Magnificent Vacation Home and Location
Spent the week here in July, 2011, with friends and family. This vacation was one of the best! The vacation home is magnificent! Clean, lots of space, all the amenities needed and more! It is a very inviting family-friendly place! My teenagers and their friends enjoyed the dock side property to be able to jet ski, boat, and fish....as well as the wonderful gameroom for evening entertainment!
The location is superb! A nice quiet cover, yet right off of the open water! I would highly recommend this vacation home to anyone looking for a great getaway!
We have stayed in different houses on the Lake and this spot is superb. The house is on a quiet cove that made for ideal conditions for our 7 and 9 year old kids to tube and knee board. We rented a pontoon boat and it was easy to dock. We enjoyed kayaking, canoeing and stand up paddle boarding to the left of the house back into Salmon Cove (very quiet).
My favorite thing to do was drink coffee on the deck in the morning. You have a long lake and mountain view that is stunning. I also liked running along the quiet, windy (shady!) streets in the morning.
There is plenty of space for outdoor dining and even if you eat indoors you still have nice views of the water. The kitchen was well appointed.
The house is clean and Jay is an excellent owner/property manager. He personally dropped off propane during our stay because the grill was running low.
One fun thing is that a family of ducks made an appearance every day and my kids loved feeding them. We also fished right off the dock. You can pick up worms at Ace Hardware in Center Harbor and catch some sunfish (very easy to do).
The one thing that could be improved is the deck. It's what I would call a "splinter-y" deck. Make sure you pack flip flops or crocs or some other easy to slip on shoe or you will have to deal with tweezers and kids' tears on your vacation. The deck situation is definitely not a big deal, just putting it out there for families with kids. Besides that, this place is ideal for families looking to enjoy a week right on the water.
We had a wonderful time. The location of the house was perfect-beautiful views of the lake and the area was not busy with boats and jet skis. The kids loved swimming in the water and using the paddleboards and kayaks. The house had everything you could wish for. The pool table and table tennis table were a hit with the teenagers in our group. All in all a great house with enough space for 2 families to vacation without getting under each others feet.
Beautiful and serene location! Not a lot of boat traffic in this part of Moltonborough. Enjoyed a really relaxing week.

Excellent house for a family reunion.
Lake access, with sandy beach, is terrific. Kitchen/dining area is well designed for handling a big group. Lower level playroom, with pool, etc., gives grandparents something they can do with the grandkids. The deck is large enough for a big group to enjoy a meal outside.

Will miss it!
Here it is several months after our visit and I happened to look back at this glorious vacation home with fond memories and disappointment that we won't be able to return next year due to our schedules. The home is aptly described by others and represented in the photos, but the memories that this place has provided to all of us are ALMOST as heavenly as the total fun and relaxation of having experienced it. I had my three daughters ages 20-28, son-in-law, 8 mo. grandson and a beau as well as other 20 something friends who visited for an overnight or two. Renting a boat for skiing and tubing from Trexler's marina helped make it a bit more adventuresome, but the kayaks and paddle board were used just as much for fishing and exploration. The wonderful openness of the home and being able to have meals out on the porch with such beautiful scenery and calm put everyone in a stress free and happy state of mind - even with an 8 month old who was seemingly as delighted with the place as we all were.
The "release" that this place provides is simply beyond what you might imagine. There is even that temptation to write a scathing review of the place to keep others away in case we can manage it in 2015, but view this as a public service. And yes, the owners are great too and soooo very easy to deal with and accomodating and appreciative. Enjoy your time you 2014 occupants!

Wonderful home, wonderful setting
We have rented lake houses on Winnipesaukee for 16 years and have stayed at this property for the past three. This house is hands down our favorite. It sits on a quiet but open part of the lake, affording 120° views of the water including a nice long view of the lake. Boating access is very easy and you can enjoy watersports (skiing, tubing) right in front of the property. There is a small beach and a dock providing access to clear swimming and use of the kayaks and row boat. The house is also close to Center Harbor so grocery runs are quick. As for the house itself, it is wonderful. Unlike many rental properties, this one feels like you are being let into the owner's home just as they would enjoy it; it is well decorated and well appointed. Should rainy days intrude (or not) the house has air hockey, pool and ping pong, all in good shape and frequently used by us. The house itself is in very good condition and well laid out with plenty of space. The owner has always been very prompt, friendly and responsive in communications. We look forward to being back next year. Highly recommended.

Outstanding Winnipesaukee Rental
Loved this Lake Winni house rental. Very well equipped, great location, extremely clean and very comfortable. All the comforts of home +. We were a big group but there was plenty of room for the whole family. Owner was great to work with - very responsive and helpful. We have rented numerous houses at the Lake over the past 20 years and all agreed that this house was one of the best!

Perfect for Family Reunion and Families of All Ages
This lovely lake front property was exactly as advertised and completely met our very high expectations. We traveled with our 3 adult children and their spouses as well as with our 3 grandchildren (all less than 5 years old). The home accommodated us perfectly with plenty of private space for everyone. The common areas were spacious and very conducive to the group hanging out together -- pool table, ping pong and a great entertainment center. The home would also be great house to reconnect with old friends and would easily accommodate 4 couples.
The location was perfect for a family with both active adults as well as small children. The 'beach front' was ideal for the littles ones to entertain themselves in a safe and controlled environment while the kayaks were enjoyed by the 'big kids' for hours at a time.
The house was very well appointed with all of the basics and the 'comforts of home'. The owner was a pleasure to work with -- extremely responsive (almost real time) and accommodating. This was our first time visiting this area and the owner served as a terrific 'on line' concierge making valuable recommendations for all sorts of things.
We would highly recommend this property and definitely would stay here again. The description on the web site was very accurate. If you have questions, feel free to contact the owner. He will answer your questions in a timely fashion and with complete candor. All vacation rentals should be this easy and hassle free -- great home; incredible location and accommodating owner ... what more could one ask for?

Great Lake Getaway
We had a wonderful time at the Moltonborough rental location. There were 10 of us in total, 3 of whom were small children. The house was so spacious and very kid friendly - LOTS of fun things to do and plenty of space to spread out and have fun! The property was beautiful and serene. The property owners were as kind as they were accomodating and provided us with a beautiful, week-long respite. The only bad part was having to come home! Thanks again for everything!!

Wonderful Vacation!
Our entire family spent a week at this home in August 2011. We all agreed that it was the best vacation ever and renting this home made that happen. We had children ranging from 2 – 18 years old and there was something for all of them … the beach, the dock, kayaks, pool table, ping pong – truly kept everyone happy. And each of us spent time relaxing on the hammock at one point or another! We were able to spread out in the house – so much space it’s wonderful. The kitchen has everything you need. What we all liked most about this house is that it’s truly a “home” – unlike many houses you rent. Also, the owner is beyond wonderful and helpful. I’d recommend renting this home and we’d all rent it again in a heart beat!

great house, great location
this is our 3rd year in a row at this home is it was great once again. the house is beautiful, big, bright, clean. brand new kitchen this year which was beautiful. we loved the deck and the kids loved the ping pong and pool tables. big enough beach for the kids to make sand castles, and the dock is great for cannonballs into the lake. they have kayaks so you can explore the lake and inlets around the house. the setting is wonderful. you cant really see the neighbors, and when you look out, you get a great view of the lake. you cannot go wrong with this home. we have enjoyed 3 years so far, and plan on a few more at least!

Everything You Need in a Gorgeous Setting
My husband, daughter, and I, plus extended family members, have now enjoyed three vacation weeks at this rental. It lacks nothing! Even last year, when it rained every darn day, we had the Wii, ping pong, and air hockey to amuse us. We love kayaking, and one terrific advantage of the house's setting is that it's right at a stretch of lake where the cigarette boats and JetSkis have to cut their engines, providing a consistently calm section of kayaking water. This also encourages visits from duck families, which are always fun to see. The owners are extremely responsive and helpful. We can't wait to get up there every summer.

Relaxing, entertaining, and beautiful water front home
This was a beautiful home for a family getaway. The house is located waterfront with a cute sandy beach, a dock for fishing and boating and a relaxing yard for sun bathing. The neighbors are not in view from the yard. Our family had a blast enjoying the amenities of the home, including air hockey, pool and table tennis. The house was well furnished and clean. We comfortably accomodated 8 adults and 2 children with beds and rooms left unoccupied. The pictures on the website accurately portray the property. I think any family who rents this home would be happy with their accomodations. There are plenty of things to see and do including the scenic Kancamagus Highway, shopping, dining, and hiking. Our family especially enjoyed breakfast at the Heritage Farm, the sites at the Science Center, and the waterfall at Sabaday Falls. The owner of this property is a pleasure to rent from- We would highly consider renting this property in the future.

About the host
Hosted by Jay Teich
We built this home as a place for our three generations of family to enjoy summer vacations and it's been wonderful. A few years ago, however, we purchased a large horse farm that keeps us busy for much of the summer. We started sharing our home through VRBO and it has been heartwarming to hear about the reunions, anniversaries and celebrations that families have enjoyed here. We put extra effort into helping each family plan a great vacation and are never too busy to answer questions or solve problems. We have put together a team to service the home each Saturday so guests do not need to bring or wash linens, clean the dishes or wait in line for check-ins and outs.
Why they chose this property
We have vacationed in the lakes region of New Hampshire all our lives and chose Ash Cove for our summer home. It is an ideal compromise between the open water of the big lake and the tranquility of the coves. We wake to the cry of the loons, kayak on the quite water in the morning, and ride our jet skis and water ski with our kids in the afternoon. The water is crystal clear and the beach and bottom are sandy. You can dive into deep water from the dock, play on the huge glacial rocks near the beach, and sail on windy days.
What makes this property unique
There are few locations on the 'big lake' that offer so much privacy without a long drive to the store and services. Restaurants and groceries are only 5 minutes by car or 20 minutes by boat. Restaurants ranging from family fast food to gourmet meals are within a few miles.
