This cottage had everything we needed for our overnight stay. It is well stocked with the basics.
The beds were very comfortable.
Our interactions with the owner were pleasent.
Thank you
Indide was great . It was very clean and well kept. The outside needs some work. The porch light needs to be fixed and both screen doors need to tightened. They did have a light to see to get in in the evening which was very helpful since we were out past dark. The bed was very comfortable and the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. We liked the place it just needs a little outside care like I mentioned. We liked that it had all the appliances you would have at home. We would stay again if we were in the area. The host made a suggestion for a place to dine for breakfast and a cider donut place as well. All check in instructions were accurate and on point.
We stayed at this property for one night with three adult children. Overall the place was neat and clean on the inside, and the price was right, but there were a few things that made me grateful we weren’t staying longer. The master bedroom has no door, and we weren’t able to open any of the upstairs windows. The shower also didn’t function (unless 5 adults completely overlooked something?) which wasn’t a pleasant surprise…There was a terrible odor in one of the bedroom closets that we quickly realized must be a dead animal in the wall. Obviously that isn’t the fault of the owner, but a heads-up not to open the closet (or some air freshener…or the ability to open the bedroom windows) would have been nice! That combined with a half-full trash bin in the kitchen makes me wonder how much attention the place gets between guests. The WiFi info that was sent to us was incorrect, and while the owner responded very quickly when I messaged him, the fact that the info hasn’t been updated in two years (my inference) also suggests there’s not a lot of attention paid to the property. As an aside, the listing says the place sleeps 10, and we cannot figure out how! There are two queen beds upstairs and two queen pullout sofas downstairs. There’s literally nowhere else to sleep, so that’s a puzzle! Again, it was clean enough and doable for a night, but we wouldn’t be in a hurry to return.

There was lots of space for our family to spread out! We found some neat local history only a few miles away. Excellent communication from the host!
While there are some things mentioned before that could be improved with new, this was a great stay for the price. The place was clean and well kept. A good value with plenty of space for us in between the basketball tournament games. We’d definitely stay here again next time.
This was our second time using the property. We had a large group of six visiting family in the area. The house was clean and inviting, same as the first time, and was a delightful stay again. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, Fairhaven is a beautiful town, and the owner continues to work on a beautify the property even more.
The location of the house was on a nice quiet street, but the owner of the rental house has a rooster that they house directly behind the rental property. It crows all the time during the day, but the worst part is that it starts around 5:30am and just keeps going off and on for the rest of the daylight hours. My husband has insomnia and so he was so overtired on our trip. It also woke my son up, too. The rooster crows repeatedly - not just one time, and not even the air conditioner can drown it out. I am not sure why this rooster is not noted in the listing as it completely changed what would have been a great experience. We specifically stay in air b&bs instead of hotels because noise bothers my husband and makes it hard or impossible for him to sleep. If we had been told there was a rooster that crows starting at 5:30 am, we would have booked a different property. So, although the house is nice, beware the rooster - he won't let you sleep in on your vacation!
The house had everything we needed for our stay. We cook our own meals & the kitchen was well equiped. The neighborhood is very quiet, except we chuckled everytime we heard the off key crow of the rooster, after we were awake! He's not an early riser.
I stayed at this property for a week while working in the area with relatives. Joshua and Dennis were very pleasant and responsive. The guest house was part of the main house but separated by a carport so it was secluded enough to feel autonomous. The home had everything I needed. The home was available for the day prior to my booking so Joshua offer it to me free of charge for the extra night. I accepted and appreciated the offer. I would recommend this property.
Enjoyed lake bomoseen and the drive up to Burlington

This property needs some attention/Know what to expect
I hate leaving bad reviews but I think it's important people know what to expect. This is definitely an older property in need of updating, and not a quiet one. The nearby train whistle went off starting at 6am, and the owners who live on the property have young active children. For some that might not be an issue, but there are definitely some things that should be addressed. The property was not thoroughly cleaned from the last visitor. Furniture including the bed in the main bedroom is very uncomfortable. The sofas in the living room are terrible - finding an inviting place to sit and read a book was impossible. There are no shades or blinds on the bedroom or bathroom windows. Clearly the noise is not something that can be changed, and the needed update would be expensive, but some of the other issues could certainly be addressed.
