A year round, 4-Season House - 5 Min to Chautauqua Institute, Lakeside Park & Chautauqua Lake across the street.

- Great Location! Just across the street from Lake Chautauqua. (view of the lake from your vacation rental, house is second one in from the Lake on Valley St. coming from Rte. 394 )
- The Chautauqua Institution is just down the street, quick 4 mile drive away.
- Mayville’s Lakeside Park is right across the street which has a free public boat ramp / launch and a public park with a play ground, tennis courts, basketball court and picnic tables.
- Two separate clean, air conditioned bedrooms are located on 2nd floor. Queen bed in master bedroom and one queen bed and one twin bed in second bedroom. This house sleeps a total of 5 guests in beds.
- A clean, full bathroom located on first floor.
- House is updated, neat & clean, paint, carpet, furniture, appliances.
- Washer / Dryer (full size)
- WI-FI, high speed internet - Smart TV - YouTube TV including local stations.
- All bedding is provided (sheets, blankets, pillows, comforters)
- All kitchen and bath towels are provided
- Fully equipped kitchen - stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, toaster, coffee maker/Keurig.
- Pots / Pans and all the silverware and cooking utensils you will need.
- Propane gas grill is located on the rear deck for easy grilling.
- Pet friendly with a fully fenced large backyard that has a fire-pit, lawn chairs and plenty of room to play and relax.
- 12 x 15 deck on rear of house, with an outside dining table and chairs.
- Located on a quiet side street that has sidewalks, great for walking and biking the Village of Mayville.
- Snowmobilers welcome! Just off of Trail C4, Chautauqua Lake Snowmobile Club
- Off street parking, long private driveway that can accommodate three cars plus additional spaces for snowmobiles, jet skis and/or a boat.
- Chautauqua Marina is a two minute walk from your house. Where you can rent a boat or Jet Ski or dock your own boat.
* Float your boat during your stay at your own slip at the Chautauqua Marina.
* Marina is just down the street, it's a short walk or drive from your vacation house.
* You can launch your boat either at the marina or right across the street at the Mayville Lakeside park boat launch.
* You can park your boat trailer / snowmobiles in the private extra long driveway at your vacation house for safe keeping.

Cottage by the lake

Excellent communication from hosts prior to check-in, Todd was very nice and accommodating. Quiet neighborhood and easy to find, smooth check-in process, house was exceptionally clean. Great dog-friendly yard with treats and dog toys. We enjoyed the fire pit. Everything was very comfortable for three or four adults. Will stay again if we come back to the area.

Summer Fun

We had a great time here. Loved the back deck and yard. Days were hot but the house was nice and cool. So wonderful to be able to bring our dog along and the fenced in yard makes it so easy. House was so cute and clean. Great location.

Another great stay

This was our third summer staying at this property with our dog. Listing is as described. House is very clean and comfortable with short walk to the lake and a great ice cream place. Owners easy to work with and quick to respond. Short drive to Chautauqua Institution. Would definitely stay here again.

Clean & Cozy Cottage

We enjoyed our stay at Clark's Cottage. It was quaint, clean, and comfortable. The Clarks were wonderful hosts. They were very responsive after we booked our stay and promptly answered all our questions while on our trip. We look forward to booking this cottage again! I highly recommend it!

Total Eclipse 2024

My husband, me and our 3 year old puppy, enjoyed our stay in Mayville at Todd's home. The house was cozy and clean and very dog friendly. We enjoyed the proximity to Lake Chautauqua and the many sidewalks in the neighborhood made for varied dog walking routes. Mayville was in the zone of totality for the eclipse. We were able to get a super view of the "show" from the comfy Adirondacks in the back yard. My 6 ft 5 husband did occasionally bump his head on the gabled ceilings in the bedroom and some of the ceiling fans. Just a warning for the overly tall renter!!

Buffum Family Wedding Anniversary Weekend

My wife and I celebrated our 32nd wedding anniversary, while our son and daughter-in-law celebrated their first! We found the cottage to be an excellent, clean and functional "safe haven" given the very rainy weekend! It was an excellent home base allowing us to explore the area and dine at the cottage / out on the town. Our dog especially loved the fenced yard!

The home was close to the Marina for our boat rental. The park and playground close by were a bonus for our daughter. The house was clean and well managed. We appreciated having a Keurig for morning coffee and the bottle of wine was an added bonus. We would recommend this house to anyone looking for a home close to the lake and all the amenities.

Perfect spot for a quick weekend away with the pups

My husband and I stayed for a long weekend with our two labs for a family wedding, and it couldn’t have been any more perfect. The location is great, right by the lake, close to everything but far enough away that it’s nice and quiet. The house was absolutely spotless and they owners have graciously supplied everything you could possibly need for both yourself and your pups. We had one small issue which the owners sorted out for us immediately. I can’t speak highly enough of the owners and the house. Recommend to anyone looking for a great little place near Chautauqua Lake. We’ll definitely be back.

Another great week with our dog along

Another great week at this home with our dog. Extremely clean and comfortable. Walking distance to Mayville Lakeside Park and 5 minute drive to Chautauqua Institution. Easy communication with homeowners. Nice keypad on the back deck into the mud room for keyless access. Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful property!

Beautiful property located near the marina and within walking distance of restaurants. The home was clean and updated. The hosts thought of everything to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. Our dog loved the fenced in yard. We also enjoyed the fire pit in the evening. Wonderful stay with our friends at this property. We would stay again!

Just What We Needed!

The property was great! Everything we needed was there, even supplies for the dog! The house was very nice, with a large fenced in yard, ready for us to have a nice fire at night. The location right across from the boat launch was great for us, since we brought wave runners with us. It was in a quiet neighborhood, with friendly neighbors, with whom we even enjoyed chatting. There were plenty of extra blankets, pillows, towels, etc. the AC window units kept the entire house comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped for us to make dinner, and we used the grill, which was also great to have. Everything was perfect! A second bathroom upstairs would have been nice, but even without it, we had a really great stay, and will definitely look to rent here again, if we are in the area.

So close to so many things!

We had such an amazing time! Plenty of space for parking, everything we needed was provided. We brought our dog and we really appreciated the crate and baby/dog gate. The fenced in yard was so nice. The beds were very comfortable. If you enjoy nature, you’re surrounded by beauty here!

Cute cottage with everything you need

We stayed in this cottage to attend a wedding at Chautauqua Institution just down the road. It was cute, clean and well-stocked with everything from bikes to treats for our dogs to a bottle of local wine! While it is not on the lake, there is a great park and path along the lake just a quick 2 minute walk away and you can actually see the lake from the deck!!

Lovely and peaceful get away

Great property for Chautauqua location. Close to everything . Clean and well appointed. It really has everything you need. Backyard was a huge bonus. Very safe and secure. Wood available for fire pit was a welcomed bonus. Front porch lovely for morning coffee. Floors were perfect for dogs. Air conditioners in every room helped a very hot weekend since bedrooms are upstairs . We will be back for sure !

Perfect for us

My husband and I stayed here with our two dogs. It was perfect for us. The house was very clean and nicely decorated- it had everything we needed. The back yard (fenced) was great for the dogs. Close to a nice walk along the lake and delicious ice cream. We usually stay on the grounds of the Chautauqua Institution but because one of our dogs is getting frail we wanted to take them with us. We drove the short 3 miles to the Institution every day for some activity. Very doable. I inadvertently took home the house dog water bowl and the hosts were very gracious about it- we hope to return it next year if not sooner. Please note- as others have described, it is important to know up front that the only bathroom is upstairs. Thanks to The Clark’s for offering a pet friendly home and for the generous welcome basket!!!
