Wonderful cottage in a tiny community
When I first booked this cottage we thought it was a stand alone place. We were actually excited to find that it is part of almost like a “resort” with a main lodge for check in, and restaurant and a bar with amazing views. The cottage was perfect for the 6 of us, although one bathroom was a tiny bit tricky with two kids and four adults. It was clean and very cozy. My only critical comments would be the following: this cottage is far away from the Wi-Fi tower (so we were told) so internet of cell service was non existent for us. This was a bummer because one of us needed to check in on work occasionally so had to walk to the other side of the resort to get Wi-Fi. We couldn’t get the satellite dish/tv to work either. Also the cottage kitchen was empty - it’s obviously not required but usually Vrbo places have some sort of “leftover” items from previous tenants (aluminum foil, coffee, condiments etc) and this place had none. Would have been a bonus to have some of those things so we didn’t have to buy every single item we needed (again this would just be a bonus). Also there were no ice trays or ice In the freezer so we had no way of making ice and the nearest store is 15 minutes away. Ice trays would have been nice. Overall an amazing place to stay! Just have a couple minor comments for improvement!

Jasper national park visit
Spacious cabin and comfortable furnishings. Nice beds, linens and amenities and plenty of closet space. A 1/2 bath addition would be a real bonus along with a better Mountain View from the kitchen window (with a bit of tree grooming) The food at the lodge was spot on and our hosts were super.

Family trip
Family trip was great, easy access to meitte hiking trails. Cabin was a little small for 5 adults. I would class this as a 4 sleeper. With a option for 2 more, however we made it work, and had a great stay. I would recommend this property for sure and will stay there again.

Terrific stay
We stayed here as a family of 5. Property was very spacious compared to other rentals in Canadian Rockies we had. This location is a little far from downtown Jasper but the location is beautiful and you will be driving no matter where you stay in Jasper given size of park! We loved cooking dinner at the property after long days hiking- very relaxing! The shower was hot with great pressure and the place was very clean! We would absolutely stay here again. One review mentioned they got the wrong unit. The chalets are all managed by Overland Mountain lodge and they may put you in a different unit. They are all very similar. If you want the exact unit pictured here you should ask when you check in. They are all great! No one is trying to take advantage of you - the property management is great! Loved that they provided you with coffee, cream, sugar etc and 2 packets of laundry soap- nice touch!

Short trip with our besties
We really enjoyed our stay here. Very clean. Friendly staff, very accommodating. We did our own cooking except for the last morning we ordered breakfast in and it was very good. Hope to go again one day.

Great property, expect travel
My family and I loved the lay out, the amenities in the house (BBQ and eating out on the deck.) and the 2 bedrooms work great for the family. Everything was clean and ready for our arrival and a nice facility to host friends during a stay. Overall a great experience. There were a few hiccups we had. 1. The original electronic posting showed the property in the town of Jasper. Even sent it to the friends we would meet up with out there. The electronic description and posting changed closer to the departure date. 2. The property is part of a Overlander Mountain lodge or managed by them. I had not received check in info through VRBO, I was contacted by the lodge for check in the day I was travelling. I was expecting contact with the Property manager on the listing. I couldn't tell it was a managed property on the hotel site from the posting. Nothing overtly wrong with that just was not what I was expecting based on the post.

2 night weekend stay
This was is a nice place. We had an issue with the shower, cold water. It was fixed, so that was very good. It could use better cleaning. Over all we really enjoyed the spot and space. it was private and quiet.

Disappointed and Frustrated
At check in we did not get the property that we booked and tried to contact the GM several times that day. He did not get back to us until the next morning. We were told then that it was an oversight on his part and that we could move to the rented property after he prepared it for us. We did move over to the correct rental later that day but there was no follow up with us for the rest of our stay until the last day when we checked out - THEN we were offered a coffee or breakfast (at this point it was a little late to trying to make amends). Just overall very disappointing for the money that we spent and the time spent unloading, cleaning up the first rental then and relocating to the actual property that we actually booked. The property itself was in a beautiful location but not sure if we would return in the future. Simply not the way to do business! Poor communication and lack of follow up.

About the host

In the Canadian Rockies, just over half a scenic hour east of the town of Jasper, the Overlander Mountain Lodge Vacation Homes neighborhood of luxury chalets is known for what it's missing.

Instead of crowded tourist sites and restaurants with lines out the door, we have our own Folding Mountain Brewery for casual meals, along with our signature Stone Peak Restaurant, with farm-to-table cuisine created by our international-award winning chef.

While this chalet offers satellite TV, we think you'll prefer views of nature and the extensive trails that invite you to step out.

We're not in Jasper National Park, but located just past its East Gates, closer to Miette Hot Springs than any site in the town of Jasper.

Come stay with us. Stop and smell the wildflowers. Enjoy pure water and peace of mind with our professionally-managed and maintained accommodations. Bring your whole family. Because we think you'll love it here as much as we do, precisely for everything that's missing.
