So serene and comfortable

We loved staying at the Mountain Forest retreat. The house is very comfortable and set back in the trees. It’s quiet with wildlife roaming about. The hot tub was very relaxing. I definitely recommend it.

Perfect getaway

We took a few days here *just* as fall touched earth. This divine little spot on a secluded road in a quiet valley was exactly what we needed to soothe our souls. I knew we were in good hands when we arrived and there was an industrial container of Taijin on the counter. And everything went up from there. Expansive record collection — everything from Tchaikovsky to Tupac with the Talking Heads wedged in between. The wood stove kept us warm, cozy and comforted as the neighborhood experienced the first hard frost of the year. And a long soak in the hot tub watching the stars and sipping a dirty martini was the perfect capstone each evening. Thanks so much for making this divine spot available. We’re already looking at days next Spring to return!

Cabin tucked away in the woods

Great cabin to get away. We were here for our son's baseball tournament at Cooperstown. Most of the games were within 30-35 minutes from the cabin. No cell service so make sure you key in your GPS while connected to wi-fi prior to leaving.

VERY DISAPPOINTING STAY

Host did not tell us how to get into house, so extremely late getting in, after long trip. Stove was nasty. One bathroom sink drained very slowly. Another bathroom sink had a leak. Grass needed to be mowed, called host and she did get someone to come mow. Window unit not put in correctly, so bugs were getting in. Electricity went off one time for 10 hours...very hot night trying to sleep. The house had a generator that did not kick on. When husband checked it, it had no oil and had not been serviced since 2020. Called host and she said she would take care of ASAP. Second time we woke up to no electricity on the morning we were leaving, so could not shower, roll hair, see to shave or put makeup on. We had a plane to catch early. When I striped sheets that morning my pillow was disgusting. Closets so clutter you could not hang clothes up. I don't know NY codes, but there were several things not up to Texas housing codes. House could be very cute, if she would get rid of all the junk and get a good housecleaner. Very disappointing. Will not stay there again. Host was very apologetic saying she was a new homeowner. She offered to buy one evening's meal. Wasn't sure how she wanted us to collect that.

Winter getaway in a stunning mountain home

This home was one of the most beautiful we have ever stayed in! A true reflection of an expressive individual, the house was so unique in its design and décor. Full of natural light during the day through all the windows with views of snow and nature right outside, the inside was full of warmth in the evening by the glow of the wood burning stove. Sarah had great communication about any concerns that we had and was quick to reply to assure our happiness and comfort. The greatest moment was sitting out on the last night in the hot tub, seeing a shooting star across a bespeckled sky. We truly appreciated this trip. Thank you!

Beautiful, cozy house!

Sarah’s place is really special. The photos don’t do this place justice! It’s so beautifully decorated and there’s a very nice, cozy, homey vibe. There’s a lot very thoughtful touches :). I would highly recommend Sarah’s place!!!!

Secluded getaway

We loved our stay at Sarah’s home! The cabin is nestled among the trees and feels very secluded and quiet. We enjoyed the new cedar hot tub and fire pit. The property is eclecticly/artfully decorated but not cluttered. We especially loved playing records each morning and night. It’s a good place for two couples or a small family. The bedrooms are on separate floors so you get some space. 10/10 would stay again!

Countryside Escape

This was the perfect place to destress and slow down from the city life. The large property was great to hike and explore. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous and all the furnishings in the house made it feel cozy and welcoming. The wood burner was a great touch. Can't wait to be back!
