While we highly encourage you to take a break and enjoy the views (best with coffee), we also offer a small desk and incredible hi-speed internet at 215mbs! Take a zoom call with ease, work for an hour or the day, either way - rest assured you will be able to take care of whatever you need to while you are visiting.

The Rooms
The main level features three separate bedrooms. The master has a king bed and a master bathroom suite with tub and shower. The two additional bedrooms offer queen beds and they share a full bathroom with a tub/shower. The loft features a large playroom with TV viewing area, toys, foosball table, arcade, kitchenette with mini-fridge, and separate bathroom with shower.

Minutes from downtown Buena Vista. Central to everything: white water rafting, hiking, fishing, skiing, snowmobile trips, mountain biking, hunting, boating, swimming, and more. Two hot springs within 15 minutes. Two family-friendly ski areas within an hour and easy access to plenty other ski and snow options!

Only 2 hours and 15 minutes from downtown Denver - two hours and 40 minutes from Denver International Airport. And the best news is you do not have to take Interstate 70 from Denver so you avoid major traffic on the weekends.

Better Than 5 Stars

This very clean and well stocked home is located about 4 miles east of the beautiful "Collegiate Peaks" in the Arkansas River valley. It is situated in a large widespread development of nice homes and is itself a large, spacious home packed with good furniture, rugs, blankets, etc. The view of the mountains is 'priceless'. The hostess was most accomodating and answered many questions for us before our arrival The three main bedrooms are a large king master with ensuite bathroom with shower and two much smaller queen bedrooms sharing a bath, together with an upstairs bunkroom with two stacked bunks (4 single beds). The spacious upstairs has a TV, a foosball game, lounge and bathroom, making a nice place for youngers to play and have fun . The downstairs, with the bedrooms has a large main room with an immense TV, couches and what my wife calls, 'an extraordinary kitchen'. Externally, there is a small deck facing north and a 'backyard' surrounded by a fence facing south and west. This home is obviously used by the owners and is comfortable and easy to live in. Incidentals such as sugar, coffee, spices, books, etc were plentiful. Heat is infloor and a gas fireplace provides additional heat as necessary. We loved this place that is 3 minute drive from "Bewna" and the many sights available within a few minutes drive both north and south as well as the fishing and river running for which this area is famous. We would love to return to this home.

Great Stay!

We visit this area of Colorado often and the listing was new to us, decided to give it a try. The home did not disappoint, it’s bigger inside than one would think, decorated so nicely. A comfortable space to spread out just relax and enjoy! We had everything we needed inside and incredible views outside. Quiet neighborhood, so easy to get to town for anything we needed. Daily visits from several deer were an added bonus!!

Wonderful Stay

We had the best time in this home! It has a kids dream loft/room! So many little hide and seek places and toys galore! The home was perfect for our stay! It had everything we needed! Looking forward to going back!

Wonderful Christmas stay!

For Christmas my family and I wanted a place halfway between our homes to spend the holiday together under one roof. The house was amazing! It very comfortably fit 8 adults and three young kids. As a bonus, the hosts even set up a Christmas tree for us which meant so much for the holiday! The host was very responsive whenever I had questions. We made wonderful meals in the kitchen and played plenty of games and puzzles. The views are stunning—there’s a view out of every angle of the house! We all definitely want to come back and stay again—maybe in the summer so that we can enjoy the patio with the views :)

Beautiful house in amazing area for incredible adventures

Wonderful house and property for families and children. Great second floor area for the kids. Open and large main floor, including patio area met all our needs. Communication with owners was exceedingly prompt and always great. Easy couple minutes to town for anything we needed and neighborhood was quiet and friendly. Definitely hope to return again from Vermont as soon as possible!

Late Spring Vacation

The property was really nice and ready for our kids. Unfortunately, it happen to be a hot week in the mountains and we longed for air conditioning. We actually left a day early due to the hot conditions. The hosts and house are great, but I would recommend staying there during cooler weather, below 75°.

Clean and Homey... Loved our stay!

The Quackenshack was clean, homey, roomy, with great views and wonderful location! It was supplied with anything you may need. Also, great communication with the host. We came for a wedding but if we every need to come back to this area would stay here again. Our family loved this house!

Loved the Quackenshack! The house was perfect--lots of comfortable sleeping space, lots of hanging out, cooking and eating space, and a great fenced area for pets. Everything was easy and smooth and the views were terrific.

Great mountain vacation

Our family had a wonderful holiday vacation at The Quackenshack! The house and surroundings are even more beautiful than the photos. Cute neighborhood with spectacular mountain views. We were close to BV, and not far from Cottonwood and Mt. Princeton hot springs. The house was spectacularly clean and spacious enough for a group. Great setup for families with kids. My daughter loved the upstairs bedroom with bunk beds and toys. If you come in winter, make sure you have snow tires and/or AWD/4WD. Thanks so much for being such great hosts!

Perfect Location

A group of girl friends and I stayed at this house for a couple of days. The host was communicative and organized. The house was perfect for our group and we had more than enough space. Perfectly located - we were able to enjoy the hot springs, hike, and were close to the amazing restaurants in town. We all agreed that we would love to do this annually and would always want this same house. Highly recommend!

We bought this property in Buena Vista because our parents met in BV many years ago and we love the area for family fun, outdoor activities and the friendly town. We escape the city to spend time in Buena Vista with grandparents, brothers and sisters as well as all the cousins! We love sharing our happy place with others and would be glad to host you!
