Nice. One of the cabins smelled like mold. Was dusty. If not for this our time was perfect.

Glamping at its finest.

Our 2nd visit to timber valley retreat did not disappoint. The property is spacious. The cabins are clean and comfortable. There are plenty of amenities if you forgot something. But best of all it’s the peace you find here. The owners are the nicest people you will find and are happy to help you discover other things to do in the area. Thanks for memories K&T

Amazing place, amazing memories

This is our second time staying at this property. It’s amazing. We are already planning next year. It’s clean, it’s private, and it has EVERYTHING. Plenty of beds, a shower, sinks, covered porch, a playground, sand box, beautiful huge Firepit and it’s on the C&O canal toe path. We can’t say enough good things about Tom and Karen, so thank you to both of them for their excellent hospitality and we’ll see you again next year!

Outstanding Experience at Timber Valley Retreat

We cannot say enough about our stay at Timber Valley Retreat! From the beginning our hosts went above and beyond and thought of everything. They even took the kids for a wagon ride around the property and gave them pumpkins to take home. Even the dogs had their own beds and a jar of treats for their stay. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The property was well kept. The kids loved the playground and beautiful pond for the paddle boat, and we all enjoyed the C&O canal access for hiking and fishing. The property is within minutes of a local country store for groceries as well as the other conveniences found in the town of Clear Spring. Overall a wonderful experience and we can’t wait to return next year!

Glamping at its Finest

Our stay was fantastic! The property owner greeted us and was extremely helpful, gave us a tour of the property, and made sure we were all set. We had a large group of eleven adults celebrating a birthday, and everyone wants to return with other friends. The bunk houses were great, and a couple of us chose to sleep in tents they brought, and the site was also perfect for that. Having the RV trailer was also a game changer, as one member of our party snores like a bear. Air conditioned sleeping arrangements, hot shower, clean bathroom, the spacious kitchen with 2 refrigerators. Perfect for large family gatherings. The land the campsite is on was as beautiful as it was expansive. The second campsite by the natural spring was incredibly cool and a favorite part of the property for most of us. Highly recommend, will definitely be back.

Wonderland Campsite

Timber Valley is an absolute Retreat in beautiful Washington County, Maryland with exceptional hospitality! Karen & Tom treat guests as you would want to be treated, which is their motto. Our club, friends, and family members celebrated our anniversary there and are so glad we picked their site. We wholeheartedly want to thank them for providing us an absolutely wonderful time at a fantastic property site. We honestly felt like we were at a retreat with terrific amenities, great areas to camp, and very comfortable beds to sleep in if you didn’t bring a tent. They have a full service kitchen, shower, bathroom, covered decking to enjoy the outdoors rain or shine, a lot of beds to accommodate large groups, and an awesome fire pit with ample firewood that they provide to guests. They also have terrific trails to walk leading you a beautiful brook and areas you’ll honestly feel are magical. We absolutely recommend staying here for a great camping getaway. Plus, our group looks forward on coming back. Sincerely, CJ

60th Birthday Celebration for Nonno!

This is a beautiful property! Incredible oasis/setting for our special family get together. Two cabins felt like new (including the kids favorite Tanner w/ lofts) and main cabin nostalgic with its own charm. Our 3 generations had great fun preparing meals in the summer kitchen with sink, stove, microwave, 2 fridges and pots, pans & utensils… We also made use the the gas and charcoal grills. We all comfortably had meals together and relaxed and played games on the spacious porch. We were grateful for the opportunity to go on a hay ride and tour and learn a bit of the history of the property and Tom told some heart- warm stories along the way. The newly built event space is awesome! The property is a few minute hike to the river and there is a delightful sparkling clear, spring fed pond with paddle boat. Fantastic playground for the kids and huge fire pit with plenty of room for our large group to sit roasting marshmallows. Nice outdoor shower and bathroom. The hammock was definitely a hit. Thank you Tom and Karen for your warm and caring hospitality, it was a special milestone weekend, one we will hold dear in our hearts!

Camping/Glamping at it's BEST

We were a large group of 17 - 7 adults and 10 kids between 3-9. We can't say enough great things about this campsite. And to be really clear - it poured rain the Saturday we were there and we still had a blast - It's the perfect balance of camping and glamping. Want to sleep in a tent - go ahead! Want to sleep in a bed and listen to rain on a tin roof? You can! Want to cook over the fire only - no worries there is a huge firepit and two charcoal grills! Want a stove instead - it's there! Two refrigerators means you don't have to worry about ice. There is so much to do - a whole private playground, decks, the C&O canal trail, a pond, fishing, hiking, a SECOND secret firepit space! This place is stocked perfectly and the owners are incredibly helpful and communicative. We enjoyed our time here and all the kids and adults are scheduling our trip for next year already. Tom and Karen - we can't thank you enough for a great weekend. We shall return many times!

Best time ever

Booked this place for a family get away/reunion. I wanted to give this place a one star rating for accuracy of the listing. This place is more special than what the listing describes. It starts with the tour of the cabins and the amenities withTom the Host. There are so many little hiking trails that lead to the pond and an a spot the we called the Hobit area. Its filled with tall moss covered rocks and is rumored to be where the local Mennonites used to go to stay cool. Wildlife from birds to frogs to ducks to groundhogs to deer were seen throughout our time there, literally Trains to Cranes. During one of our hikes the grandkids found a grounded redtail hawk. Wildlife sanctuary came and got her. We were very secluded even with the canal less than a stones throw away. The facilities had everything you would need except charcoal. I suggest paper plates, napkins, & utensils. This place is such a gem, best described as outdoors with air conditioning. A communal experience with nature and modern conveniences. Tom and Karen have so many little hidden treasures to share that will make your experience that much better. Make sure Tom shares the story of the sunflowers. My group included my 92 year old dad. He was able to move around easily. There were swings, sandboxes, and things to climb to keep the kids busy tge whole time. Hammocks and cornhole for the adults. Tom and Karen have put together a retreat for everyone. Look forward to staying again!

In 2021 we decided to open up Timber Valley Retreat to the public to showcase our little gem in the woods.
