Superior viewsSecond to none cabin and propertyFantastic hospitalityNo detail missedEasy to findShort distance from everything we needed to see, find, and experience. I love staying here, the hostess is so kind, helpful and friendly. We book every year now and look forward to every single visit.
The cozy cabin was perfect for a nice get away. Beautiful front and back porch to view the sunrise or the snow fall in in winter. The natural light for the variety of windows was refreshing. Its a must see to appreciate kind of Cabin.
Beautiful home and property. We have stayed here several times and will no longer stay anywhere else. It is always very clean and well stocked with thoughtful supplies.
The cabin is lovely and had everything we needed. We cooked two nights and the kitchen was stocked with appropriate cookware. The flowers outside were lovely even though it is near the end of the season. The furniture was quite comfortable. Our favorite activity was sitting on the back porch. We enjoyed watching the peacocks and all the other birds and butterflies that came for the flowers. There was a huge thunderstorm while we were there and we both love the sound of rain on the roof. The downstairs bed was comfortable. We did not use the loft room. Our dog also enjoyed being there particularly laying on the back porch. The only disappointment was the road noise which surprised us but can't be helped. We would definitely stay here again.
The property was delightful all around. The cabin is great & the temperature controls worked well. It was quiet and the only ‘visitors’ were the 3 strolling Peacocks out for their evening wander. One of the best stats I’ve had.
This is our second stay at the cabin and it was just as great as the first. It is clean, stocked with everything you could have possibly forgotten or need, and the bed is the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. Maj-Lis is always an incredible host, and we look forward to returning!
The cabin was beautiful. Clarke the Peacocke was entering and made multiple visits a day to see us. The location was perfect for what we wanted to do which was to sightsee in the area.
What a beautiful place to stay while we explored a part of Michigan we weren't familiar with. Beautiful country setting. Very clean with thoughtful amenities. It is located on a busy road, but traffic noise wasn't an issue during the night. We'd highly recommend!
Wonderful setting within range of all of the northern Michigan sites and trails. Travel to Mackinac City to see the Fort or go onto the Island, or see the many State Parks for hiking and shoreline town shopping.
Close to the only Waterfalls in the lower peninsula, and also located close to Onaway park with metal art works by a local that will turn your head.
Wonderful viewing of area wildlife and I recommend the stay.
The location was perfect! Close to Rogers City and Black Lake and Indian River. The place was nice and cozy. The peacocks were fun to watch 😁

About the host
Hosted by Maj-Lis Nash ( pronounced Mylease )
I was born and raised in Onaway, MI but have resided in Nashville, TN since 1996. My very large family, The Chapmans, mostly all still live in and around Onaway and are all on board for helping my guests whenever needed. My dad, Clark Chapman, and brother Jesse are my onsite handymen and my cleaning crew is lead by my close cousin, Jeanie.
Why they chose this property
This is truly a family venture and we are so excited to have you stay with us. This is a working farm so you might see our fields being cared for by Mike as he plants and harvests wheat, barley and corn. The sunflower are a labor of love by my dad and my Uncle Mark, Uncle Terry and brother Jesse keep the 100sa of flowers arranged and blooming. Feel free to pick flowers on your stay. Come spring we will tap the maple trees to harvest for making syrup in cousin Chucks sugar shack and every fall the apple trees share enough fruit for dad to can some amazing applesauce. There are 3 free range peacocks that wander the property and will be checking out your stay as they ask for food. Feel free to feed them fresh veggies and fresh fruit but not on or near the porch, walk toward the fields and they will follow you for food. The big bard in over 100 years old and you are welcome to take photos near it but please do not go inside. The painted sunflowers ( by my niece Lina ) make an amazing photo op to share with your friends.
What makes this property unique
Being a family run venture there is always someone close by to help you if anything goes wrong or is needed. We don't sublet to an outside source to care for our guests. Feel free to wander the property and explore the beautiful landscape my family works hard to provide. Do not miss the sunrise from the front porch and you can catch an amazing sunset if you wander out in the fields and look west.
