About this property

Welcome to 12 acres of the rest and relaxation you deserve!

Come experience Fern Holler!

PLEASE NOTE:

-NO ATVS INCLUDING 4 WHEELERS AND DIRT BIKES, FIREARMS, OR FIREWORKS ARE ALLOWED ON THE PROPERTY FOR ANY REASON UNLESS APPROVED BY THE OWNER.

-The Barn has a set of narrow stairs leading up to the loft bedroom. This may not be ideal for guests with mobility issues.

-There is a twin size rollaway bed available for the Barn at no charge if requested at booking.

-The Glamper sleeps 6 comfortably or up to 7 if the couch is converted.
IT DOES COST AN ADDITIONAL $100/NIGHT PLUS A $100 CLEANING FEE. IF A RENTER ONLY WANTS TO RENT THE BARN THEN THE GLAMPER WILL REMAIN LOCKED AND UNATTENDED DURING THEIR STAY. IF THE BUNKS ARE NOT USED THEN THE CLEANING FEE WILL BE DISCOUNTED TO $50.

This is a fully private 12 acre site with everything you need to get away and spend quality time with those you love without the hustle and bustle you may be used to!

The Barn is a fully renovated jewel!
You’ll find a beautiful tile floor on the main level and a patina tin ceiling throughout. There is a handmade live edge bar, coffee table and end tables. It even has an attached laundry room!

On rainy days, enjoy the 55 inch TV with a PlayStation 3 and an 4K Apple TV with high speed WiFi in the living room or the flat screen with a Roku upstairs from the adjustable Queen bed. There are also books and board games or you can watch the hummingbirds fly outside the window from the comfort of an oversized couch or you can sit and listen to the rain hit the tin roof from the covered swing or hot tub just outside your door.
NOTE: A new shower/tub combo has replaced the previous cast iron tub for your convenience.

The A.C. units on both levels are cold and the beds, an adjustable queen and two twins upstairs, are comfortable with all new linens.

Outside the Barn is the family fun area with a full size volleyball/badminton net. The supplies for other activities are available as well. Each site has its own charcoal grill and there is a hammock and picnic table at the barn as well as another fire ring with 4 custom Adirondack chairs that are perfect for those summer nights with family and friends!
(Firewood and charcoal are provided)
We have a new playground set for the littles and a glow in the dark badminton set!
Four long range walkie talkies as well as a Monster Glo Bluetooth speaker are provided for your stay.

At night the sky is clear and full of stars, perfect for kicking back and star gazing while the kids catch fireflies in the field.

At the Glamper, (for an additional cost), you can enjoy the attached deck and porch swing with a private view into the woods. There is also a fire pit with 4 custom Adirondack chairs for those chilly nights.
Inside, there is an Apple TV 4K for streaming, a dvd player, and entertainment center for the living room and bedroom that is capable of playing music inside and/or outside. There is also a full kitchen, dining area, and bathroom with a shower/tub. The back bedroom has 4 bunk beds and a flat screen tv with a Roku 4 ready for you to sign into your favorite apps. There is also a Nintendo 64 with games for all you retro gamers!
-The couch can also be converted to a bed making the Glamper capable of sleeping up to 7!
There are no neighbors in sight, no distractions and no noise except for the songbirds enjoying the suspended bird feeder cable in the field. You might also hear the owls chatting throughout the day and night. Check the pictures for other potential visitors passing through. This part of the woods loses power often, but not Fern Holler! There is a 18kw generator now ensuring that you never lose power during your stay in the boonies!

Try and find the two silly tree faces! One is next to the “reading nook” where you can watch the creek pass by. The other is next to one of the winding paths, which leads you to “The Island”, a beautiful, shady oasis and the perfect place to splash around! If you’re brave enough, cross the bridge to the other river rock path.

NOTE-pets are allowed with an extra $25 non-refundable deposit.
Please-no pets on the beds and clean up after them as you normally would.

We can't wait to host you at Fern Holler!

Best family vacation

We absolutely loved our week. All of my kids loved being able to run outside and just enjoy nature. It was perfect to have my mom in the glamper with her dog while we stayed in the barn with ours. It gave her, her own space away from everyone. Great location to run in to town for anything you need. Charlotte communicated quickly and efficiently. Everything we needed was there for us We would love to come back another time.

Lovely, relaxing, away and yet connected

We really loved this place and we’re now now considering it as our go to destination with our pups. The creek and the surrounding forest were so beautiful and we felt like we belonged. Charlotte was awesome making aure that we have everything that we need and that our stay was comfortable and relaxing. We’re definitely coming back and I’m recommending this place to anyone that want to be away from the crowds and still have the best accommodations. We’re missing this place so much and really felt like home there. Fern Holler Rocks!!!

Amazing Getaway

We could not have asked for more. The kids and dog loved having space to roam and a creek to romp in. Absolutely amazing. My 6 year old is already asking to go back. Great family time over Memorial weekend.

Fantastic Place

The property was beautiful. Instructions were clear, kind, and wholesome. I couldn't have asked for anything more. I have stayed in dozens of places traveling, and this was one of, if not the best experiences I have ever had.

Pleasant getaway

The property was isolated and bucolic. The creek was full and it’s sounds soothing. The rain on the tin roof was also relaxing. The cabin lost power, but the generator kicked on. The hot tub and solitude were just what we had hoped for when booking, and our red heeler had a blast in the large pasture. Would book again.

Little gem

The property was well maintained. I appreciated all the attention to the little details. We felt like there was a treasure to be found around every corner. The beds were comfortable, we all slept well. The stream and little trails with benches and a bridge were so cute. Such a nice, quiet place to get away. It was all set up for total relaxation and fun. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Another Magical Trip

This was our 2nd time staying at this magical property. We had an absolutely wonderful time, and the host was extremely responsive and accommodating. The location and amenities can't be beat! They have provided everything you could need, and more! The grounds were well maintained, paths through the woods were visible and clear, and I didn't have to worry about my kiddos getting into poison ivy when walking through the easily accessed areas to the creek. Our dog was able to be off leash the entire trip, and thoroughly enjoyed the open field for fetch, and we all had the best time exploring the beautiful creek. We roasted marshmallows by the fire, had numerous animal visits in the mornings and evenings, enjoyed the hot tub everyday, and the glamper was a huge hit for my Mom and littles. This rustic cabin/barn getaway gets an A+ from us!

Perfect mountain getaway

The property itself is amazing, seclusion and privacy but only 20 minutes from town. Our dogs loved running loose in the yard and splashing in the creek, they had the time of their lives. We spent the days shopping, hiking and sightseeing, with endless things to do nearby. We started and ended every day in the hot tub, which left us feeling relaxed and rejuvenated! Charlotte goes out of her way to make sure you have what you need - plenty of firewood and all the essentials. She even left a beautiful bouquet of flowers for us. We truly felt like we were at a home away from home and we hope to return again in the future. You won’t regret staying here!

You won’t want to get out of the property

It was an amazing Thanksgiving weekend! The property is beautiful and so comfortable, it pretty much has everything you need to the point you won’t want to leave it. A creek right behind your cabin , we enjoyed that so much! a good walk, a yummy breakfast and even some mimosas . We went for a short hike (within the property) we enjoyed some s’mores by the fire pit. Our son is 6 and our American bulldog is 7 , they both had the time of their lives! My parents stayed at the glamper and they loved it! Plus it gave them some privacy while we stayed at the cabin. Both families have small cars and we had zero issues to get there even by crossing the creek , so no big cars are needed to ge there (that was one of my concerns ) Thank you so much! It is in our books to be back :)

Cabin in the woods

There are many things that were great about our stay. The property owner couldn’t have been any nicer or more helpful. We were able to get an early check in and when the weather turned ugly she proactively reassured us about the back up power generator. She even left a welcome note and lovely bouquet of fresh flowers. While the space inside the cabin is a bit tight, the space outside is vast! Before the rain started we really enjoyed the playground, a little hike, and breakfast around the fire pit. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate so we had the spend about half of our stay inside. The small size of the living space would have been no problem at all had the weather been nice, but that’s just not something anyone can control. One thing I will add for grandparents who aren’t as spry as they used to be or travelers with younger children, the stairs up to the sleeping area are quite narrow and steep and have a taller length between steps than we are used to. Our 4 year old grandson managed them pretty well after we got used to them. The grandparents struggled with them a bit more, especially on those middle of the night bathroom visits since it is downstairs. But if you are traveling with kids a little older and adults a little sprier, you probably won’t mind them at all.

Definitely a Diamond, with a bit of rough

This place Was everything I needed it to be for a getaway with my partner. Cute little house, tons of open space, woods right off the patio, with a hot tub underneath. It was only 15-20 minutes away from “civilization” when we wanted/needed it. The small bit of critiques I have: -could’ve used a tad bit more cleaning, ran into a few cobwebs while getting in, and found a bit of stuff barefoot in the floor. -Could definitely use more of a disclaimer in the descriptions about access to the cabin. While it said there was a small creek to Ford, I didn’t understand how big of a deal it is for my small car. This is definitely a place you wanna access with a truck or SUV. -There also wasn’t any disclaimer about the staircase up to the bedroom, it’s clearly a custom job, and while great in construction, the steps are very large, and it is very steep, definitely not some thing for someone who has a bit of mobility issues like myself.

Last minute getaway.

A fantastic find for a much needed week away! Our 1 year old and 4 year old thought we were in a magical forest. There was so much to do, and everything we needed right on the property, plus plenty of privacy. It felt like there was no one around for miles. The location is great with a quick drive to everything. The owner was very responsive. We cannot wait to come back, and have already started planning our next stay.

Why they chose this property

Why this property?

You can breathe here.

You can do you, that's why.

What makes this property unique

We have a brand new playground, floating patio, custom outdoor furniture and a few extra swimming holes, courtesy of an amazing guest from the past. (These are just additions to the already established awesomeness of this property)
