About this property

Western Pacific 434 Train Caboose (Tiny Home)

This memorable place is anything but ordinary. A retired Western Pacific Train Caboose built in 1955 turned into a complete tiny home. Located in the once bustling Menan Produce Rail Yard. Still a business center in small town USA.

Just Inside the train is mini bunks and full bed, kitchen with Bar-top, living room, and fabulous bathroom. Just down the road from one of the best restaurants in Southeast Idaho, the Teton house. Enjoy a bit of history and charm on your next trip.

The space:
It's an open floor plan typical for tiny homes. You walk into the dining bar. On opposite side are the kids bunks. (Not standard twin. 28x63") including train books and a set of train toys tucked under in a tool bag.

Continue walking into the kitchen. Equipped with mini fridge, microwave, hot plate, dinner wear, and cooking basics.

You'll transition into the living room with beautiful bay windows on each side. With a cozy velvet couch.

That leads us to the a master suite. Comfortable full bed, reading sconces, and extra pillows. With access to the patio.

This outdoor space includes a propane grill, dinning, and relating accommodations. Evening lights offer great ambiance to relax and visit.

Guest access:
The guest have access to the train, patio, And parking space.

Other things to note:
This is a tiny home. So there are some unconventional layouts or systems that are part of the experience.

It's also located in an industrial area of a farming community. You'll see trucks, semis, trailers, campers, and farming equipment rolling by early in the morning.

No pets and no smoking.

Nostalgic and Comfortable

Unfortunately, we got there late and had to leave early. I was so thankful for the cleanliness, lovely decor and very comfortable bed!

Cool place to stay!

We really enjoyed our stay! The caboose is cozy and comfortable. The outdoor space is an added bonus. Comfortable bed but only a full size. Check in was easy. Alysha, our host, was friendly and helpful. As mentioned previously, the shower/toilet combo was very small. Would definitely stay again!!!

The host did an excellent job bringing life to a piece of history. Truly a unigue experience. If you have any train enthusiasts in your family, this would be a truly great experience for them. Communication was great, the host was very responsive. The details inside the Caboose were well done to include history about the railroad. Only dowside is that it is a bit remote. A general store / gas station is across the street that offers pretty much anything you may need however.

Even better than expected

It was great. Host very responsive and accommodating. Attention to details were amazing. Very nice country store gas station for all your needs next door. Didn't get to visit the nice restaurant in town but maybe next time.

Cute and Unique!

This was a fun tiny house! Super clean and decorated so nice! I didn't have kids, but they have fun train books and train tracks for kids to play with. Such a a fun and unique VRBO! I texted with the property manager and she responded quickly and even gave suggestions for activities and food! Such a fun place to stay if going to Yellowstone!
