Sweet cabin, quiet escape!

We had a perfect few days at the cabin. It’s a very quiet, peaceful and clean property—perfect for a getaway! Thank you so much!

Beautiful location and rental!

This rental is in perfect proximity to Yosemite for those of you who are looking for a deluxe accommodation while enjoying the park! Natalie was a pleasure to work with and when I had a snag with my booking, she was super on the ball and got it figured out for me right away. Her property is great and you can tell they have put a lot of love into updating and decorating the cabin. It is such a gem and a really cozy/relaxing place! The little town it is right outside of, Mariposa, is also super cute! We enjoyed our dinner at Charles Street Dinner house and had a lunch at the Hideout Saloon which has a very interesting atmosphere and they smoke their own meat, which was great! We can’t say enough good things about this property, thanks Natalie!

Beautiful little cabin in the Woods

Absolutely gorgeous, and remote property out in the woods with inconsistent cell phone service. Stunning spa bathroom with an upscale kitchen and outdoor hot tub.Experienced an unfortunate, and very inconvenient misstep with acquiring access code upon arrival but otherwise a real find.

40th aniversary

We can not say enough about your property, it's actually magical. So very peaceful not a soul around! The views were spectacular! We loved the river down below if we would of had more time would of loved to pack a picnic and enjoy the sounds of the river flowing. Had everything and then some of what we needed. We pretty much all of our meals in your home. The park is not to far from your place not a big deal to get to. The south entrance was a little nerve racking coming back down for us flat landers, we did use the El Portal the next time we went in a little less curvy. The only small thing I would say if it could use better pillows, which we survived. Totally recommend staying and finding each other truly a beautiful place!!!!!!!

About the host

Host profile image
Hi there, it’s very nice to meet you! We’re Jon and Natalie Zensius.

We met fresh out of film/art school working on a children’s TV show. We got married, raised kids, and spent our free time remodeling fixer-uppers and being in nature until we decided to buy mountain property nine years ago. (We landed on Yosemite because we LOVE this area, and wanted to be within several hours of the SF bay.)

We didn’t plan on being vacation rental owners at first. We just wanted a weekend place to share with friends and family that reflected our love for comfortable gatherings, so we designed each space accordingly. When we weren’t building things, we were hiking in Yosemite and the surrounding foothills and mountains. Our friends loved escaping office life and being outside, even when we put tools in their hands. They kept asking to come back–and if they could bring their friends too! This helped us realize a passion that eventually became our mission: providing awesome spaces in nature for people to make special memories with their loved ones.

Almost nine years and one pandemic later, we now live full-time in Mariposa, just outside of town, and are focusing more and more of our time and passion into serving our guests. We consider it a privilege to host you!

Why they chose this property

The whole property is yours to roam as you wish. Use our place as a convenient base camp for exploring Yosemite National Park and Mariposa County, or simply settle in and retreat here. We've carefully designed everything so you have what you need to enjoy the best time hanging out with family or friends, getting your work done, or just relaxing.

What makes this property unique

One of the highlights of our property is our river, which is accessed by a well-marked trail that's perfect for taking a morning or evening stroll on. If you venture there and go a bit further downstream, you can find lots of swimming holes and waterfalls to splash and swim in. (Please note: the Chowchilla river is a perennial river, so depending on the rain and snow each year, it typically runs from October to July or August.)
