Premier Building at Purgatory - Ski in/Ski Out - Slopeside Views

Our 3 bedroom, 3 bath 1,550 sq ft condo (Unit 407) in Purgatory Lodge offers the ultimate convenience in winter or summer, as it is located in the heart of Purgatory Village only 50 yards from the primary high-speed lift to the top of the mountain, the Purgatory Express. This is the finest ski-in/ski-out location at the resort and includes a ski locker close to the slopes.

Purgatory Lodge contains Durango Mountain Resort's premium amenities including outdoor heated pool with slide, hot tub, workout facility, and family game room adjacent to a private restaurant and bar. There is one assigned parking space in the heated garage on the ground floor of the building.

The single level condo is located on the 4th floor (elevator access) and offers amazing mountain and ski slope views. The condo was professionally decorated and each bedroom contains a flat screen TV as well as high end furnishings and linens. The deck off the Main Living Space has awesome views and an electric grill (gas grills are not allowed in Purgatory Lodge).

The Lodge's upper floor, which includes the private bar and game room, is closed during the off-season when the ski resort isn't open (fall and April and May)

Would recommend a few things but overall a good stay.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Love the layout and perfect for our family. Love all the amenities. The only two things I would have pause on renting it again: 1) the hot water is only warm. Made for uncomfortable showers/baths. Hot water is a necessity. 2) the lighting in bedrooms and master bath are way too dim. The bulbs need to be brighter, specifically in master room and bathroom. It was too dark in there. And there were no missing bulbs - it’s just the bulb choice that needs to be considered. The only reason I chose “no” on recommending to a friend is mainly these 2 issues.

This place has a beautiful view of the ski hill, access to the exercise room, private bar, hot tub etc is nice. We were told an electric BBQ grill would be there, it was not, but they did respond and had one delivered and assembled the next day. The kitchen is well stocked.

Great summer vacay!

There are fun activities on property and the weather is amazing-about 10 degrees cooler than Durango. Durango activities are an easy 10-30 minutes away from property. Kids enjoyed the alpine slide, mountain rollercoaster, and lake activities.

Beautiful surroundings and accommodations

We absolutely loved this condo and the fact the resort was so quiet considering it was off-season. It felt very much like home. The only thing that could’ve made it even better would’ve been to have a working coffee maker. I had even reached out beforehand to ask about the coffeemaker but we could never get it to turn on. I mentioned the issue in text but nothing was done to correct it during our stay.

Great time

Came here for the fourth year in a row and stayed at this place for the first time. Love the location and the convenience to all the amenities in the village. Access to the restaurant, bar, and breakfast was awesome. Family and friends had a great time together.

Staying in the main lodge was great - take elevator down to private locker and exit to lifts. In the evening children came out to ride sleds. Heated pool and hot tub. Slope views from all windows - great family lodging and vacation.

Amazing winter wonderland!

We loved staying in this unit. We had a perfect view of the pool/hot tub, as well as the ski base covered in snow! It was so relaxing and very quiet. We couldn't hear the snow cats at all, even though they were very close. When we had a problem with no water to the unit, I was able to call someone at VRC even though it was after the workday, and they answered and took note of the problem. Luckily the problem was fixed within the hour by the building, but, the fact that they answered even after 5 o'clock was such a relief. The bunk beds were a hit for the kids, and it was nice because it was away from the main part of the condo which kept our kids noise to a minimum for the adults. We loved this unit and plan to rent again in the future.

Fabulous condo with plenty of room! Gorgeous views and so very comfortable and cozy. All the extras that made it the best condo we have ever rented for skiing. Very convenient and literally right at the bottom of the main lift!

fantastic!

We have rented hundreds of places over the years. This one is by far the best. The place was immaculate, roomy, and well appointed. The kitchen lacked nothing. The staff we worked with were on point and responsive. The location and view, priceless. i hope to rent this same place next year!!!! The only problem is we keep on having grandkids, so we may outgrow the place.
