Lovely Country Home

Comfortable country cottage. Roy was very helpful when I messaged him. He always replied promptly. Every amenity imaginable available in the lovely house. Air/heat system was a bit tricky but Roy helped me through it with detailed messages. Overall very nice accommodations.

Perfect location, beautiful house - felt like home

From the very beginning we were made to feel welcome with helpful information prior to arrival, easy access to property and a lovely welcome. The house was so well decorated and felt like home, with everything we needed plus a number of thoughtful finishing touches. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would definitely visit again.

Lovely Home in Great Location

We were in town for a family event and four of us stayed at Axel and Roy’s. We could not have found a more perfect home. The amenities were plentiful, with a welcome basket of snacks! The home was impeccably clean and well-kept, inside and out. The outdoor fire pit was a fun extra! It is walking distance to town, where there are plenty of shops and restaurants. I would stay here again and recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.

About the host

Hosted by Roy and Axel

Host profile image
Welcome to Our "Hacienda"!

Roy, a New York native, spent his summers exploring the breathtaking Catskill Mountains, where he developed a deep appreciation for the great outdoors. Axel, who grew up in Panama, has always had a strong connection to the environment. When our paths crossed, we both fell in love with the natural beauty of the Catskills.

Though we call Queens, NY home, our second home in Narrowsburg has become our peaceful retreat—a place to unwind when we’re not traveling the world. We’re excited to share a piece of that serenity with you.

We hope you enjoy your stay at our newly renovated Callicoon Hacienda as much as we love spending time in this special corner of the world.

Why they chose this property

Roy spent his childhood summers in the beautiful Catskills with his family, fostering a lifelong love for the area. In 2006, Roy and Axel, who live in Queens, NY, began their search for the perfect "summer home." That journey led them to Narrowsburg, NY, where they purchased their first property and fell in love with the region’s charm—from scenic hikes and the Delaware River to fantastic restaurants and breathtaking views.

When the world slowed down during COVID, they found themselves spending even more time in Narrowsburg. It was during this time that they discovered a charming, historic home in the vibrant and picturesque town of Callicoon. Over the past year, they've lovingly renovated the house, creating a cozy and inviting retreat for you to enjoy.

Callicoon offers a wealth of attractions and activities, many within walking distance or just a short drive away. Whether you're here for a relaxing escape or an adventure-filled getaway, we've curated a comprehensive list of our favorite spots in the welcome book—and we're always happy to offer personal recommendations!

Pet Policy:

We welcome one small or medium dog (preferably light or non-shedding) with a pet fee. Please contact us to discuss your dog before booking. No other pets are accepted.

If you prefer to board your dog, Dog House Mountain Lodge in nearby Cochecton, NY, offers excellent services just 8 miles (a 10-minute drive) away.

Convenient Location:

Just a 3-minute drive to a 24-hour emergency hospital (Garnet Health Medical Center on Route 97 in Callicoon).

2-hour drive from the George Washington Bridge.

Leave your car at the house and explore the delightful Hamlet of Callicoon on foot!

Additional Information:

For your safety and ours, outdoor security cameras are located at both entrances.

We can't wait to share this special place with you—come and experience the magic of Callicoon for a weekend, a week, or longer!"
