This place was amazing and felt peaceful and cozy!! Loved the pond and kids enjoyed it. Owner was amazing and wish we had more time to stay but definitely will be coming back. Thank you.
My husband and two teenage boys absolutely love this place! The location can’t be beat—it’s so close to both the Meramac and Huzzah rivers for floating and fishing! They spent a couple of hours touring the Onondaga cave and several more floating the Huzzah. The fishing pond on the property provided entertainment and enjoyment for the boys while my husband sipped coffee in the early a.m. Unfortunately I was unable to join them for this trip and am bummed to have missed the fun. I would have loved to sit by the fire at dark listening to the sounds around me and seeing the Milky Way in the sky. Next time, I’ll be sure to be there!
Completely seamless experience. 100% recommend. The house itself was adorable, spotless, and huge! The pictures did not do it justice! Everything we needed was provided. Our host, Crystal, was incredibly responsive, helpful, and just wonderful! I only have positive things to say. I hope we have another opportunity to visit! Thank you!
We love The Rockhouse. Its very beautiful and comfy. Has everythig we need for our stay. We love the Solo Stove and the pond in the back. Its worth the stay.
My sister in law and 2 of my adults children rented this charming house for a recent girls trip to hike and go tubing in the area. This house and property are very beautiful and well maintained. The house is bigger than we realized, providing good space to spread out but gather as well. The house has very comfortable furniture and the house is very well stocked with great attention to detail to help make your stay more comfortable. The grounds are well maintained as well with a pond down a short path and a nice fire pit area. We had storms one of the nights we were there and the property manager was very responsive, and planned ahead by messaging to give us a way to get our vehicle and ourselves out of the storm in the event the weather got worse. We would rent this home again when in the area for sure.
Things to note however: With heavy rain there was water that gathered on the enclosed porch that did leak so we were not able to enjoy this area of the home, however there is another enclosed sun room with a nice table to use. There were also 3 spot light/camera looking devices in the corners of the common areas which I am not sure what they are exactly. I did ask the hostess but did not get an answer to that question. Even with these things I would still rent this home again (I would want to know what the light/camera things are),but overall we were all very pleased with our stay and would highly recommend this home and hostess.
We love staying at The Rock House. It has everything that we need. The kids love fishing in the pond out back. We love the privacy we have staying here. We will be back.
We really enjoyed our stay. The home is very clean and well stocked, and the grounds are beautiful! We enjoyed walking the trails and through the woods. My husband really enjoyed fishing in the pond and caught some good sized fish! We also enjoyed a nice fire in the solo stove outside. The beds were comfy in the shower was nice and warm. The only downsides are the road noise and we weren't allowed to use the wood burning stove inside. But the electric fireplace under the TV made it warm and cozy. Also, Crystal was great to work with! Thanks so much for an enjoyable stay!
Such a beautiful home! Love how well stocked the kitchen is, the lovely decor, and comfy furniture. The outdoor firepit space is wonderful, and Crystal is so great to work with. Such a charming property - we will continue to return!
I loved how beautiful and clean the property and the home are. The sunroom was my favorite! I was there on a weekend retreat to rest, relax and recharge. I highly recommend this lovely and picturesque property.
The house and property had plenty of room for everyone. It was well appointed for a comfortable stay. The pond out back made a beautiful view from the fire pit area as well. Highly recommend this place!
Great experience in this little home away from home
Very clean, good communication. Saw lots of wildlife on property around dusk/dawn. My three year old enjoyed catching some small fish in the pond. Would stay again!

Everything was perfect about this property! It’s only a few miles from Meramec Springs Park! It has every amenity you could need, down to delish coffee and creamer! The back room with all of the windows was my favorite! The views were amazing.. I could go on about this house!! We will be back!!
This property meets all check boxes; it's close to St James and the river, but also secluded on a beautiful piece of land. The property has a picturesque pond with a stunning house we fell in love with. Spacious, inviting, and absolutely breathtaking, the Rock House provided us with a Home away from Home. We loved the sun room where we enjoyed breakfast in the morning, along with all the other rooms to relax and hang with family. We can't wait to share our experience with friends and family, and plan our next visit.
My husband and I really enjoyed our weekend here! Did some fishing in the pond, explored near by river beaches, and went to Meremac Spring park. Absolutely beautiful!
We had a great time. We love staying at The Rock House. I would recommend this to everyone. I love this place. We will be back. Communication with the host is excellent. They are really nice people.
My friend and I went on a trip to Steelville and stayed at this place. It was beautiful only a couple miles from the Merrimack park with all kinds of RV parks in places to go canoeing, etc. etc. It was a fabulous weekend the weather even cooperated lol it was absolutely beautiful!
The Verbo that we stayed in was beautiful well taken care of smartly furnished, and absolutely stunning. It’s in a rural area where you can look out and see land anywhere you look
There were only a couple of things I was unaware we had to pay extra for the solo stove. I still don’t know what the amount is. The the other thing that kind of upset me was that we had to pay for a cleaning amount, but still had to strip the beds and make sure everything was in order so we left the place just like it was when we got there, basically. I’ll be sure to ask more questions next time.
Overall though it was a wonderful time and we enjoyed our rental very much!
We had an awesome stay. I love this property. This is the second time we have stayed here. I highly recommend it to everyone. Communication is awesome with the owner.
