We needed a place to stay without the high cost of Steamboat. The cozy cabin is about 5 min up the hill from Craig town, so it was easy to get supplies, gas, dinner etc. The scenery is rugged but has some nice views. The cabin has a good heater and the bedding is warm—we didn’t even need to run the heat at night, so we slept comfortably. The toaster oven was a nice touch to warm up delicious leftover pizza we got from town. The microwave and Keurig-style coffee maker (with coffee pods provided or bring your own ground coffee) completed the basics for what we needed for a good stay.
We stayed here with our daughter and it fit our needs perfectly! Lovely to be out on a ranch, see some wildlife - and also be close enough to town when needed. Thanks!
We recently attended a fishing tournament in Hayden Colorado. Not a lot of options to stay (unless you want the ski town vibe in steamboat), so was very delighted to come across this listing. The property is beautiful and well taken care of. The property owners live on site, but they are further up the driveway behind a locked gate - only seen rarely so they are not a bother. The cabin is small, but comfortable for two people. The location of the property is on the outskirts of town and easily accessible. We had antelope and deer by our door every day. My only suggestion to make the property perfect would be to add a television to the small wall in the living room/dining area. We come to fish every year so we will definitely be back to this property.
Great place to stay if you don’t need a lot of room. If you need more room and something a little fancier, I recommend renting their basement property. It’s beautiful and has great morning views
This little cabin is perfect for a weekend getaway or hunting adventure. It is a short drive to Craig if you want to eat out, and close to the wilderness as well. We enjoyed watching several antelope and deer roaming the property. It was perfect for our trip. Many thanks to the hosts for the hospitality.
Small cabin but suitable for a couple if you aren't cooking. Bed was fine and towels, linens fine. Just understand this is coal country and the water is naturally, uh, smelly. We took bottled water for drinking. There is a filter on the kitchen tap. Also there is no cooling in the cabin, only a fan. You may not wish to stay in a heat wave. You will enjoy watching the birds and antelope that roam the property. Also a very quiet and rural neighborhood.
