Welcome to our Winterferienhaus-that's German for Winter Vacation Home! Nestled in the woods near Otsego Lake. Long term rental available for a discount! Our beautiful split floor plan wilderness style home offers 2300 sq feet with 4 bedrooms and 2 full baths. Sleeps 8-10 people. NEW AC (3 Mini-Split units), NEW roof, NEW gas water heater, NEW mammoth refrigerator, NEW Septic, and updated electric. All NEW flooring throughout. NEW large capacity washer and dryer. NEWLY updated guest bathroom. The sprawling backyard is partially fenced in with a NEW lawn. There are 4 heating zones with 4 thermostats for ideal heating. Hot water heat throughout the home in addition to 3 Mini-Split systems which offers heat as well as AC. Bunk beds are full over full. Fully stocked kitchen, laundry and loads of storage. All linens and towels provided. The north wing offers private master king bedroom with reading room and full bath. The south wing offers 3 large bedrooms (2 w/queen beds, 1 with full over full bunk beds) and full bath with shower and deep tub. Spacious living room with comfortable seating. Large capacity washer and dryer. 2 stall garage. Base board hot water heat PLUS Mini-split heating and cooling.-3 units throughout the home. Ample parking with room for snowmobile trailer(s). Desk and printer for your use. The Rails-to-trails is out our front door!! Public access to Otsego Lake is 2 blocks away. This is our summer vacation home so we hope you enjoy it as much as we do! Great location for your winter sports. Ski resorts all w/i minutes from the house. Pure Michigan!

It is strongly recommended that you review our cancellation policy and it's always a good idea to purchase TRAVEL INSURANCE. We can not accept last minute cancellations due to not having enough snow.

Beautiful and Comfortable setup

This place was perfect for a family stay and close to everything. The rooms and kitchen setup was very nice and the backyard is huge for kids to play and grown up’s to hand on the fire pit.

Perfect family getaway

This house turned out to be the perfect choice for us. Our granddaughters loved their bedrooms. Each bedroom was very spacious and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed and so much more. The only thing you should need to bring are the ingredients for your recipes. The homeowners were very responsive, both prior to and during our stay, to any of our questions. An added bonus - the attached garage with a door opener and remote. A luxury during the snowy Michigan winters.

Winter trip

Excellent all around! Property was beautiful and welcoming. Girls enjoyed feeding the birds! Plenty of space in every room for all of our gear for snowmobiling. Great spaces for us to eat together and relax together. Julie and Peter were extremely responsive and understanding of anything that came up! Thank you so much! We will be back for our next trip!

Attention to Details

This place was very clean and the attention to details was not unnoticed. Nice kitchen supplies, nice towels and everything labeled. I appreciated the attention to organization that made it easier to find things. If we visit this area in the future I would stay here again:) Our was to go snowmobiling and while there wasn’t enough snow in this area we found a place in Boyne that has a trail that is protected in the woods. We also did snow tubing in Grayling because of places near Gaylord being sold out. Hope that helps for anyone looking for similar activities in the area.

Excellent Spacious Rental

My family rented this house and we spent some time at it as well. They loved the multiple bird feeders by the windows and enjoyed drinking coffee in the mornings and watching the wildlife right outside their windows. This rental seemed even larger than the pictures showed and it was perfect for what we needed. The owners were very helpful and quick to respond if we had any questions or concerns.

I (Peter) was born and raised in the Soo (Sault St. Marie) and Julie was born and raised in Gaylord and spent her summers on Otsego Lake. We spend our Winters in Florida where we enjoy the more acceptable temperatures! We often say, "This is why we live here"! We take pride in our homes and work hard to update and maintain them. We hope you enjoy your stay as much as we do!

Nestled in the woods off of Otsego Lake, you will be taken in by the warm atmosphere of our home and modern rustic décor and log furniture. We are centrally located to all your Summer and Winter sports. Boyne Mountain is only 1/2 hour away in addition to our 2 local resorts right here in Gaylord. You will enjoy the beauty of our Northern birds at our bird feeders through our large picture window and you may even see an occasional deer as well. Long term rental available for a discount!!
