Maritza and John were such lovely hosts - they helped make sure we were comfortable, lent us beach chairs and an umbrella, had a beautiful and spacious VRBO. Would definitely return again next year!!
Maritza and John were very friendly hosts and we even met their lovely dog Sara! Central location to Greenport. You have access to the top floor of the house where it is both homely and inviting. Would stay here again
This charming apartment is well appointed, has friendly owners and beautiful gardens, and is in a great location—walking distance to North Ferry and Greenport activity. Highly recommend.
We returned this summer for a short stay in Greenport, and this place was perfect. Walkable to town, one minute from the beach, and the apartment had every amenity we could think of. Maritza couldn’t be nicer or more welcoming. We hope to be back next year :)
Needed a place to stay for a friends wedding- and found this gem.
Nicely appointed- they thought of everything!

Wonderful weekend
We had the most perfect spring weekend stay in this lovely apartment. The location and accommodations were ideal, and our young children adored the beach and playground just down the street. The Winkers are superb hosts!
Hands down one of the best spots in Greenport you could ask for. It’s incredibly close to the beach, and a spacious and beautiful home!
Maritza and John could not be lovelier nor more helpful. I cannot recommend staying here more!
We absolutely loved it here! The house is beautiful and Maritza and John could not have been more accomodating. Great location as it is quiet and only a short walk to the Shelter Island Ferry and shops/restaurants.
The apartment is very clean and tastefully decorated. Kitchen is large and well equipped. Owners are very friendly and helpful. We rally enjoyed our stay.
As always our stay was perfect. Over the years John and Maritza have made us feel so welcome each time we stay. The space is perfect for a weekend away to relax and unwind and enjoy all that the North Fork has to offer.
The location was close to everything.
The space was perfect for 2 couples. It was clean, spacious, and just a wonderful place to stay. But above all the hosts were phenomenal and so accommodating. They went above and beyond to make sure we were doing okay and made us feel comfortable.
My wife and the other couple who stayed with us agree this was a great space with wonderful hosts!
I highly recommend!

Family Wedding
The apartment was perfect. We spent the weekend in Greenport attending a family wedding. The property is comfortable and nicely decorated. It's location was convenient to town and the wedding venue (Kontokosta Winery). I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this property to friends and family.
It was a lovely place to stay convenient location but the apartment is above the owners house in the same building. Essentially you are staying upstairs in these peoples home.
Stayed with Maritza and John over Memorial Day weekend. They were super friendly and accommodating, met us upon arrival and gave us a tour of the property and answered all questions.
The property is located only a few doors down from the water and a 5-10 min walk or bikeride into the village. The property itself was lovely and had historical charm, but also everything we needed to enjoy ourselves (comfy beds, Washer/Dryer, beach chairs, coffee maker, Netflix!). Would highly recommend!
It was fantastic. The home was beautiful, the hosts were friendly, the location was great.
We loved the property. We came for Mother’s Day weekend with my 5 year old son and 70s- ish mother in law. Was very comfortable for all. We could walk my son to the playground and water in the morning in less than 5 minutes and then into town in about ten /15 minutes later in the day for ice cream, shopping etc. The hosts were lovely and helpful and the apartment was very cute, clean spacious and well taken care of. We plan to come back!
We spent a wonderful 5 days in this beautiful home. John and Maritza are the most gracious hosts, offering recommendations and good cheer. The house is 1/2 block from the beach, or 1 block to the lagoon, which we also enjoyed. It is approximately a 15 minute walk or quick drive into town. The home is ideally situated. The kitchen was well-stocked with utensils, cookware and dishware; each bedroom has a sitting room/living room so there is plenty of privacy. Would love to return to this lovely home!

Peaceful getaway
Apartment is private second floor of beautiful renovated house. Quiet, peaceful. Two nice bedrooms with comfortable beds. Nice kitchen space with table for four. Two living room areas, one with flatscreen TV and DirectTV. Clean and nice bathroom.
So close to the beach with nice park. Walk down to beach with coffee and sit on the dock in the morning. Short walk from town. Be sure to eat at the Frisky Oyster!!
Wonderful weekend getaway, highly recommended!

Beautiful appartment in victorian house
I am writing this review after our second visit this summer. The first time at property was July 4th, second time August 7, 2009.
The place is great, well kept and has every little thing you can think you may need while away from your own place. House is owner occupied. Maritza and John - the owners are extremely nice and getting out of their way to make you enjoy your stay. You need an advise on dining ot getting arround, want to do some kayaking or use bikes to get around...just name it. This being said you have your total privacy, enjoy BB in separate manucured fenced yard, ets. Almost forgot, the beach is 3-4 minutes away.
OK now i start worry that want be able to find an opening next time want to go :)))
Anyway, I recommend this place if you want a quet get-away.

Perfect in every way!
This rental was perfect in every way! The pictures of the rooms don't do it justice. The neighborhood is lovely. The rooms are all updated, clean and fresh. The flat has charm and PLENTY of room for 4 people. There are two bedrooms - each with a sitting room attached. There is also a nice sized, fully equipped kitchen with an eat-in dining area. Our family of 4 had breakfast there every morning and were very comfortable. The bathroom is updated, and fresh. The home is divided into two flats. The rental is on the second floor. Very private. I think it was about 1 1/2 blocks walking to the sweetest little beach with a small pier. Beautiful! Also walking distance to town where there are plenty of fun little shops. The North Ferry Company runs a small ferry from town out to Shelter Island (about 10 minutes) where we then got a delicious lunch from Marie Eiffel Market. We had several delicious meals at local restaurants (1943 Pizza Bar and Lucharito's). We flew from California, rented a car at Newark and drove straight out. There are lots of pie/fruit stands along the way. We stopped at Briermere Farms for a strawberry pie and Love Lane Kitchen for dinner. We were only there for 2 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks to John and Maritza for your hospitality! It was a great start to our New York vacation!!
My husband John and I both enjoyed busy careers for over thirty years in New York City.. John, good with all things mechanical worked both with his hands and in management in the electrical industry. I have always enjoyed understanding people ,art and nature. The Human Resources profession was my passion working with people and extraordinary companies in Fashion, Fine Jewelry, and Art. Together we enjoy making people happy..so here we are, hoping to meet interesting people and doing everything we can to help our guests enjoy their time in our home.
Why they chose this property
John and I chose Greenport Village because of my love of antiques and wonderful 'unspoiled' older homes, while enjoying an innocent and simple quality of life in the Village. John's love of all things in or near the water.. boating, fishing, swimming... fresh seafood....The Long Island Sound and Peconic Bay made it a simple choice with countless activities to enjoy.
What makes this property unique
Walk to all , owners provide high chair and baby bjorn crib Beach and park six is houses away. Walk to village and transportation ,over 50 vineyards within 20 miles
