We enjoyed our stay and everything was as described. Communication with Christine was excellent and she even gave us some freshly picked cherries from the property that were delicious! Luckily we had a couple warm days and were able to enjoy the pool. We would definitely stay again.
From the cottage feeling like a home away from home to the salt pool right out the back door. It was so refreshing to swim in the pool and hangout with my friend it was a perfect spot to relax away from Phoenix. Thank you for everything and looking forward to visiting again!
I was having construction done and needed to stay out of my house for a week. This was the perfect little getaway. The cottage was clean, comfortable, and I enjoyed relaxing by the pool. Christine was an excellent host and very responsive with whatever questions I had or if I needed something. Thank you for hosting us, Christine!
We LOVED this getaway! Close to everything and the most beautiful flora and fauna tucked away as if it were a Hacienda Hideaway! Thank you for such amazing hospitality, excellent communication, suggestions and your kindness. We appreciate you opening your home to us and the privacy it provided is for our anniversary. Thank you for the Prosecco and water and ice and earlier check in so we could make it to the wedding on time. This was perfect in every way!
My stay was amazing! It was so peaceful and quite! I took my mom for a little getaway for her birthday. Christine is Best and Paco is just adorable. You didn’t see much of them but when you did it was a great time! The pool was super clean and beautiful. There where some ants and moths problem in the bathroom but nothing crazy. Definitely a place I will be visiting again! It was a wonderful stay!
This property is more stunning than in the photos, truly a special place. Though we spent the majority of our time in San Diego for parent's weekend, I would highly recommend making plans to have down time here. The pool and landscaping is lovely and the bungalow so warm and cozy. We've stayed at several places in San Diego and this is by far our favorite and the drive very doable (you can spend more time in traffic in town trying to get from point A to B). Christine left us some delicious fresh eggs too, which we very much enjoyed!

Fell Short of Expectations
The location is excellent--away from traffic, easy to get to, quiet neighborhood overall, and easy to get to hiking, Ramona and wineries. The unit was pretty cold and the wall combo A/C-heater was loud and not the easiest to control temp. There were two cobwebs on the ceiling with current residents, and the tub wouldn't drain. The latter issue turned out to be a fair amount of hair clogging the drain, which my wife fished out with her fingers and left on the tub (we have a photo). There was a stove and on it was a dual hot plate, so not sure if the stove worked or they just wanted to provide options for two more burners--we didn't use either one. They mentioned they had a dog and normally that isn't an issue, but this one barked quite often making it the only loud part of the neighborhood. We bought K-cups for the Keurig, but it doesn't work properly, producing something akin to slightly dirty water. However, there was a coffee machine in the closet, ground coffee, and paper towels to use as filters. The hosts left a few beers in the fridge, which although we didn't partake was quite nice.
Chris was a lovely host and communication was great. The cottage was cozy and private, perfect for a short staycation. It was too cold to enjoy the pool, but the backyard area was lovely to spend some time in.
Our stay here was great. The indoor area was small but it had all you need for a couple people. The outdoor area around the pool was so nice and the perfect spot to hang out. The owner was extremely accommodating and quick to reply to messages.
Chris, and her casita, was perfect for a long weekend. We were there during a heat wave and she was wonderful to have the air conditioning on prior to our arrival. It is true what other reviewers say about the ants… they are everywhere out there which is to be expected in the area. Luckily Chris has some ant spray under the sink which we used along the entrance the first night and never had problems. We also stored food in the cupboard/ closet. Her property is so unique and beautiful. If you are planning on visiting a winery or two, I highly recommend Principe de Tricase.
Just a heads up, if you plan to walk your dog along the road near her house, beware of her neighbor to the north. We were walking our dog, leashed, and he allowed his 3 dogs to run after us into the street barking and riling up our dog. Unfortunately he is a corner lot so they came around again as we turned the corner. Luckily they were scared away by us yelling, but the owner of the dogs will not stop them from running out to you and barking, despite sitting in his chair and watching it all happen. **this is of no fault to Chris or her property, I just wanted to forewarn future guests.**
We rented this place to have a relaxing weekend by a pool, all to ourselves. It did not disappoint! We enjoyed lots of pool time and used the BBQ to make dinner. Kitchen items are a little sparse, but we always make do. Overall this was great and next time we need a break from all the hub-bub, we'll be back.
We had the opportunity to sneak away from the kids for the night and drove out from San Diego mid week. The wineries were all closed but we didn't care as we really just wanted to sit by the pool and make a simple dinner at the casita. Lots of thoughtful touches including the fresh eggs and stocked kitchen.
You are in the back yard of the main house but it still felt very private. The pool was gorgeous, thank you!
Small and quaint in secluded location. Very quiet and cozy with just about everything you need. Beware of ants if food is left out. Shouldn’t be a problem if you leave all food in fridge. Internet not the strongest for pulling media. It’s a great location for privacy and quiet time.
So beautiful and quiet. We loved how close it is to wineries and hiking. Such a friendly area. The bed was a little hard and wifi was a tad spotty but we spent most of our time exploring Ramona. The best winery was Principe di Tricase, so many interesting wines you won't find anywhere else!
Beautiful secluded property close enough to all San Diego has to offer. Excellent responsive host. Pool was outstanding. Clean property but had ants if food was on counter. Remedied by putting all food/snacks in fridge. Will go back to this property exclusively if available on future visits.
We enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Bungalow. Chris was very kind and kept in contact once in while to make sure we had everything we needed. It's literally down the street from great hiking, a beautiful county park and a farmstand for organic produce and fruits. Peaceful and private. After a day exploring, it was nice to enjoy a lunch outside and a dip in the pool. Had a great weekend recharging and renewing. It was the very thing we needed!
