About this property

At the Edge of Osoyoos Home

Firethorn Farms is a unique property in the South Okanagan of British Columbia.

Your privacy is assured as you will be the only visitors to this functioning farm of 11 acres with a protected entrance. We use a variety of alternative energy sources such as geothermal, heat pumps and solar power to protect the environment.

The beach has three distinct areas for your benefit as well as a unique beachfront garden. The summer weather is the driest and warmest in Canada as we are situated in the only desert in Canada with an average summer daytime temperature of more than 30 degrees Celsius (90 F).

During the summer months all the local fruits from cherries, plums, peaches, apricots to the fall nectarines and apples can be enjoyed. The local farmer's markets provide an opportunity to discover a wide variety of products.

You will have your choice between a busy active lakefront holiday or the peace and quiet of a private retreat.

Relaxing spot for a girls break

Enjoyed our stay, great lawn space for dogs to run and kitchen was fully loaded with everything we needed for the week. Owners were extremely helpful when needed. Would definitely return.

Amazing place to stay!

The listing for this property does not do it justice. It is truly a great place to stay. Perfect for family and four legged friends. Everyone that travelled with us really enjoyed their stay. I highly recommend this property. Will definitely plan on returning.

Great spot for a family getaway

The property was everything we expected for a party of 6 adults and 3 dogs. Well stocked kitchen, large screen TV and a great yard that is on the lake. Very confidential as all on its own. Firepit near the waters edge allows for great visiting around the camp fire.

Great time all round

The exterior of this property is unreal - incredible from the moment you come through the gates. If you intend to be outside on your trip, you’ll struggle to find a nicer space. We were a big group with a small kid plus dogs and Steve and family were very accommodating. Would stay here again,

Osoyoos haven

This was our second stay at this property and we love it. The house has AC and lots of great space to spread out. The kitchen is well equipped. Access to the water and the wonderful landscape is what makes it so special. A word to the wise to wear shoes on the dock.

Amazing Property!

This place was amazing! Right on the lake with plenty of grass space for some yard games. The owner was great in accommodating us with some small things we were asking about during our stay. Great experience and would highly recommend to anyone.

Breathtaking property

The grounds and lakeside aspect of the property are the finest in Osoyoos. Steve and Anna have created a beautiful sanctuary of perfectly manicured and landscaped grounds with the backdrop of a lovely orchard. It really is one of a kind.

Paradise on the lale

The perfect spot for families. We comfortably fit 2 families (3 kids each) in the house. Quiet, lakefront, huge grassy areas. Doesnt get better! Perfect location for those with a boat also. Boat launch on site. Owner is very easy to get a hold of and to communicate with.

complicated to summarize.

Unfortunately when we arrived, the owner was not aware of us coming. After some effort we contacted home away and also the owner. She was very nice and gracious -- but we had received the wrong combination number for access and when we finally got in, the unit had not been cleaned and was not ready for us. IN speaking with the owner, it was agreed that we would not stay. We were fortunate to find accommodation nearby. Overall this was not a good experiences for us. Also on the refund, a considerable amount was not refunded to us -- kept by home away for their services. I did not like that.

Fun in the sun!

An amazing property with so much privacy.

They truly made the place very warm and welcoming. Inside was beautifully finished and the back yard was very private. It's incredible being able to launch the boat right beside the dock. And the landscaping is breathtaking. All while being very close to all the amenities.

Great Vacation Home

We had an excellent time here! Steven and his wife are great hosts. They are very friendly and personable. The vacation home has fantastic views of the mountains overlooking osoyoos lake. Every morning we would enjoy the view from our backyard, go for a walk among the fruit trees and go for a dip in the lake - what more could we ask for! Would definitely recommend this place :)

My wife and I relocated here to enjoy the warmth of the Okanagan. We were attracted by the paucity of rainfall and the natural beauty of the desert. The nearby water provided summer sports for our children with the proximity for golf and cycling a major attraction. During the winter we are only 30 minutes from skiing and have very little snowfall on the ground. We are thrilled by the opportunity to have our own orchard of cherries and plums with the nearby vineyards and wineries enhanced the agricultural ambience.

Why they chose this property

The weather here is outstanding, for Canada, year round. The nearly limitless recreational opportunities catered to our desire for relaxation. However the orchard gave some respite from the normal day to day work.

What makes this property unique

There is a private beachfront with nearly 2000 feet of freedom from neighbours. The 11 acres of property is landscaped beautifully with the serenity of relative isolation free to enjoy. There are private sunbathing areas, the warmest lake in Canada and a dock for your watercraft. There is access to one of the best golf courses in Canada at Fairview Mountain in nearby Oliver. Hiking and biking paths are readily available.
