! Thanks again." The Howards

"This weekend we celebrated our mothers 50th birthday with family and friends. Everyone 'ooohed and aaahed' over how beautiful the house was. Everything we needed was here! (The WiFi was great for the laptops!) We watched the Olympics on the big TV in the living room. It also snowed outside! The weekend was delightful! Thank you for letting us stay here! Hopefully we will get to come back again!" Davis Family

Our guests come from as far away as Santa Barbara, California and as near as right here in Alabama.

For your boat rentals, we recommend Trident Marina which is just across the lake from Magnolia Manor. Many guests enjoy swimming off our spacious boat dock. Bring your own life jackets and floats to your enjoyment!

Pefect spot to stay for a local family wedding!

The house and property were perfect for our trip down for a family wedding at The Barn Smith Lake. There were 25 of us and plenty of space to spread out if needed or to just hang out. As we left, everyone was already talking about coming back when it is warmer!

Family Christmas Getaway

The property is wonderfully suited for family gatherings. The great room/kitchen area are fantastic for multiple groups spending time doing all kinds of things. Lots of places to sit and eat, play cards, have conversation, or watch TV. The basement play area is awesome with ping pong, arcade, pool table, and foosball to pass the time. Every space is built with purpose. It was cold so we were not really able to much around the lake but there was so much to do inside and on the decks that we didn’t need it. Just a beautiful place, fully equipped with all you need! Loved it so much!!

Growing up at Crane Hill, I watched as the Lake was built in the early 1960s. Some of my family owned land that is now 'lakefront property.' I worked on the family farm where we raised cows, and lots of chickens 'broilers.' I thought everyone got up at 4 AM to work before they went to elementary school!! I "retired" from farm life, at age 15 or so when we moved to Cullman, Alabama.

My wife and I have 5 grown children and we enjoy Smith Lake boating, skiing and just cruising around in the boat on the lake. The Smith Lake and Crane Hill area is good for relaxing in the laid back foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain and has over 500 miles of shoreline. Great for bass fishing although personally I enjoy just riding around in the boat and seeing the scenery. We are local business owners (insurance agency) who live in nearby Jasper, AL which is 30 minutes away on Hwy 69.

Why they chose this property

Centrally located in the Southeast. The best location on the lake just minutes off Interstate I-65 and located just across from the premier Marina on the Lake called Trident Marina. About 7.1 miles from I65, then turn on Cty Road 222. Then down Cty Rd 222 around 7 more miles to Magnolia Manor. Local Fun and adventurous family attractions like The Bankhead National Forest, Stony Lonesome OHV Park, a Natural Bridge, Historic Civil War Battlefields, plus much more. U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL 1 hour away. GOLFING just up the road toward Cullman, 15-20 minutes away. The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, a grand collection of championship courses that offer an equally grand test of golf. Ave Maria Grotto in nearby Cullman, AL that is known throughout the world as 'Jerusalem in Miniature,' which is a beautifully landscaped, four-acre nature park with Catholic statues and miniatures. Oktoberfest is a yearly festival celebrating Cullman's German Heritage and Cullman recently voted to go 'wet.' So now for the first time ever, the Cullman Oktoberfest has beer!

Lewis Smith Lake is the best fresh water lake in North Alabama. Full of Stripe and Large Mouth Bass and other great tasting fish! Great for family get togethers as everyone can drive in from nearby Interstate I-65. Several Bass Masters Classic Fishing Tournaments have relished being on Smith Lake in the past 15 years.

What makes this property unique

Relaxation and Tranquil Time. Free WiFi with streaming TV. Live Music at Trident Marina every Saturday Night.
Boating. Nature Watching. Fishing from shore in the Cove. Big Bass there! Sometimes deer can be seen down by the lake in the early mornings.
Tranquil-
After a good rain, listen to the rushing stream run into the lake while sitting out on the top or bottom deck.

Water Skiing with the family. There is a slalom course just down the lake from us to the North..

Convenient to I-65, just 15 - 20 minutes away.

Professional Pool Table, Foosball Table, Air Hockey Table, and a professional ping pong table...4 separate competition tables for lots of family fun!!

To launch your boat the closest public ramp is located at Smith Lake Park located at Trimble, Alabama.
