Attention: Active Wildlife in the Area

Our area of WNC is currently experiencing increased wildlife activity, particularly from bears. While it’s a privilege to share our environment with these magnificent creatures, it’s essential that we all take precautions to ensure our safety and theirs.

Please follow these guidelines:

Secure all food and garbage: Bears are attracted to strong smells. Do not leave food in your car and reattach bungee cords to trash can lids every time.
Be aware of your surroundings: Stay alert, especially during dawn and dusk when wildlife is most active.
Avoid close encounters: If you see a bear or other wildlife, maintain a safe distance and do not approach.
Travel in groups: When possible, hike or explore with others, and make noise to alert animals of your presence. Keep dogs leashed at all times.

Great privacy and beautiful view.

Very nice property. Only one bedroom and bath on first level which made the stairs a challenge for old folks but we would do it again. Everything was spic and span and well organized.

Great cabin! Location, view, cozy

We spent a fun weekend at this cozy cabin. It was great for the price, nothing fancy. Owner was super responsive via VRBO to minor issues. Hot tub was great, loved having a gas stove. Water pressure is not great, but it worked. View is great, location is perfect, close to everything.

Polar express

We had a good visit it was close to the polar express so perfect for our stay. It was hard to find at first but once we did it was easy to get to. When we arrived it was 50 degrees in the house and the fire place would not work. We talked with the property manager who was amazing and very responsive. They said someone would be out the next day to fix it but it never got fixed. The property and house was very pretty but the floors were dirty when we arrived, there were lots of dead lady bugs around and we found hair in our beds the first night. The hot tub was broken so we did not get to use it but they did tell us that verse hand and let us know we could change houses if we needed to. Overall it was a good stay.

Relaxed and rested

Took a weekend away to get away. Was just what I needed. Love the area and have been there many times I knew what to expect from the roads. I was disappointed that the gravel driveway at the top was washed out a bit making it very steep. This is really my only complaint. The place was just as listed and the views were awesome. Very close to Bryson City, hope on the GSM expressway and go to Cherokee or the other way to Fontana Dam. Wonderful area and you won’t be disappointed by a stay here. I’d suggest AWD or 4 WD if your not used to mnt roads.

Great cabin in the mountains!

Overall, had a great time staying at Just Like Beardise. The property was clean, had everything we needed and was situated with a beautiful view of the mountains. If there was one thing that could be improved, was a better situated fire pit. The one on site is around the back of the house with no seating. The dirt road up was a little scary, but completely doable. Make sure to download/print the directions before going, because our Wi-Fi didn’t work once we got up top and we had trouble locating the property. The after hours receptionist was helpful and we found our way. Would definitely reserve again!

Bearadise Christmas

What a fantastic property..the house is phenomonal..we had 7 people and with 3 floors it's easy to not get i Der each other's feet. We stayed over Christmas..when we arrived a Christmas tree was there lit and decorated The temps went below 0 several.nights and we had Christmas snow, in fact it snowed 3 days...couldn't ask for a better Christmas. My onl suggestion would be grab bars on the main. Level shower...we had an i1 year old and she had a little trouble getting in amd out of the shower. The furnace did a great job keeping the main floor and loft warm The basement was cold. The gas logs helped. My suggestion would be a separate heating source for the basement. Overall it's an amazing cabin I am definately going to rent it again.. It has also made me want to look onto buying property amd building a cabin for rental myself. Thank you for everything

Polar Express with family

Very easy to book. The cabin had awesome views and it was an adventure in itself getting to it. My children all live in far away states so I wanted to do something special and the combination of the cabin and Polar Express ride definitely did it.
