Wooded setting near Penn State Main campus only 12 miles away. New open concept apartment with private entrance. Excellent dining and winerys nearby. Many tourist attractions including Penns Cave, and a quaint Amish village.
Travel directions - From State College, take Route 26 East (College Avenue East in SC) to the traffic light in Pleasant Gap. Pay special attention to the speed limit in PG.
DO NOT follow GPS directions that tell you to turn onto Reservoir Road!
Go up the mountain on Route 144 and turn right onto Blackhawk Road. Travel on Blackhawk about a mile and take the second road on the right on unmarked Mcbrides Gap Road (Watch for a yellow sign). Be very careful on this turn as the road is narrow and there is a steep drop off on the left. Travel on McBride less than a half mile and turn left on Slack Lane (another sign). Our driveway will be a short distance on the left (another sign).

Great Stay

Jaclin's place is a great stay while in the Penn State area. Just far enough away for a peaceful retreat but close enough to campus. Will definitely book again if I plan another game visit.

Quaint Stay in the Woods

We were delighted to stay at this adorable apartment in the middle of the woods. The place was clean, quiet and well appointed. The owners were accommodating, polite and kind. Very enjoyable!

Great place to stay for a busy weekend.

Perfect Getaway Weekend

The property was very, very clean and the apartment had everything you would need to have a comfortable stay. The hosts were very kind and helpful. The area was very private while also being very close to all of the main attractions in the area like Penn's Cave and some wineries.

Great Place To Stay

This was a very cute & cozy home. Very close to the Penn State campus. This Vrbo is located in the woods, so it was very quiet & relaxing. Would recommend to anyone!

Wonderful, relaxing stay ! So nice to look out the windows and just see trees and hear nature. Fully stocked kitchen and all you need to enjoy your stay. Very gracious hosts as well.

Lovely host and home

The last mile or so of our journey to the home had very clearly identifiable "VRBO" road signs indicating where to turn next, which was very helpful. The host greeted us upon arrival, and reassured us she would be available for anything we may need. The home is quaint and cozy with a nice modern kitchen. We're very happy with our stay.

A Great Nitnany Lion Spot

It is a perfect spot for a short visit to Penn State. 20 minutes out of town, great facility with everything you could need while there. Be sure to listen to the host's directions on how to get to their property, it is almost two miles off of the "beaten road" and well into the woods!

A Gem in the woods

First of all, thank goodness for the VRBO signs! As you wind down a dirt road, a beautiful little cottage in the woods appears! Jacqui and Mike were amazing hosts, providing excellent restaurant recommendations for our Graduation weekend. Well appointed property, gracious hosts made for a wonderful experience!

Fonzie’s cabin

Little apartment above a garage in the woods. Very nice hosts. Extra touches we didn’t expect. Chocolates, coffee, nice size kitchen. Clean. Cozy. Off the beat and path but getting there was fun as well. Only challenge is the Wi-Fi is spotty. So it’s definitely a good place to “disconnect”

Penn State Parents Weekend

The place is one of the nicest rentals we have ever stayed in. The hosts have gone out of their way to ensure all of your needs are met and your expectations are exceeded. The proximity to Penn State's main campus makes it the perfect option for college visit, home game weekends or just a quiet getaway in the picturesque mountains of central Pennsylvania. My wife and will definitely make this our first consideration for our State College visits and would definitely recommend it. You won't be disappointed.

Cute place in the woods

Great VRBO in the woods outside of State College. Place was very well maintained, clean, comfy, cozy…everything my daughter and I needed for a long swim meet weekend. I had to give 4 stars on description only because there’s no Wi-Fi currently and my Verizon cell didn’t work in the house. However my daughters T-Mobile worked just fine. Would definitely recommend!

Cute and Cozy

We enjoyed our stay in the cute and cozy apartment. It was well appointed with everything needed. The kitchen had nice items for cooking and serving. Fluffy towels and toiletries were also provided. The sitting area furniture was very comfortable. Nearby is Center Hall with Brother’s Italian restaurant and a diner. The property is rural, but still convenient to State College.
