I have stayed at this gem several times and will always look to see if the dates are available for any future visits. I cannot say enough great things about this home. You won't be disappointed if you choose to stay here.
This apartment is absolutely beautiful! The decor is lovely, eclectic and high quality, giving a collected over time feel. The views from the master bedroom are stunning, as they are from the multiple decks. There is a hot tub in a screened in area that boasts beautiful views as well. The Savannah River is lovely and calm. It was especially fun to watch the rowing crews going up and down on Saturday. We walked downtown both days and highly recommend it. The views are lovey along the river on a beautiful river walk. Be sure to ask for the code to the gate in the cul-de-sac. It gives you easy access to the walkway. We stopped into the Morris Museum of Art, and it was delightful. Constance is a lovely host, available for anything, should we need it. We plan to return to Augusta just to stay here again. Do not hesitate to book this lovely apartment!
We had another fantastic stay at this property. It’s very beautifully appointed and well located to Augusta’s attractions. This was our second stay at River Retreat and we highly recommend it. Very, very clean and it feels like you’re staying in a home featured in Southern Living Magazine!

Augusta Ga. House on the River
Too many stairs for us since we are 70 . We had trouble finding the right light switches. The weather was against us, so we could not enjoy all the outside features. The front door light was not working (solar powered?)--so that made coming home dangerous in the dark.Nice shower, nice comfortable bed. A comfortable reading chair would have been niceMy old cell phone would not open our host's e mail giving us the entry code and other info. We were lucky she was home upstairs.
The house was beautiful and secluded. The screened in hot tub was great for keeping the bugs out. Easy walking access to food and shops on Broad St., plus right on the river trail. We had a great time.
We were in town for a baseball tournament at SRP Park for my son. Location was perfect, rental was clean and beautifully decorated. The views are amazing. BEST SHOWER EVER!
Perfect for two adults and/or family with two kids.
No oven and no washer/dryer. Those would be my only two negatives.
Host were wonderful and easy to communicate with. Would definitely stay here again.
This place is beautiful! Overlooks the river. Hidden among the trees! Hot tub! Access to river walk right outside the door. Constance is great to communicate with. Stay here every year for a regatta on the river.
My husband and I stayed here recently, and it was just right for us. It was well decorated and stocked, surprisingly private for being right by downtown, and incredibly relaxing. Constance was wonderful and helpful, a lovely lady. Everything about it was easy and straightforward. We really enjoyed our stay and looking forward to doing so again in the future.
A perfect place for two friends going to the Masters! Location was amazing and Constance was a GREAT host. She even called to see what kind of snacks we wanted!
There are several steps to the property but that didn’t bother us.
Friend and I came down for the weekend to visit another mutual friend, and we selected this place, because we thought it would be cool to be near downtown in the river. This couldn’t be more accurate, the architecture of this place it was fascinating, there were amazing views, and incredible natural light. We had more fun hanging out here than at several of the bars and restaurants we visited within walking distance. I definitely hope to stay here again!
Incredible! Our stay has felt like a fairytale, the view, the bed, the decor. The owner has thought of everything. We hate to go back home. Thank you Constance for your Incredible southern hospitality.

My husband, mother-in-law and I had the pleasure of staying at West End during our race weekend for Ironman 70.3. The property was absolutely lovely, quiet, homey and beautifully decorated. The location was also perfect for proximity to downtown. You really felt like you were in an oasis. The hot tub was great for sore muscles and the views of the river were perfect for relaxation. West End is perfect for three people who don't mind stairs. Constance was also wonderful with communication and quickly got back to us with all additional needs we had during our trip. You won't regret staying here.
Amazing stay right on the river! So Clean & Peaceful.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay. The property and location was so close to everything. The home was so beautifully decorated and utterly spotless! Our host thought of everything to make our stay perfect! The upper deck was the most peaceful place to enjoy a glass of wine while I watched my husband fish on the boat dock. Awesome bed, awesome shower, comfy seating, hot tub…this place had every luxury. If you are coming to Augusta or even the South Carolina border, this is the place to stay. There was ample parking as well. We can’t wait to visit again. Our host was excellent at communication and was the sweetest.
Thank you Constance for a great experience :)
We came to Augusta to see the area as my daughter will be moving there for grad school in the fall. This house was the perfect location for everything and we loved being on the river, watching the rowing crews go by. Everything was well supplied, the decor was wonderful, beds super comfortable including the bed under the stairs. The house felt very private and it was on the most interesting street! We enjoyed going to Meadow Garden, The Morris Museum of Art , Riverwalk and Phinizy Swamp - be aware most things while we were here in March only seem to be open Thu-Sun. The town was pretty quiet on a Monday. We will have to see everything else when we come back again to visit, would stay here again for sure.
This property was absolutely spectacular. The home is so delightful. Attention to detail was spot on! So many little special things when you walk into the home. I don't want to mention them all - as it might ruin the surprise for future guests. There is one small detail that is worthy mentioning - you must be able to handle steps. There are quiet a few steps to get down to the home. If in the area again, I will most certainly look into availability of this location.
Terrific place and great location. Constance was incredibly responsive and nice. Great views of the river and first class decoration. Overall excellent experience.
Constance, was a wonderful host.
I was looking for a place to stay to visit my Marine daughter who was at Fort Gordon for schooling ( after not seeing her for 8 months)
The propert was more impressive in-person. It was perfect....cozy urban chic.
The added touches the music as you enter put us at ease after our long drive.
This apartment was perfect place for us- It had all the amenities needed and more. I was able to cook homemade meals, just relax and enjoy each other's company.
The hot tub was relaxing after exploring the area. The one night fireworks from the Sout Carolina side were amazing- watching them from the dock deck added a whole other dimension.
The views of the Savanah River are breath-taking.
Many local attractions within walking distance- the river walk, the downtown area shops and restaurants
If you are looking for a hidden treasure- a urban slice of paradise.
We are looking forward to coming back.
