The town of Vonnas is renowned for its famous 3-star chef Georges Blanc and its two large golf courses nearby. The center of the village is a mixture of old structures located in the center and more recent structures on the outskirts. These recent buildings are located in different locations depending on the construction period: the 20th century buildings are mainly located to the south of the city center. North of the railway line, a district that emerged towards the end of the 2000s allowed Vonnas to develop demographically. Every Thursday morning, between the market square and the church, the weekly market takes place54. Every week, around fifty traders sell clothing, food, shoes, flowers, haberdashery and other products.
At the end of May, the fashion rides set up on Place Ferdinand-de-Béost to liven up the village center.
A month later, on the 1st Sunday of July, the Pancake and Horse Festival has been celebrated since 1995. This day is enlivened by the sale of vonnassian and sweet pancakes, by horse parades and equestrian shows. However, other activities are available.
Vonnas has always been a trading village, particularly in the 19th and 20th centuries when commercial life was concentrated around the Market Square. The shopping district is today occupied by the Blanc village, all of the buildings being managed by Georges Blanc who thus took over the heart of the village. Today there are many shops in the center and on the outskirts. There are two supermarkets, a Carrefour Market and an Intermarché.
