While the house was in a wonderful location, and there was plenty to do, there were a few issues. There were numerous cobwebs complete with spiders on the living room ceiling, as well as in the upstairs bathroom. Some of the silverware in the drawer still had food stuck to it. Upon getting the instructions, we were informed that we would be required to purchase a pass for $9 a day or $20 for the week.
It wasn’t without its charm though. The bikes were nice and fun to ride around through the neighborhood. The horses were visible right through the screened in porch. It was alright, but I was not wowed by it. 8/10.
Our stay was very nice. The bikes were a nice bonus. Enjoyed riding around the island. The king and queen beds were very comfortable and ceiling fans were great. Overall it was a great stay. The only issue was the cleaning crew arrived at 9:25 and stayed parked in the front yard. Hate feeling rushed.
We only stayed one night but the process for check in was very easy and the property was well maintained. It was exactly what we needed and wouldnt hesitate to stay again if we were in the area! The screened in porch was very nice and had a great view. Having bikes available to use is also a big deal as they are expensive to rent.
The house was as advertised. We had 6 adults and there was plenty of room. Bikes (beach cruisers) were included and got plenty of use. Easy walk or ride to the beach (about 1 mile) and right next to the nature preserve. All amenities we needed were included.
My family stayed in this property Jan 4-11, 2024. After I booked the property I saw the review from Jan 4 and panicked. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. There are no rodent droppings or mold. First off the house allows 3 dogs with only a small fee which is rare. It is a perfect location being close to the front gate and back gate of sea pines and right across from the horse stables. The house is very clean. The main floor has a nice family room with comfortable sectional and a bedroom with a comfortable queen bed with its own bathroom. The bathroom is a little older but is very clean and has great water pressure. The upstairs has a very comfortable king bed and a twin bed room which shares a small older bathroom but is very clean and completely fine. The kitchen is nicely stocked with everything you need including a keurig and a coffee maker and air fryer. House has a nice screened in porch with nice seating that is a little worn but nothing like the previous review. 4 bikes are provided - 2 are brand new and 2 are not but all 4 are great and so nice to have provided. We have stayed in probably 25-30 properties in Hilton head and most in sea pines and we would definitely stay here again and probably will this summer. Owner was easy to communicate with and quick to respond. Overall this is a nice property and very clean.
This property is GROSSLY misrepresented from the photos on the VRBO website. When we arrived for our stay, I was in tears at the completely dirty, run-down, rental we found! I immediately called the owner to share with her the misrepresentation and she said that the photos and description were old and she hadn't been to the house in a while. I reported it to VRBO after no resolve with the owner and apparently, you have to notify VRBO within 24 hours of a problem with your rental to get any response! I am now going to share a list of the issues with this rental so that you are aware BEFORE BOOKING this: (I wish I could include pictures)
The bikes are in terrible condition, rusted, flat tires, and inability to raise or lower the seats so basically unusable.
The dishes in the cupboards are dirty and the pans had grime on them. All utensils and glasses had to be washed before using. The drawers contained dried food/crumbs and completely rusted or dirty utensils. The pan drawer under the stove had varmint poop, food and dust balls in it. The grill was full of mold. The VRBO photos showed a LR that accommodated 8 people and that it slept 8. IT DOES NOT. There is missing LR, kitchen and sunporch furniture, and it only sleeps 7 and seats 6. The back porch furniture is taped together, light bulbs missing, no batteries in the tv remote upon arrival, molded/stained shower curtains, a leaking tub, and more. DO NOT BOOK. A total nightmare of misrepresentation and lack of owner response!
We enjoyed our stay at Sea Pines home. The location is central to all things Hilton Head. Though the home is dated, we found it to be charming. Our host was wonderful with responses to our questions. Would recommend...

Decent Dog Friendly Option in Sea Pines
If you are looking for a dog friendly stay in Sea Pines then this is probably the right choice. While it is not the cleanest place, it is well located and Rianne is very responsive.
This was a very nice property in a great location. Rianne was great and responded very quickly.
The downstairs bathroom ceiling needs to be replaced as it was in pretty bad shape.
The great thing about this property is they allow pets. Decor is dated and some maintenance needs to be done. Popcorn ceiling in bathroom is falling down. It is a quick fix just remove it skim coat sand and paint. Rehang the bathroom mirror by spliting the distance between ceiling and backsplash. I was lookin at my chin all week and I am 6'1". The bikes are in poor condition, plan on renting or bringing your own.
Great location and property for a family needing to relax
Great location, easy to get to Trolley stops to go to the beach. Very few properties have two master bedrooms so this was great for a family of 4 plus grandparents. Fully stocked kitchen made it easy to eat in after the beach. Would definitely recommend.
We have stayed at many locations in Sea Pines over the years and this by far has been the best due to its central location to all activities. We parked our car upon arrival and rode our bikes the rest of the week. The Forest Preserve is out the back door as well as the stable everything else in Sea Pines was a 5 to 15 minute bike ride. We especially enjoyed watching the horses go by each morning on the beautiful screen porch. We will look forward to staying here on our next family vacation to Sea Pines! Thanks Rianne for sharing your beautiful home!
We liked the location and the ease of using the bike trails. We walked to the beach each day. We also used two of the bikes that the owner provided. She was easy to contact and communicate with. There was ample space in the house.
The property and location was perfect ,but wasn’t please with the cleanest of the property. The outside front entryway & both patio was filthy should’ve been pressure washed before renting. Couldn’t set outside in the fire pit area due to molded patio cushions . I’m very disappointed was expecting to unitize the entire property ☹️☹️
This is our second time staying in Sea Pines and we have found that this is our favorite area in Hilton Head. Some things we liked about this property/renting experience: It is centrally located in Sea Pines and there is a lot of space to spread out and relax. (Our teens boys especially liked that on rainy days.) We didn’t use the screened in porch, but I can see why some would like it. The house was clean and organized upon arrival, with a well appointed kitchen. Rianne was very responsive and helpful. Her detailed instructions made check-in very straightforward. Some things that we didn’t love. The street that the living room, dining area and screened in porch looks out onto is a busy street. The bikes were not in the best condition so we opted to rent bikes instead. One of the twin beds (the one with the trundle) was quite squeaky. The downstairs bath needs a little work on the ceiling due to previous water damage. All in all it was a confortable place to put our heads. The busy road can’t be helped, but a few other tweaks would have made it a great place to stay.
Wonderful place. Amazing location. Our host was very quick to respond, the place was very clean and welcoming. The screened in porch was fantastic - you can watch the sunset from the porch which on Hilton Head is always amazing. They allowed our dogs to be with us which is hard to find and that alone was such a piece of mind. Easily located via access from both gates. Very close to the beach.
This house is in the Sea Pines community, and close to beach, paved trails, shops, restaurants/groceries, golf clubs, and pickleball/tennis. The property was very functional, though not meticulous (perhaps due to our "off season" early Feb. stay?). Kitchen & laundry appliances worked well, and Bathrooms were clean. 1st floor bedroom (queen) was comfy. (note: first night we found king bed in 2nd floor bedroom to be so uncomfortable - pronounced sag in the middle, and squeaky - that we had to move downstairs). Having bikes available is a great feature, given the network of trails in Sea Pines! We were hoping to use them more, but the pet/child carrier was not in great shape. Host Rianne was easy to work with, and super-responsive. We would definitely stay here again in the future.
My family of 5 adults and one dog loved our stay here. We spent most of our time on the screened porch, which was perfect especially when it was too hot or rainy outside to be on the beach. The location was convenient to grocery stores and restaurants, and beach access was a short bike ride away. We would love to return next year.

I met my partner in Los Angeles. We have 2 wonderful boys. He was born and raised in Hilton Head. When we came and I first saw the place, I fell inlove. Unfortunately, we separated. I am now managing the place in hopes of bringing this home to be the best place a family can experience that I don't get to experience anymore :'(. Please help me love this home when you stay. I plan on being here as many times I can because my boys have half their roots here. Please let me know if I need to make any improvements as I am managing it from afar.
