Stayed here with some buddies on our golf trip and had a great time. House was clean / well maintained and a short drive from the courses. Very quiet at night and was a great base camp our trip. Would return
This property was perfect for our visit to see relatives in the area. The property was clean and well stocked for any meals you might want to prepare. We spent all our time away except to sleep and some light breakfast for the kids. The host is prompt for any communication and the check-out process is easy. For golfers, this is within close proximity of various courses in a quiet, well kept neighborhood. Easily slept 6 adults and 3 children 3-10. We had a great stay!
The hosts were very accommodating and a pleasure to work with. Welcome basket was a nice added touch. The listing accurate, the neighborhood is charming, and the house checks all the boxes. We certainly hope the house is available next year when we return to Pinehurst.
This house was the perfect oasis for my recent girls/spa trip! The property is nestled in a quiet, peaceful and safe neighborhood. We enjoyed walks along the lake and spring blossoms. I was surprised by the spaciousness and cleanliness of the home. The house was adequately stocked with towels, blankets and linens. The kitchen had the essentials which we found more than sufficient to prepare our meals. The beds were soo comfortable! In my opinion this is the perfect house for both a group of friends and/or a family visiting the area. The property manager was respectful and communicates in a timely manner. The location is great, as it felt we were only minutes from breweries, boutiques, and the divine Pinehurst Resort Spa. I highly recommend this house for your home away from home in the land of the Pines!
I hesitated to write this; however, the huge roaches that greeted us when we arrived changed my mind. When reported to the owner, he basically said "when it's wet outside it's to be expected".
One plus is the beds are awesome - unfortunately, the house could use some updating and TLC. Not very homey or inviting. Outdated bathrooms, bare walls, etc. The kitchen especially was bare bones - a lot of essentials not provided. The paint on the cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms are chipping, paint in the master shower peeling. It looked like the paint on the trim throughout the house had been redone in a nice white semi-gloss and all the doors were left kind of a dingy flat white. It just looked to me like they did the bare minimum.
The thing that irked me the most was the list of chores for a renter to perform after being charged a HEFTY cleaning fee. On the last day the owner emailed me and told me to be sure to check out the move-out requirements. We were told to run the dishwasher, strip all the beds (but not the mattress pads - which I thought was gross), throw the sheets and towels downstairs into the laundry room and take all the trash out. I haven't had this happen at another VRBO. Had the cleaning fee not been so high - I would have had no issue helping out. One thing to mention is that there was popcorn on the couch when we got there and black grunge along the rim of the hall toilet. It didn't look like it had been cleaned too well prior to us arriving. The two roaches we saw in the basement "bedroom" (which was essentially an alcove with a curtain) were the icing on the cake. After that - no one wanted to sleep in the basement so they used the couch upstairs instead.
Anyway - as a renter, I have gotten 5-star reviews on each VRBO because we really take care when renting. Compared to other rentals we've had in Pinehurst, this one was very bare bones. I didn't like the cleaning (move-in and move-out) and the 2-inch roaches really put us off. Would not stay here again.
We had a great stay - the location of the home is very near to Lake Pinehurst, and I fell in love with the walk along the peninsula during a trip we took last year, so when booking this year I wanted the same location specifically.
The home is comfortable with nice mattresses, plenty of dishes and pots/pans. We (family of four) had more space than we needed, and didn't even make use of the basement hangout area.
Hosts are extremely pleasant and responsive. Great stay.
We fell in love with Pinehurst staying at the Carolina in Sept and came back in November for more golf and decided to be cozier in a home. The house is super clean and fresh with a great kitchen with all the things we needed to cook between going out. Super convenient location just minutes from the Pinehurst resort and the Village. While just the two of us there is a lot of space for a big group and even a pool table fun basement area. Definitely a stay again spot!
