Nice Spot for the Birkie!
Was great for a group of skiers on Birkie weekend. Plenty of space to hang out and relax. Having two fridges was great! Bummed that we couldn't re-book it for next year!

Wonderful property
The house was beautiful, well stocked and very clean. The beds were comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Our grandchildren and daughters had a great time kayaking and using the paddle board. We used the fishing boat with motor and really enjoyed the lake and property. Thank you Sarah and Jim for creating this beautiful lake house that we could enjoy!

Blue and green delight
Very spacious inside and out. Great views. Plenty of kayaks and other boats. Owners were very accommodating to our large group. Saw lots of wild animals. Fish were accommodating especially for the four year old. Couldn’t have asked for anything more for our group ranging in age from almost 2 to 76. Thank you Sarah and Jim.

Memories made!
We had an awesome week! The cabin was great for all ages that we had with. Lots of fish caught and fun in the water. Sleeping arrangements perfect for 3 couples and kids. The kitchen is well stocked so we did a lot of cooking as no one wanted to ever leave. We did a day trip to Hayward and rode the side by side on trails once. Only thing better would have been a little rain so we could ride more trails and have a fire but not Sarah and Jims fault a very dry time but gave us great weather on the lake. Thank you Jim and Sarah you have a great place!

Great summer kick off
This was perfect for our group of 13. There was room around the table and a bed for everyone. Sarah was a very gracious hostess with so many thoughtful touches and the use of some many of their own personal items. We enjoyed the kayaks, paddle board, and fishing boat. The lake is amazing for all of those items. We enjoyed time around the fire pit and lounging on the decks. We would highly recommend staying here. We hope to stay again. They thought of everything you could want to make a visit to the north woods an amazing experience for all.

Beautiful house in northern Wisconsin
A group of three of us worked during the week using the very reliable internet, and then four more joined us for the Birkie ski race. (great place to stay for the Birkie because so easy to get to Cable) There was more than enough room for the seven of us, with only one person in the open bunkhouse area (nicer than a real bunkhouse!). This house is beautiful! The photos don't do it justice. The woodwork alone is a reason to stay here. Heated floors in bedroom and bathroom!! We loved that feature in the cold winter. Great touches like a kitchen counter that was so cool I sent photos of it to friends. The house is right off of a smaller state highway (100 to 200 yards down a long driveway) but we did not hear a sound from the road -- perhaps because of the snow and the fact it was quite cold so we didn't open windows. But I don't think you'd hear the road in good weather with all the trees between the house and road. There are other houses nearby, but only one which is very close, and is also owned by the same family. This rental house is on a lake, which you can see from the windows; we'd love to come back in good weather to get out on the water. We didn't get to use the great outdoor space, but it looked beautiful. Comfortable beds, nice linens, very responsive host. If you rent this house you should know that there is no interior staircase to the second floor; you can see this from the description if you read carefully. This was fine even though it was below zero much of the time we were there.... we had fun with the quick trip outside, but be aware of it. In good weather it would be no issue at all. Also the more cozy living area is the one upstairs; that area is fabulous with a big comfy sofa; just note that it's on a different level from the kitchen. If you go in winter, XC ski at the Drummond trails in the national forest; they are GREAT for an easy intermediate outing. Bottom line is that this is one of those rare houses where I definitely want to return.

Wonderful Stay!
Stayed at this property in the fall as a couple, & it was extremely peaceful. Wonderful value! Bony Lake is quiet & CLEAR, the fish were biting, & there's a cool channel that leads to the bigger lakes, only accessible by smaller boats. We were provided a small fishing boat that served all our needs, for no addtl cost. The forethought by the owners was evident! The home is classy, immaculate, beds comfortable, & we wanted for nothing! A perfect fit for groups, couples, or families of any size/age, as there are living qrtrs on the 2nd level, with separate (outdoor) entrance, a TV spot, & TONS of sleeping accommodations/bath. The place was well-appointed, with everything you'd need to prepare meals, store food, etc. No corners cut! Sarah was kind, highly-responsive, & they made us feel that we could make ourselves at home. They do live close by, but they're the only neighbors you can really see, & they offered us our privacy. They were not intrusive at all. We were told there are a couple of beaches close by, they're installing a swim dock, & usually a pontoon is offered in the summer, so it seemed a wonderful place to return in the warmer months with our children. Water is shallow for a long distance out from shoreline, making for what appears to be a great swimming experience. Plan ahead for groceries, as it's 20-30 minutes to more "major" grocery shopping & restaurants, though we found some small pubs with food nearby, near Barnes, & even hit up a local Friday night fish fry at the VFW (highly recommend). We supplemented what we needed with a bait shop/convenience store that's less than 2 minutes away. The locals were friendly & most went out of their way to help or offer advice when asked, even about fishing "secrets"! Spent a day on UTVs we rented through Hayward Power Sports & I couldn't recommend that experience or company enough. By far, my favorite part of the trip, as we had tons of different terrain, the trails felt rural (but very well-marked), & they made fantastic recommendations (check out Garmisch Inn as a stop along the way). Nice coffee shop downtown Hayward, a Walgreen's/Wal-Mart, as well as more local shopping experiences. If you're not used to seeing wildlife & tall pines everywhere, you're in for a treat in this part of Wisconsin. 5/5 across the board!
