About this property

The beautiful creekside Quakie Cabin

Come enjoy this beautiful and recently updated cabin in the woods. The Quakie Cabin is tucked in the back of a gorgeous, gated neighborhood with Elbert Creek and the San Juan National Forest in the backyard. Only 5 minutes from skiing and less than 30 minutes from downtown, you have the serenity of being up in the mountains, while only being a short drive away from all Durango and Purgatory have to offer. We also offer discounts for extended length stays, message me for more details!
The space:
This is a 3 story home. First level is a living area with sectional sleeper sofa which can sleep 2-3 people comfortably, TV, and full bathroom (shower & tub). Second level is the main level which includes full kitchen and access to deck/balcony, the main living area with TV and wood burning fireplace, as well as a half bath and 2nd master. This bedroom has a king bed, gas fireplace, TV, large walk-in closet which contains extra bedding, linens, queen blow up mattress, and games/toys). It has full bath with double sinks and standing shower.
The third level has a loft with small pull out sofa and rocking chair. There is a Jack & Jill suite, one room has a king bed and the other has a queen/twin bunk bed. Both share a full bathroom with tub/shower combo.
The master suite is also on this level with a King bed, gas fireplace, TV, desk, large walk-in closet with extra bedding, linens, queen blow up, and pack n' play. There is a full bathroom with 2 sinks, stand alone tub, walk-in shower with two heads and steam room. There is also access to the back deck through the master suite as well as a side door off the top of the stairs. The back wrap around deck has a hot tub and stairs leading to a patio overlooking Elbert Creek and the San Juan National Forest (the patio won't be accessible during the snowy season). There is a water easement that separates the house and patio. This is perfect for sledding in the snow!
Guests will have access to entire property.

For winter months, 4x4 vehicles are required to access the property as the driveway is a steep slope.

Perfect Getaway
Everything was perfect! Cant recommend enough. The location is great too; easy drive to Silverton and Durango. Wish we could pack up the cabin and make it our own forever home!

Easy location and convenient
Trip was great. 3 families of old neighbors annual ski trip for new years. We had 11 people and was comfortable to stay. We did wish the couch in lower level was sleeper sofa as two boys slept on couch though they are kids so who really cares. House has great natural lighting. You do need 4wd in winter. We had no snow and base of mountain was only 20” so slopes were a bit dicey but again nothing to do with house. We’d definitely stay here again and working with owner and communication there was great.

Loved the layout and beauty of the home and the area. Sledding on the property. Plenty of space. The pictures don’t do this place justice. We will be back.

Great Stay!
My family and I stayed for a month and had the best time. We were immediately comfortable in the house and really appreciated things like Morgan providing enough baby gates to keep our 16 month old from going up/down the many stair cases on the main floor. The house is also located near a beautiful trailhead that you can get to from the neighborhood, which we walked a few times a week. Morgan was incredibly responsive to all my questions and checked in with me a few times during our stay. We would definitely stay in this home again.

No property is perfect but we were very satisfied with the property. The property manager was very attentive and seemed to be genuinely concerned with us having a full feeling experience

What a beautiful soul restoring property!
We had an absolutely lovely stay at this property. It had everything we needed and then some. I'd love the ability to return one day. If I could give the property 6 stars for the aspens I would. We travelled with a 2 year old, 8 year old, 10 year old, 11 year old, and some 40 something year olds over my birthday weekend. They had kid toys, an amazing hide and seek house. Well appointed kitchen, maybe the best we've come across in all of our VRBOs, and such a beautiful place. Comfy beds and plenty of space. Would definately recommend you book this property!

Absolutely beautiful Home!
It is so beautiful! The surroundings are like being in the forest, we even heard a bobcat growling! The home is stunning, beautiful and comfortable! We didn't need or want for anything, the only thing is the stairs are pretty steep and we had a 14 mo but the owner was kind enough to purchase baby gates for our stay! Morgan is super nice and responsive and caring! Would stay there again! Thank you again Morgan!!

Purgatory dream home
This home is absolutely gorgeous! My only regret is that we didn’t take the time for enough photos. One of the nicest places we have stayed! The owner is so helpful and accommodating! We loved our stay.

Hi! I'm Morgan... My husband Brandon and I live in Texas with our 3 kiddos, but have a love for the mountains. We've been blessed to find and renovate an amazing house in Durango and it seemed like too good of a place not to share!

Why they chose this property

This is an amazing property that back up against the San Juan national forest in a small quiet neighborhood 5 minutes from Purgatory resort and an easy beautiful drive to downtown Durango. The views are absolutely breathtaking, with Elbert Creek running in the backyard and a picture perfect view of the mountains out front, it's the perfect spot to be tucked up into and escape from the stresses of everyday life.
