RECOMMENDATIONS AND SOME THINGS TO DO IN THE AREA
- Recommendation- For top eateries and attraction we recommend booking early as many places get sold out. Restaurants are especially difficult as this area has a shortage of wait-staff.
- Harper Brothers- They are across the street. They also have a fantastic store that serves Starbucks coffee and desserts.
- See Amazing Views and/or Ride a Horse- The Harp Brothers also have the Hawk Skylift. Included at the top is a viewing deck with free water, Moonpies (a common theme), rocking chairs and games. You can also ride a horse...at the bottom of course. Both are located at the red barn behind their large store.
- Do a Tennessee Moonshine tasting session at the Tennessee Shine Co- Only 3 minutes away. Moonshine and Moonpies.
- Axe throwing and Beer? What could go wrong? These are two highly rated Axe throwing places that both also serve craft beer and food. They are both in Pigeon Forge. Country Road Axe Co or Axe House
- Drive Through the Smoky Mountain Park. The entrance is only 8 minutes away.
- Drive Through Cades Cove Scenic Loop. It is 25 minutes away and 11 miles long with amazing views. Try to go early as it does get crowded.
- See a Waterfall- Laurel Water fall is 10 minutes away. A short hike gets you to the waterfall.
- Go Rafting- Townsend has several rafting companies. 9 minutes away. River Rat Rafting is the closest but there are many good ones.
- See a Smoky Mountain "top 10 View"- Look Rock is 30 minutes away.
- Get some good Southern Cooking- Elvira's Southern Cafe- Across the street offering Southern eats like pork chops & hamburger steak.
- More Food- If you head towards Pigeon Forge and go just past the Hillbilly Cafe, they set-up some excellent food trucks (typically Weekend Only).
- Zip Lining- Want to try? It's only 10 minutes away at Wears Valley Ziplining. If you're willing to travel a bit further try the highly rated ClimbWorks.

Too close to noisy highway

This place is much smaller than the impression on website. Furniture and place were very outdated. Musty odor when we arrived. The back porch needed a quick use of a blower to get dust, leaves and debris cleaned up. The cabin is 50 yds from the main highway, so you hear cars, trucks and motorcycles all day and night. It is a duplex and even though the neighbors were not being very loud, you could hear them, especially from the main bedroom. You also can’t really go for a walk in the woods by the cabin, the highway is right there. So if you want a cabin right by the main highway, close to pigeon forge,, close to restaurant and other activities, stay here, otherwise don’t. We won’t again.

Peace and serenity

Our most recent trip to Tennessee was filled with so many ups and downs. This cabin was definitely an up! Beautiful place. Coffee on the porch in the morning, wine at night… perfect. My dogs were even able to settle in on the first night. That doesn’t happen often. The host was amazing and so responsive. All other hosts I’ve used have paled in comparison. Thank you!

Wonderful Host

When we first arrived it was 90 degrees out and the a/c would not turn on. I messaged the host and he immediately sent out someone to fix the broken wires in the thermostat. He was very professional and fixed this problem right away. Without even asking he refunded us $50! It started out as a stressful experience, but the host made it so much better and did the right thing. Highly recommended.

Rustic Cabin close to the Smokey Mountains

We greatly enjoyed our stay at this Cabin in the woods. It is close to the smokey Mountains and Townsend (where there is lots of restaurants and stores). Pigeon Forge is close by, too! We especially enjoyed sitting on the porch at the end of the day, enjoying the beautiful view. We walked over to Elvira's Cafe for a yummy dinner one night, and shopped at Harper's Bros Store across the street another time. Would stay again!

Great for our family!

This cabin was just what we were looking for! It was clean, nicely decorated, had great views, nice 15 min. drive into town and spacious enough for our family of 6. Thanks for being pet friendly too! Nice space in the laundry area for a dog cage.

Great central location

My Wife and I spent our first week ever in the Smoky Mountains being hosted here. We love how easy it was to get to everything especially since we did not know the area. You get exactly what is listed and the property owners check in on you throughout the stay. We spent most of our time exploring the area going to small shops and diners, hiking in the Smoky National Park, and driving the amazing roads like the Foothills Parkway. We are already planning the next trip back.

Very misleading

The pictures the shown on the internet were nothing like the property. The pictures taken must have been when the property was pristine. The property was very unkept clean but unkept missing cabinet doors, porch was overran with vegetation. Just nothing like the pictures.

Fun Bachelorette Weekend stay!

We had so much fun staying here for my bachelorette weekend, it was pretty humid in the house so you may want to bring a dehumidifier. The house is super cute and is in a quiet neighborhood, we couldn’t even hear the next door duplex. It is close to lots of fun places, winery’s, super good coffee shops, and not to far from pigeon forge or Gatlinburg

My experience

The fan in the living room is slightly separated from the ceiling so you can hear it clunk. Couldn’t sleep at night because of the cars speeding by or lifted trucks flying by constantly. The balcony door made me a little nervous because it doesn’t lock. The location was difficult to find at night time so we tried our best getting to the caning before dark to be able To see and the path way is very narrow. Between my son and I it was hard to sleep because we were constantly hearing noises. Overall the owner was very nice though the messages and the place was nice in the outside and clean.

Family trip

Overall the stay was nice - my only recommendations are that the floors weren’t really clean, my children’s feet were black after a bath and walking around the cabin. There was only one hand soap and it was upstairs and I think there was poison oak/ivy growing on one post outside on deck with two small children that would have easily ruined the trip. Upon arriving the driveway was very hard to get into coming from Pigeon Forge area in a bigger sized truck, and once we arrived there were guests in the other cabin so parking was difficult to maneuver around that first night. The other guests were nice, just suggested the driveway be widen out more. These are just suggestions to be made, the overall stay was nice and described as listed.

Great stay in Wears Valley

This property was perfect for our family which includes three young men. The three beds in the loft were perfect for them. The kitchen was well appointed. The location was halfway down Wears Valley. The cabin is right across the street from Elvira's Cafe. We loved being away from the craziness of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Communication and check in/out instructions were everything we needed from Daniel. We highly recommend this property!

Adorable and homey cabin!

We loved this cabin so much! It is so sweetly decorated and has all the amenities we needed. There was plenty of space for my husband and two children. It is far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the bigger towns (Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg) but close enough for a short drive. We also enjoyed the fun little shops like Mountain Bros. We took a nice ride on the Hawk and played a little cornhole at the top. Breakfast at Elvira's is a must, and it's right across the street. We can't wait to come back!

Great location and property

Daniel was very easy to work with. The cabin was great, we were there for a wedding weekend and hated we only got to spend a short amount of time at the cabin. Right across the street from sky lift. Near wineries and everything in Wears Valley and a short drive to Townsend

Great location

Great location. Close to Gatlinburg, pigeon forge and the Smokey mountains. There was so much to do in the area. We will be coming back next year to do the things we didn’t have time for on this trip. Would stay at this property again. The were a few problems with this location. There were mouse droppings in the silverware drawer and tray. Some dirty utensils in the utensil drawer. Also there were mouse droppings on the shelves where they stored the extra pillows and linens.

Wonderful property with a great location!

We loved this beautiful refurbished cabin! It held our family beautifully. We enjoyed a fabulous breakfast at Elvia’s and a beautiful ride on the Hawk Lift followed by some play at Pigeon Forge Snow on our first day. We then headed to our beloved Dollywood for a very full day of fun. It was wonderful to return to our beautiful and peaceful cabin each evening for more family time.

Enjoyed our short stay

Enjoyed our stay! Good location for the wedding we addended at Sampson’s Hallow. The price was affordable and accommodations were good. The communication with the hosts was excellent. I liked the front porch the best! The stairs into the cabin were difficult for my elderly mother because the first step was high with limited handrail but we spotted her and it worked out. We liked how we were in the woods but be cautious going in and out of the driveway. Overall, we were pleased!
