Whether you're looking for an escape from the city, visiting family or just passing through, this modern cabin is the perfect retreat. With the lake just across the street, bonfire with everything you need to make s'mores, watch the stars on the back deck, stream your favorite Netflix shows, bring your fur-babies and keep them safe in the fenced yard, relax on our luxury mattresses and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning in the screened in porch. Perfect for us

The location was perfect for being really close to the lake. We felt safe and tucked away. Loved the screen room to sit out and listen to the rain. Hosts came out to tend to a few things like the screen door and the pin pad battery

Great Rental

Being so close (less than a block) from Lake Shawnee was amazing. Great way to get in relaxing walks with our pup throughout the day. Easy access to the interstate. Older but super comfortable house with awesome shower water pressure. The lights on the screened in porch were a great touch. Will definitely book here again.

Quaint House, Great Location

Perfect little house for our trip to watch softball. Short walk to the Lake Shawnee Softball Fields. Trails around the lake were great for morning walks. Convenient location with restaurants and shopping nearby. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. Owner was readily available. We would definitely stay here again!

New Year’s Retreat

This little house by Lake Shawnee was a great launching off point for seeing family in the area, touring museums, and most of all resting from the Holidays. Walking the dog along the lake really helped me decompress from the Holidays and recenter and reset for the new year. The inside of the house was exceptionally clean. Backyard could benefit from a leaf raking. That said, I highly recommend this place.

It was nice,it rained most of our stay, so we couldn’t take advantage of the lake and screened in porch. Outside number on the house would be nice. We stopped at the neighbors first.

Perfect Hidden Gem

Pleasant Stay

I booked this VRBO for my brother and his family who was in town for a birthday party. The VRBO was clean, in a safe location and exactly how it was featured on the website. Nice location, clean and all the amenities you need. I would recommend property owner replace window coverings with more privacy window coverings. Loved the covered porch and location!

Base camp for Unbound Gravro

This was our second year in a row staying at this place for the Unbound gravel race in Emporia. The bedrooms are spacious and comfy, but the screen porch is our favorite place to hang out. It’s located on a short culdesac close to the lake, so there’s no traffic buzzing by. It was a great base camp for our cycling adventure.

Worked for us. Could use a long dresser in the MB to put your small stuff and personal bath items as there is not a vanity in the bathroom. Laundry area needs a good cleaning, dryer lint and spilled laundry soap that hasn’t been cleaned up. Didn’t cook but appeared to have most everything one might need to cook a basic meal.

My wife and I grew up and work in the Topeka area. We have a newborn and two fur-babies that keep us on our toes. During pregnancy, we decided we wanted to try a new adventure together. With my background in real estate and her creative ability to make something come to life, we turned a house into an experience!

Why they chose this property

We live just down the road from this property. But it’s not just the convenience that sold us, it’s the opportunity for guests. We absolutely love what Lake Shawnee has offered us in the time we’ve lived here. From the walking trails, to the tennis courts, 4th of July fireworks show, new bark park, venues we’ve used for All of our events and more! And the fact that it’s right across the street is incredible.

We always had family come in town during our wedding functions and there was absolutely NO WHERE to stay on the SE side of town, so we saw a need and wanted to help fix it.
