About this property

Lakeside Beauty Resort - Fishing, Pool/Spa, 6bdrm, near Yosemite

Lakeside Beauty Resort is the dream retreat destination for a group of families or friends. The property has unique aspects to be enjoyed in any season. A beautiful pool and heated hot tub are ready for day or night enjoyment. Best of all, is the lake, built by the Army Corps of Engineer in 1953, filled with rescue ducks of all varieties, bass, and striper for your fishing pleasure! Take out our peddle-boat, or bring your own kayak/canoe and explore to heart’s content.
For SuperTramp fans, this was the home of the drummer Bob Siebenberg.

This amazing home, sitting on 33 acres, has unrivaled privacy, a rustic charm you’d expect in a lake and mountain setting, with 4000+ square feet of living space to get together or take some personal time. It's perfect for family gatherings to reconnect, relax, and yet has plenty of available activities for everyone. In less than 10 minutes you can be in either the famous recreational haven of Base Lake and/or the hometown comfort of Oakhurst. And of course, the property is only 18 miles from the southern entrance to Yosemite.

The property sits on a small lake with its own private dock. The lake is fed by winter rain runoffs and water levels are maintained in the summer to preserve the fish, duck, turtle, and other wildlife populations. The options are endless! Let your senses absorb the amazing wildlife or just relax with a fishing pole in hand (catch, eat, or take home!) and feel the daily stress disappear.

The home's amenities boast 4300 sq ft, 6 bedrooms 4 full bathrooms, outdoor kitchen complemented with a pool (open ~mid-May thru Oct) and attached hot tub (fits 4-6 comfortably). Please note the pool is NOT heated.

There’s a gas BBQ. Most of the bedrooms have an open view of the lake. You could enjoy dinner or a happy hour beverage on the large patio deck facing the lake. C’est la vie! Take a stroll along the lakeside trails, enjoy a board game, horseshoe, take a dip into the pool, or enjoy the sunset in the spa. Absorb the beauty of your surroundings. You deserve this. Our favorite, kicking back on the deck watching the fish literally leap out of the water.

Pets are negotiable. Requires owners approval and $300 pet fee. Maximum 2 pets per rental. To preserve the home, no wet dogs inside and pets are not allowed on the beds or furniture. If this applies to you, in your inquiry request please describe your lovely pet, agree to the conditions, and we can chat about the possibilities!

Kind reminder, NO smoking indoors or near the doorways. This is to keep the home as scent free and approachable to everyone who rents. Evidence will result in a fine.

Lakeside Beauty…Perfect Name!

We enjoyed our stay very much! It started off with a few hiccups, but the owners are VERY attentive and understanding, and more accommodating than we could have imagined. Would definitely stay again! The daily visits from numerous deer families had us all on “critter watch” the whole stay. I’m pretty sure I even saw a mountain lion walk across the adjacent property. (No one believes me, but I swear!) The property is beautiful and plenty of room for all 11 of us. There was even two more beds available that weren’t used. If you want a beautiful place to hike, venture out to Yosemite &/or Bass Lake, or just to go for some R&R, look no further!! Very grateful for the memories we created there.

Great location. Enjoyable stay.

We had a great time with friends. The house set up is perfect for groups. The kitchen is large and has all the cooking items you'd need. We really enjoyed our stay. The kids loved the pool. The firepit was a big hit.

Very Happy

I was prefect for a extended family. For once my family was happy staying at the house. They usually want to get out and explore. We spent two full days just hanging out. Kids fished and swam. Adults got to have down time. The house did not disappoint. Everyone wants to go back, what better recommendation can you have.

Wonderful stay!

The property was clean, had plenty of space for our large group, was well appointed and had such a picturesque setting. We truly enjoyed our stay at Lakeside Beauty, and we would highly recommend it to anybody looking for a great place to spend a vacation. We especially enjoyed fishing off the dock and relaxing in the hot tub after a long day hiking in Yosemite. Stephanie was responsive to any questions we had and was also very helpful with any recommendations in the area. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Book If You Prefer Isolation!

Overall, not much to complain about regarding our stay here other than some minor inconveniences. The property description seemed to indicate that there were 6 bedrooms listed within the main house, in ADDITION to the bunk beds in the game room and the detached bungalow house across the walkway to the pool. We ended up having to cram a little more than expected due to this. Could have just been my misunderstanding. There was coincidently a scheduled PG&E power shut down on our first night from 9-10:30pm. After the power came back on, the hot tub heater seemed to stop working the rest of the weekend. The kitchen is awesome, has a nice huge granite island that fits everybody. There was designated mini-fridges too but they didn't do the best job of cooling the drinks we put in there. We had issues all weekend with the kitchen sinks draining. The home could use some plumbing maintenance. The backyard and patio was awesome, very spacious with a full deck and the pond was not a disappointment. We spent most of our weekend out there just soaking in the scenery. The property manager responded to my inquiries and was conflict-free. That goes a long way as the consumer.

Fun place for large families

We had four families staying here (7 adults and 9 kids). It was a blast. Fishing and paddle boats on the pond were a huge hit. It had a lot of useful utensils and shareable items in the house. Tons of blankets that we took for picnic spots in Yosemite. Owners were very receptive and quick to answer questions as they came up.

Great Location

Overall a great experience. The owner was very responsive throughout the entire process. The location and view are beautiful. My family and I had an amazing time. We have a few minor complaints, which is the reason for the 4 stars. I’ve discussed these issues with the owner and she has addressed them. I would’ve done 4.5, but that was not an option. The windows in the bedrooms are locked shut, so it got very hot in the rooms unless the AC was on all night. Some rooms have doors that lead to the deck, but a few were missing the screens, so we couldn’t leave those open either. My grandmother was not very happy about the AC being on all night, but we had no choice. Also, of course I understand that we are in the woods and bugs are everywhere, but I wasn’t expecting the inside of the house to have so many spider webs and spiders. That should’ve been managed before our arrival through an exterminator. I’m okay with the bugs outside, but not inside where my children sleep. Also, this is just FYI, if you have small children (we have 3 under the age of 3), the pool has no enclosure. It’s also very easy for kids to be able to go down to the lake from the deck because there are no gates anywhere. You just have to make sure that you watch the kids at all times. There were several loose nails and screws on the deck. My kids kept picking them up, which was scary. As long as the minor issues above are resolved, I would definitely recommend this house for your next getaway.

Magical Mountain Stay

Having grown up in the area, you see a ton of great properties in the foothills of Yosemite, but this place is truly something special. Tucked back in a well groomed community, this home offers just enough isolation to make you feel secluded, but close enough to amenities that you don’t worry about running into town. The back deck over looking a pond/lake makes you feel lucky to be alive! A great entertainment space with plenty of room for activities, fishing with the kids swimming, soaking in the hot tub, ping pong etc. this place has it all. Being that this is an older property, the home does have its quirks, but all manageable in in the grand scheme. The back slider (one of 5 doors leading to the back deck) needs to be replaced, almost impossible to open with our sheer strength. The kitchen comes stocked with several “shareables” just in case you forgot a few things. Great horseshoe island in the dining area, with multiple mini fridges, plenty of space for your drinks and snacks. One thing missing is a kettle for boiling water for tea or hot cocoa, however they have a couple Coffee makers which is great when you have a big group. Beautiful fire place and mantle with plenty of seating, ample blankets in all the a rooms to keep cozy. Each bedroom has its own entrance with one common shared space in the middle of the home, the fully stocked entertainment room comes with a large collection of movies, all in alphabetical order! They can use a few extra towels in the kitchen/pantry but there are plenty for the pool and hot tub in the laundry room (a little hard to find) but once we got them, all was well. Some of bedrooms need some bedside night stands, but plenty warm and cozy otherwise. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home and would be happy to recommend it to friends and family, thanks for the memories!

Lakeside resort family retreat

Everything here was amazing. Definitely will stay again. A few more cameras than I would prefer. One by the pool and back deck seemed a little much. The views and location to downtown Oakhurst, Bass Lake , Yosemite and even the casino were perfect. Sugar Pine Steam train is fun as well. Rent a Pontoon boat for the family 20 minutes away. I recommend the 8am rental (lake is less crowded). House has a fun layout. The room above the pool is perfect for a couple that have a newborn or toddler for naps and privacy. Again, we will be back :-)

Near Perfect destination.

We have used VRBO for the past 10 years and this property was the near-perfect destination for a three-generation family group between the ages of 8 to 70 years. Management (Stephanie) was patient and responsive to our questions and concerns. We did have several minor issues but they did not interfere with our plans. The day trip locations included Oakhurst, Yosemite, and Bass Lake. Oakhurst had all the necessary stores; several supermarkets, sporting goods, a fly fishing guide service, a brewery, and a distillery. Yosemite National Park is always special with the various hikes, and enough water to see Yosemite Falls, Bridal Veil and Mist trail. El Capitan and Half Dome are always impressive. We rented a boat, tube, kayak, and jet skis at Millers Landing (great ice cream) at Bass Lake. Several in our group mountain biked near Bass Lake as well. WIFI access and a swimming pool are important considerations. The WIFI was slow. However, it was able to handle work-related video conferencing for several days. iPads, laptops, and Netflix during the other times. The kids spent many hours in the spa/pool. We have found this to be the key to happiness for all concerned. The appliances worked great. The air conditioner kept us cool during the day as the highs of the day reached 100 F. Two dishwashers and a full-sized washer/dryer were very helpful. Two beverage refrigerators help keep the drinks cold. The pond and paddle boats provided hours of enjoyment. The best part was catching fish!!!! Smallmouth bass and bluegill were caught and released. Also very special was that dock was 15-20 yards away from the house, so beverages and resting areas were nearby. The pond is private, so no fishing license is needed. IF you are an animal watcher, this area is great. The bears in Yosemite and osprey/deer at the lake were the highlights. In summary, we would return to Lake Beauty. Now to find the time!!!!
