This gorgeous, 3 acre property offers something for everyone- half of the land is our beautifully crafted mountain modern log home and level grassy and landscaped areas including shuffleboard, and the other half of the property is forested woodlands with a seasonal creek. The spacious back patio with beautiful treetop views is perfect for relaxing and also offers shuffleboard for family fun. Enjoy stargazing on clear nights. Grassy lawn, gardens, and plenty of room for everyone to roam!
This is our family’s personal part-time home that we are pleased to offer to others when we're not here. The cabin-cozy interiors were inspired by the owner’s time spent living on a Scandinavian island and are a mix of mid-century, rustic, and modern furnishings combined with an eclectic mix of décor including local and Pacific Northwest artwork and decor. Our family loves spending time here and we’ve put a lot of care and attention into the home to make time spent here as relaxing and memorable as possible. We hope our guests will also love it and treat it as their own.
Just one hour from Portland and a short drive across the bridge from Hood River, our location in the Columbia River Gorge is spectacular in all seasons with beautiful plants and flowers in the spring, a huge selection of Gorge outdoor adventures in the summer, gorgeous fall foliage, whitewater rafting, and harvest time "Fruit Loop" touring during the fall season, and snow sports at nearby Mount Hood in the winter. Year-round recreation (great watersports, mountain biking, fishing, whitewater rafting) and some of the best hiking in the Pacific Northwest nearby make this the perfect retreat for those who enjoy outdoor activities year-round.
Quaint downtown White Salmon is just 2 miles away with a nice supermarket and several great dining options and it’s just 5 miles to downtown Hood River, Oregon, with its downtown historic shopping district, great farm-to-table dining and local craft breweries, and award-winning wineries.

The Rental Agreement will be sent electronically after booking and is required to be e-signed and the guest registration form filled out.
1. GUEST COUNT OVER 6? The base rate for the cabin is for up to 6 guests. There is an additional guest fee of $25/nt/person for any additional guests up to 10 guests (8 adults maximum). If any additional guests are later added on to the reservation that would increase the guest count to more than 6, then the additional guest fees will be invoiced to Guest via VRBO.
2. QUIET HOURS and OUTSIDE HOURS ARE FROM 9 PM - 8 AM: This is not a party house. Wildwood Mountain Modern is located in a quiet rural residential area and guests must be aware and respectful of neighboring properties at all times. While all the homes in the area are on large acreage lots, noise carries very easily at night across the rural lots and while our guests may be on vacation, our neighbors are not, therefore outside hours end at 9pm at which time ALL outdoor activities and outside conversations must be brought inside the home. We have lots of seating inside the house that is perfect for group/family hang time after 9 pm plus a super-comfy all-chaise TV area in the loft. Please be sure that ALL the members of your group are aware of the quiet hours and will be able to comply BEFORE booking this property.
3. MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY OF 8: This property has a maximum occupancy of 8 guests. All guests, including any infants/toddlers, must be included in the reservation and any additional guest fees paid.
4. NO PARTIES, EVENTS, OR GROUP GATHERINGS ALLOWED: Use of the property is limited to the REGISTERED GUESTS ONLY. No weddings, bachelor, bachelorette, prom, graduation, pre- or post-wedding gatherings or similar parties. Please make other arrangements for group activities and gatherings at alternate locations.
5. ATTENDING A WEDDING OR RENTING MULTIPLE PROPERTIES? LET US KNOW IF ANY OF THE FOLLOWING APPLY TO YOU:
- Are you getting married or coming to attend a wedding in the Gorge?
- Are you part of a group renting more than 1 property in the Gorge?
- Do you have additional friends or family members staying at another property in the Gorge at the same time?
You must disclose this to us BEFORE booking and receive approval from us to book as we are normally unable to accept reservations from these types of groups.
6. DETACHED STUDIO DISCLOSURES: The main house is 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, the detached studio with full bath is located over the garage, on the 2nd floor and is not connected to the main house. The property can only be rented in its entirety, together with the studio, the studio is never rented separately from the main house. There is no stove or oven in the studio, just a wetbar with refrigerator. No cooking is allowed in the studio.
7. ROAD NOISE: The house is located on a beautiful 3 acre parcel in a rural area with the house situated close to the rural road so there is road noise, including very loud logging trucks.
8. WINTER BOOKINGS- There is ALWAYS the chance that it could be snowing, especially December-March. Please bring an AWD vehicle and be prepared for snowy and icy conditions. Our driveway is a short distance to the county-plowed road, but during heavy snowfall you may be stuck inside until it stops snowing and the driveway is cleared.
9. DEFAULT REMEDIES: This is absolutely not a party house, please respect the rules of the property. Guests are subject to immediate eviction without any refund of their payments and security deposit if any Guest should fail to comply with any of the conditions or obligations of the Rental Agreement and House Rules including, but not limited to the following: 1) Number of occupants, day or night, exceeds the number of registered guests; 2) Any pets are allowed on the Property; 3) Fireworks are set off at the Property; 4) Firearms are discharged; 5) Complaints of noise, loud music, foul language, trespassing, or otherwise disturbing the peace of the neighbors are reported; 6) Noise and disturbance outside the Property after 9pm; 7) There are tents, campers, RVs, or motor homes placed on the Property without prior approval; 8) Any parties, gatherings, or events occur without written permission of Owner/manager; 9) Campfires are started outside of the property’s propane fire pit.

-$150/week mandatory weekly cleaning fee for stays over 10 nights will be added to the quote before the reservation is accepted.
- Absolutely NO SMOKING, including e-cigarettes, or marijuana, inside the house
- No open flames (including candles) or fireworks allowed on the property. The property is located in a high fire danger area. The wood-burning stove may not be used during the area burn ban, May - October.
- For home security, monitoring of snow levels, packages, and animals, and to ensure that occupancy rules are observed, we have 3 security cameras monitoring the exterior located outside the front entry, over the garage facing the driveway, and at the rear of the RV garage. There are no cameras inside the house or on the patio/backyard of the property.
