My family and I stayed at the farmhouse during our trip to Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. The house was very comfortable, and the owner, Bettina, was very hospitable. She shared her home, books, toys, garden, and animals with us, and even took the time to answer the many questions that my kids (2 and 5) had even though she was a very busy lady. My kids loved the farm so much that they begged to take days off from visiting the parks so they could stay with the animals. They loved feeding grass and hay to the horse and donkeys; they had "Buddy" the dog accompany them everywhere; they said "hi" to the rooster, hen, cats, and ducks often; and my son loved picking strawberries, tomatoes, and greens from the garden. The little splash pool behind the house kept them cool in the summer heat, and the outdoor bathtub was fun for them and allowed for easy cleanup.
The house was well-stocked with all the essentials we needed; it was close to the entrance of Sequoia National Park; and there were many restaurants, as well as a well-stocked grocery store nearby. We all really enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again someday.....my son keeps asking if we can just go to visit the farm sometimes even if we are not going on vacation, and my daughter plays "farm" with her animals, who all now have the same names as those on Bettina's farm. :) Thanks Bettina!
