Cruz Bay 1 Bdrm Condo Just Steps from Frank Bay & Easy Walk into Town

Our St John condo is a wonderful, 1bedroom, 1 bath vacation rental conveniently located just steps from Cruz Bay on a quiet residential street just past Gallows Point Resort with great breezes and water views. Frank Bay Beach is just around the corner and the sunsets are amazing from here! Our condo has Caribbean inspired colors and amenities, perfect for adults, honeymooners or couples with all the comforts of home with a little more privacy and affordability than St John hotels or resorts.

With 10' high ceilings, cool tiled floor, and ocean views are a welcoming island retreat. Villa La Mer has air conditioning, and fans throughout with regular tradewinds.

Step from the living room or bedroom onto our large porch with an outdoor teak dining table, lounge chairs, an island inspired hammock, and electric BBQ grill. The porch overlooks the shared (with four other condos) pool and some of the best sweeping views of the Caribbean and other islands, and of course sunsets you will forever remember.

The spacious living room has a floor to ceiling bookshelf, TV, & CD Player, and we have WiFi.

Our kitchen is well stocked by my mother (a Southern cook!) , so you should have everything you need to fix an elaborate meal or blend your favorite island concoctions.

The property is beautifully landscaped with year-round blossoming plants and you will absolutely love the large pool that is privately shared with the other four units on the property.

Our condo is very well maintained and our Welcome Team will also be available if have any questions about the condo.

We hope you enjoy our island home away from home.

Lovely Stay in Cruz Bay

We absolutely loved this condo! the location was perfect, walking distance to town but still quiet. And the back deck was our favorite hang out spot. The property manager Patti, was so nice and easy to communicate with. We can't wait to stay here again

Great launching pad for St. John adventuring

This condo on Cruz bay is exactly as described. It is clean, well-stocked with essentials, has some great books to read about St. John, and it is close to town. We loved being able to walk into Cruz bay (it’s about a 5-7 minute walk to the Cruz Bay landing area). We also liked walking down to Frank Bay in the morning. There’s a peacock around there so that was cool to see. We enjoyed the covered deck for relaxing and coffee in the morning. We go to St. John often and we spend our days hiking, snorkeling, and going to the beach so this was a perfect little spot to rest and unwind after our exploring. The hammock is a great touch. Patti, the property manager, was awesome! Extremely kind and responsive.

St. John getaway

We loved this property. It was just as expected and had all the necessary items and more. The property manager Patti met us upon arrival and gave us the overviev. Very grateful for the beach chairs, towels and coolers we used everyday. Convenient to walk every evening to dinner or out on the town.

We really enjoyed our stay here. King bed was very comfortable and we liked the AC splits for the bedroom. Pool was amazing and quiet. Living space was really nice and large for a rainy day. Deck was more comfortable than most, with choices for sun and shade. Did have a sunset view, but just know that it's just a narrow view now because trees on neighboring properties are blocking it some. But there was still penalty of beautiful water views. Just loved this villa! And the owner and caretaker were both fantastic as well. thank you!

Honeymoon Getaway

We visited St. John for our honeymoon and had a lovely stay. We enjoyed the property and it was a nice walking distance to town. What you see in the photos is what you get. We had no complaints and would stay again!

Can’t wait to book again!

My husband and I spent a week vacationing in St John for our anniversary and had a great experience here! Adele and Patti were so welcoming and made everything so easy for us. Our favorite things: - The property is just a short walk to Cruz Bay. - The pool is private, quiet and so refreshing for an afternoon dip after the beach. - The deck is perfect for coffee and breakfast in the morning or watching the sunset in the evening. We can’t say enough good things about this property and look forward to booking again in the future!

Don’t stay here if you want a good night sleep!!!!!!

This was one of the worst experiences of our lives. Once we arrived at the property, we immediately noticed the bedroom. Before discussing the bedroom, we do note that the property is in a great location close to town. It is also large with a nice balcony and a relaxing hammock as well as a pool. Now back to the bedroom. We laid on the bed and discovered that it was extremely uncomfortable. We saw some of the reviews that mention that the bed was firm, but that is a complete understatement. We have stayed in hotels, motels and the like all over the world. This bed was the most uncomfortable we have ever attempted to sleep on hands down!! It felt like you were sleeping on a piece of plywood. Unfortunately, we were UNABLE to sleep on this so-called “mattress”. It was impossible and we stayed up all night for two nights in a row. Unfortunately, the bed situation complexly ruined the vacation. It led to two tired people who were extremely irritable, to say the least. After two nights of not sleeping, we vacated the property even though we had rented it out for 4 nights. We left and headed to another resort. I’ve never wrote a review before regarding a stay. The quality of the bed warranted writing this review. If you want to sleep on vacation and have an enjoyable vacation, we would strongly suggest that you NOT book this home. Perhaps, a drop in bookings will force this owner to finally purchase a satisfactory bed for her guests. This was simply a horrible experience.

Villa La Mer is Magical

Patti and Villa La Mer help make our trip amazing! Patti was amazingly accommodating in meeting us to check in, escorted us through a great walkthrough of the condo and pool, and provided an indepth guide for all amenities in St. John. The condo was clean with an amazing view. It is conveniently close to Cruz Bay restaurants, although it is at the top of a steep hill. There is parking in front of the location, complimentary toiletries, and an incredible balcony with an exceptional view. Thank you for helping make our trip for our sister's wedding magical.

La Mer Highlights

Here are some highlights from our stay that others might find helpful 1. Dedicated parking spot for our unit, good to know if you are renting a car. 2. Had various sizes of snorkel gear including fins 3. Nice location, ~10 walk to town to eat or shop without any really steep hills to climb 4. The property manager Patti was VERY helpful 5. Having AC in both the bedroom and front room was very nice. 6. Having a pool to swim in right there was very relaxing 7. Was quiet and had nice views of the bay. Room for improvement: Provide directions from the car ferry to the unit geared to someone (like us) who have never been to St John before. The directions we received assumed we had some knowledge of the area which we didn't. Patti was very helpful in exchanging texts with us when we were lost to help guide us there. Turns out most of the street sign names were lost during the last hurricane making navigation a little harder.

Wonderful Condo

The condo was great! It was very comfortable and clean with a great deck and view. It was such a treat to walk into town every evening! Patty was very responsive and made checking in very easy. We can't wait to return to this wonderful island!

Lovely La Mer

The La Mer condo is lovely—a perfect blend of bright open space and cozy comfort, and it's filled with beautiful seaside decor and art. The large veranda adds a very special bonus. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else on a return trip to St. John. La Mer is in a perfect spot for visiting this island. It’s a short walk to Cruz Bay for shops, restaurants, the ferry, and taxis that will go anywhere on St. John, including beaches. Also close by is the National Park Center and some of its walking trails. In addition, communication with Adele and Patti before and during the stay was welcoming and efficient.

Perfect, walkable spot

This property is a short walk to down town for dinner, which we did nightly. We spent our mornings on the porch eating breakfast, and evenings in the hammock with a cocktail. The bed is on the firmer side, but feel that’s personal preference (I would recommend a gel mattress cover or foam crate). Patti was super attentive and responsive to text. The home had beach chairs and a cooler which we used daily. Would definitely rent again and can’t wait to come back.

A great stay at a fantastic price

My partner and I enjoyed our stay at this lovely Villa very much. The place is VERY spacious with visually-pleasing decor--and it is thoughtfully stocked with so many beach essentials--beach chairs, beach umbrella, a cooler, and even some snorkel gear. The deck out back is huge and a truly wonderful place to hang out and watch the sunset--plus the hammock is absolutely incredible. I spent many hours relaxing and reading while being gently swayed by the breeze. The location is perfect for walking downtown into the town of Cruz Bay, although as noted by other reviewers, just keep in mind (mostly for anyone with mobility issues) that the walk back UP can be a bit challenging on a cardiovascular level. Great exercise though, and the steepest part of the climb doesn't last long. It's a very well-lit and "open concept" space that lets you enjoy the stunning natural surroundings. The pool out back was fabulous, and you may very likely have it all to yourself (other than us, I only saw one other couple use it the whole time we were there). The host and property manager are friendly and very easy to deal with--both are very responsive to any questions you may have. If you rent a car, there is a place right out front to park! At this very reasonable price point, I'd recommend this lovely VRBO property to anyone looking to enjoy and explore gorgeous St. John!

Excellent location & view. Quiet & budget friendly.

We loved the location of this property- even though you have to walk down / up 2 steep hills to get to Cruz Bay, it was still worth it because parking in Cruz is horrendous & a huge waste of time. The little parking there is is for employees of cruz bay and near the boat docks so it saved tons of time being able to walk. The view was amazing & the road it’s on is very quiet compared to many other areas of Cruz Bay. You will hear roosters, frogs, peacocks, crickets in the unit while you’re in bed but bring a portable sound machine and it will help- it is an island after all. The pool felt like we had it to ourselves most all the 5 day we were there. I did not care for the bed at all but it’s personal preference. If you like an extremely firm mattress that’s the bed for you. We however did not like it much. This condo has a feel of a property that’s “been in the family” for a long time as there are several pieces of old art & family heirlooms laying around / old books etc. I kind of felt like I walked into someone’s actual daily home, not a VRBO property. The place is old but it was decently clean & kept up with- the kitchen needs major work but again, decently clean. All appliances worked fine. The bathroom has no air conditioning but the rest of the unit cooled down nicely. Patio was super spacious and the hammock my husband really enjoyed. The pool is down a stair case to the right of the complex and a 1 min walk. If you’re trying to budget and just need a simple place to stay with a great view & short walk to Cruz Bay, this is a great deal if you rather spend your $$ on nicer meals or shopping. Would consider staying again if the mattress wasn’t so hard, but again, that is subjective opinion. Thanks for a great stay. Property manager was an absolute sweet heart & prompt to answer any / all questions.

Great location with a beautiful view

We loved the large back deck. We would sit out there every morning having breakfast before we started our day. Then again in the evening to relax after returning from hiking and snorkeling. It's an easy walk into Cruz Bay for dinner. We would definitely stay here again.

St John’s villa

Short walk to town, and from ferry and to restaurants and to NP visitor center. Safe neighborhood Beautiful deck with great view- we spent every am there. Pool is very nice and clean. Adequate kitchen - as noted in other reviews - use the Britta (a fresh one) and the cistern water tastes fine for drinking As noted in other reviews - it’s a bit noisy in am with peacocks and roosters and there is some car noise.

The Hills of St John

Fantastic stay! The villa is lovely. Some things to keep in mind are the walks to and from the villa. FOR SURE, it can be a lot! At the same time if you are a walker and are able to navigate on foot it will not be a concern. It is not far from town but the hills are exhausting, even the small ones. Another thought is the open concept of the villa. We enjoyed it very much but if you need to pull the curtain for darkness or wear earplugs for quiet this is not the place for you. The sun rises early and the wildlife are up at the crack of dawn. On the flip side you will hear the tree blowing in the wind and it sure is beautiful! The pool is a wonderful option to the beach. Would stay again!
