This condominium complex is located in the heart of Destin. The complex has two pools. There is a main 4300 square foot, Lagoon-style pool with a mushroom fountain that children love, barbecue facilities and fronting with our own dedicated beach along with our second pool having its own beach club with a grill that is very convenient, serving delicious hot dogs, hamburgers, ice cream and a selection of beverages while also serving our beachgoers. The beach club and the main lagoon pool both have rest room facilities. Beach umbrellas and chairs are available at our beach. The beach pool is heated in the colder months.

Directly next door to the beach club pool is one of Destin's most popular restaurants, 'The Back Porch.' Walk on the beach and order your favorite beverage from the Back Porch's 'beach' bar.

This is a non-smoking unit and NO pets are allowed. You must also be at least 25 years of age to rent this unit. We feel confident that once you have stayed in our unit, you will return year after year.

Once you've finished enjoying a day at the beach or one of our TWO POOLS, kick back in our comfy sofas and watch the 58”Vizio Smart TV. Each bedroom also has a TV . There is also an in-house movie theater for seasonal children's programs.

The extra large kitchen gives you plenty of room to move around. Then, enjoy watching the sunset with after dinner drinks from the oversized balcony!

Sterling Shores is located right next Ruth's Chris Steak House, The Back Porch Seafood and Oyster Bar (a Destin favorite) Joe’s and many more. No where else in Destin do you have this type of walking access. Across the street is the Walmart, Hooters

Walk the other way and you are at the Track mini golf, go carts, games and much much more.

Great except one thing

Everything was amazing except one thing. We did not realize we would need to rent chairs/umbrellas in advance for the beach and when we tried to get close to the beach to watch our children in the water, people who had rentals right on the water were NOT welcoming or friendly and just complained the entire time that we couldn’t be in front of them. It was just very hard to watch our kids (ages 6-9) in the water from afar unless we stood in the water the entire time. Sterling shores was the busiest section of the beach as far as chair rentals compared to the other condos on either side of us (rope). Otherwise this was an amazing trip for us and our friends and had a great time. Everything was super close as far as stores and restaurants,etc.

Needs to have better attention

Bed was broke, hide a bed was broke, bed bugs, trash under the couches, stains in the carpet, silver wear was gross, food by the base board, dirty dishes in the cabinets. AGAIN BED BUGS CANT STRESS THIS ENOUGH.

Good location

The location was great however I thought the property was beach front. It was an easy walk but it was misleading. My only complaint about this unit is the beds were absolutely terrible and the pillows weren’t much better.

Needs some Improvements

The basic cleaning in this unit was good. With that being said: Blood stains and other stains on blankets Pull out beds stained kids didn’t sleep on there. We read previous reviews so we brought sleeping bags and other beds. Dryer doesn’t work AC was Great! WiFi strong. Location and everything else was Great. Owner is very friendly responds fast and the cleaning service was nice also. Carpet needs to be cleaned. The Doors were falling off the closet in the kids room. We paid a premium price we were just a bit surprised. The Beach and pool were Awesome.

Location and amenities were great. Actual condo was unsanitary and in poor condition

This was our family's first time to Destin. We were very excited for this trip. My family and I arrived early on our check in day so we explored the great amenities. Restaurants were near and the pools and beach access were exactly what we hoped for in Destin. We text the owner to see if the condo would by chance, be ready early and surprisingly, he confirmed we would be able to access the condo 2 hours early. Upon entering, we noticed it was not in great condition nor very clean. That evening our young son also went to sit on the patio furniture and the bar stool snapped and fell to the ground. The stools were rusted and extremely weathered. We contacted the owner right away and asked if he could supply replacement furniture. He apologized and offered someone to come by the following day (Sunday) to look at it. The maintenance man came back that following Monday to replace the furniture. I also sent the owner pictures of the poor condition of the property. This included, a broken kitchen cabinet door, bubbled/peeling melamine on the kitchen cabinets, cloth shower curtain coated in soap scum, black mold growing on the drywall and baseboard in the hall bath, large carpet stains, excessive crumbs on the carpet, food/drink splattered on bedroom doors, walls, and kitchen cabinet hardware. At 10pm, after driving 10+ hours we were exhausted and ready to sleep. The evening of check-in we opened the pullout beds in the living room and they were gross. One of the mattress protectors had a urine spot along with dirt and crumbs. We went to flip it over and there was a black spot that appeared to be mold. The other mattress was clearly flipped upside down and when looking at the other side there was a large brown stain on it. We immediately closed it and went to Walmart to purchase blow up beds, sheets and pillows. Needless to say, our first trip to Destin, especially the first few days, was extremely disappointing. After contacting the owner and expressing the concerns of cleanliness, not to mention the fact our son could have been seriously injured due to his negligence, he explained rentals are not easy to maintain due to many guests being disrespectful. He did offer house keeping to return, but we had already cleaned it enough to make it habitable and missed enough vacation/family time due to the patio furniture fiasco. We paid a premium to stay in Destin and received an inferior experience w/o an offer of any compensation.

Destin weekend getaway

I really enjoyed our stay. The pool was very nice and it was not overcrowded. The beach was very clean. The only thing I wish it would be different is that our room's microwave was not working but aside from that, the condo was very spacious, in a really good condition, and clean. I would stay here again.

Beachside or poolside oh my what to do???

It was another great trip to the beach this year enjoying this wonderful three-bedroom condo overlooking the pool that we've been in for the past four years is nicer now than it ever has been. The first year we came down here we stayed in one of the higher floors and just didn't really enjoy the Highwinds and the dark sea at night. We found this unit quite by accident one night I was looking on line and ran across this unit I inquired on it and maybe 10 others and my response was immediate the the other 10 I think 2 others replied in a day or so but the other 8 I'm still waiting for a reply. We talked and decided that being right over the pool and being able to talk to the kids at the pool and being able to watch the kids at the pool made us more comfortable with the kids in earshot. Like I said we stayed on a higher floor The previous year and just really didn't enjoy watching the kids at the pool from so far away. This kind of minium is close to everything it's right in the heart of Destin just across the road is a super Walmart in the track amusement part is just across the street within walking distance of the Big Kuhuna this kind of minium is close to everything it's right in the heart of Destin just across the road is a Super Walmart an the Track amusement part is just across the street and is within walking distance of the condo and the Big Kahuna Waterpark is just a few blocks west and it's always fun. We rented some jet skies and went to the sandbar for the first time ever and it was a blast!!! Our dealings with the owner of the condominium have been awesome he's very nice and super easy to work with. By booking with the owner instead of the front desk saved us hundred of dollars. We really treat this as our second home and most likely will continue to come year after year to this home we enjoy so very much!!! So if you're looking for a great place for a family vacation and want to be close to the beach, pool, dining (The Back Porch restaurant is almost on the back porch) then I have to recommend this unit at Sterling Shores and place you got to stay at. There's even a movie theater in the resort.

Very nice

Perfect location right in the center and easy access to everything (Walmart, Water park, "Seafood restraunt right behind the condo". Our unit was very clean and the area was very quite.The beach theme was very cool and the bunk beds with LCD TV's was perfect for the kids. We had a great time and give this place 5 stars.. Perfect place to get away from the stressful everyday routine of life.... :) Oh, the crystal blue water in Destin Fl. is beautiful!
