Once I took a look, I knew I wanted it. The owner was kind enough to let me stay there as it was April and everything was booked and I had to settle 7 days later. The bad news was, I drove 15 and a half hours alone and lets just say, the cottage needed some work! In a panic I called an ex-boyfriend who I had remained great friends with and basically begged him to let me fly him down to come help me rehab the cottage. He reluctantly flew down the next day. My boyfriend at the time was home sick so even though the two of them knew each other and were both friends, I didn't think it was the time to tell him that I flew my ex down (as he is a retired builder). So anyway, we went to work but made time to enjoy the beach and get to know the amazing people who regularly hang at this street. After about a month, my boyfriend was feeling better and said, "I am coming down, TODAY". So needless to say I had to tell him what I had done and even though this is kind of humorous, we really were just working non-stop to make the cottage into what I envisioned it to be, he wasn't thrilled but he saw the transformation and understood. Once my boyfriend arrived then the three of us spent another month finishing up the work . Needless to say my new local beach friends were like...."okay then...so one is your ex and one is your boyfriend??? And the answer was simply YES!. So after everyone in my family and my business thought I was never returning (as I had said 5 days) I went home 2 months later and left my dream cottage behind for all to enjoy. I loved the experience so much that I now have rentals by the same title in Ocean City, Maryland Berlin, Maryland and spring of 2023 Ocean Pines Maryland
