About this property

Private Lodge & Five Acres on the Stamp River

Spectacular rustic Lodge with 37 foot tall river rock chimney, towering through the center of the Great Room. The home is situated on the center of 5 acres of riverfront farmlands. The nearest city is Port Alberni. Fifteen minute drive for suppples The incredible kitchen is fully equipped for even a chef!

Each room features private entrance and overstuffed quilts. The lower floor features a full wrap-around balcony. The nesting eagles, resident deer, rabbits and will comfort you on the serenity of the back deck. Everyone describes their stay as more than expected and that the pictures do not do it justice. We look forward to exceeding your expectations.

Perfect place for retreat

Thank you Marilyn for the host. She is nice, friendly and responded fast on our questions. We have had a wonderful retreat with our group from the church in this property. It is quiet, has lots of space for kids to play indoor and outdoor. Love the big kitchen, huge fridges and freezers and the two big dinning tables. Have recommended this place for friends without hesitation. We are already talking about coming back again.

Amazing getaway spot !

We had an incredible weekend stay at this property in Port Alberni! The kitchen and common space were nothing short of amazing, providing the perfect setting for everyone to gather and enjoy each other's company. The fact that every individual had their own bedroom and bathroom added a level of comfort and convenience that made the stay even more enjoyable. The property itself is beautiful, creating a serene backdrop for our getaway. If you're looking for a place that combines spaciousness, functionality, and natural beauty, this is it!

A great choice for a larger group

We had an amazing stay with a large group of people ranging from babies to 40+. We are generally a really hard group to accommodate as we grow older and everyone keeps having more children. The lodge fit all of us comfortably! Every room having an ensuite was also a big plus . Our stay coincided with the heat dome and temps were 34-38C for our entire stay. Despite not being air conditioned, all rooms had a fan which helped a lot. We also spent a lot of time in the river, which is easily accessed for a dip to cool down or to throw a line out for some salmon or steelhead. The property is massive, and you can easily get some alone time. We also found the bedrooms to have pretty good soundproofing. Sitting on the back deck and staring out over the yard is like watching National Geographic. We saw dozens of rabbits, deer, squirrels, eagles, ravens and black bears. Autumn, the property manager was very responsive and pleasant to deal with. We had an issue with the oven and she was quick to contact Marilyn and we had everything up and running again in no time. She also gave us access to a backup wifi network for our group to connect to when the usual one was not working. The lodge is old, has a few quirks and a few things didn't work, but staying here felt like staying at a family cabin, but with a group of 20+ of your best friends. If you are a large group that maybe includes children and a dog or two, this place will accommodate you perfectly! We plan to come back.

We had a great stay with lots of room for our family get together of 23. Communication with Marilyn was excellent and everyone really enjoyed their time at the property.

Beautiful property!

We loved our stay at the Riverside lodge; we were a group of friends and toddlers who rented the space for NYE and found the accommodations wonderful. Instructions and communication with the host was easy. Everyone really appreciated the separate washrooms and the kitchen was perfect for cooking for our large group. We will definitely be rebooking.

The Perfect Getaway Home

What an amazing place to stay with a big group. From check in to check out the stay was seamless. Marylin was a lovely host greeting us and showing the house as we got there. Big industrial kitchen to make meals. Every bedroom had their own bathroom and comfortable beds. Huge common area to gather for meals and hangout. The house had came with lots of games and actives to keep the stay fun. Take a nice walk down the property to the river! Will for sure be renting this lodge again and coming back to stay! Thank you for the great getaway !

Family Reunion

The Lodge was a perfect place for our four family reunion. Everyone was amazed when they first saw the property and at the spaciousness of the inside. The large room decorated with antique furniture had cosy areas for sitting and relaxing, a long dining table and enough room for a ping pong table. Enjoyed by all. The eleven ensuite bedrooms meant that everyone was happy with their sleeping arrangements although some of the bed linens and towels need to be replaced. With fourteen people in the lodge the chef”s kitchen was well used and certainly appreciated. The grounds were extensive and even though the weather was not great some of the young adults managed to find the overgrown path to the river and went fishing.

Perfect lodge for a large group

This is my third time staying at this property with friends and family. The house is very spacious and fully equipped to accommodate a large group. Thank goodness for the industrial dishwasher with 3-minute cycles. We appreciated that the 11 bedrooms each have their own bathroom and multiple beds. The grand room has lots of dinning and living room seating, a fireplace and ping pong table. All of our visits have been very rainy but our group of 23 had plenty of space to enjoy the property despite the weather. My only tip would be to bring allergy medication. Many of our guests struggled with the fireplace and dust in the high ceilings. Thank you to Marilyn for the detailed orientation and quick response to questions.

Great Multi-Family Get Away

We had a great time at Riverside Lodge. With multiple families with young kids, it was a really great spot to have us all stay together comfortably over a long weekend. The kitchen was fantastic for cooking big meals, and there was ample table space to accommodate a large group for dinner. The yard space out front and back was a lot of fun for outdoor games as well. We would come back again!

Amazing family get away location

The lodge was just perfect for a family get away. 6 families fit easily with rooms to spare. The well equipped kitchen was definitely more than adequate and the expansive common areas and lawns made it perfect for all the littles.

Perfect for a Family Getaway

I booked Riverside Lodge for a family holiday. Ages ranged between 90 and 2 years old. A perfect venue for our large group. Thank you to Marilyn who was a fantastic host. Great communication from the time we booked right to the short orientation she walked us through upon arrival. We booked between Christmas and New Years and the weather was very cold and snowy. The great room with a large fireplace was the perfect place for everyone to congregate. A fantastic commercial kitchen allowed large groups to prep meals together. The commercial dishwasher was a major bonus. There was a huge table that seated all eleven adults for our family dinners. The bedrooms had their own bathrooms so no sharing. Some of the bedrooms were on the main floor which worked well for my 90 year old father. Huge 5 acre property to walk around. We hope to come back in the summer time so we can float the river. Highly recommend for family holidays or reunions.

Great Property

We had a great stay and would happily return. The property was well suited to a small (12 adults, 1 toddler) family gathering with excellent common spaces a suitable rooms. The Kitchen was excellent for meal preparation (small quibble, one oven dial has faded markings so a bit of trial and error was required) and the dishwasher a godsend for quick clean up. All and all, we were very pleased with our stay.

Great Place

This is a great property for large groups. Kitchen is well appointed and even has a commercial dishwasher. Kids and adults all had a great time. This was our third stay and we'll probably come again.

The Perfect Stay

Our small school group stayed here over a weekend and it was amazing. The lodge was large enough that everyone had space, but not so large that they felt overwhelmed. The rooms were gorgeous, especially the main room with the fireplace. The owner was fantastic about communicating with us and reassuring us that all our needs would be taken care of. Staying at the Lodge will definitely become an annual event for us.

Great spot for Christmas party

This is the second consecutive year we have held our Christmas party at the lodge. This year we had a catered dinner (caterer recommended by Marilyn) and it was great! We look forward to staying here again.

Beautiful location

The Riverside Lodge is in a beautiful location and close to Port Alberni. It’s atmosphere is like a fishing lodge with not many amenities. It was a wonderful place for our group to gather for a week. With a few updates, it could be a spectacular place.
