Level of thought and detail was amazing

We had a family weekend of 20 and everyone was comfortable and never felt crowded. I have never seen a more organized house. The house has so much to offer all ages. It was the perfect house for our 88 year old mother. The game room was a hit with the kids and the adults enjoyed the hot tub. We had great weather for the paddle boards and kayaks. The entire property has so much seating outside and inside. The views from the house are incredible. It is rare to see a lot this flat with a great yard at Lake Gaston. Making the reservation and checkin was a breeze. The house was super clean and the furnishing were fresh and of quality (especially the kitchen) The house information was so clearly displayed and supplied, we never had to ask the host any questions. We plan to return again next year.

Everything we hoped for and more

The house was beautiful, clean and comfortable. There was more than enough space for us all to be comfortable and together or alone depending on how each person felt. Almost everything we needed was there and any questions we had the property manager(s) responded quickly. We look forward to coming back.

Best family Christmas vacation ever!!

This house truly had it all. We had the ability to have 15 adults and three small children fit more than comfortably in this house. There was enough room where everyone felt as if they had space when they need it, but the layout also provided great spaces to get everyone together in one area!! we loved all being able to sit at one dining room table for meals. Being able to cook and see the kids in the living room was amazing. Waking up every morning to a lake view was a dream!! There was truly something for every member of the family at this house. Highly recommend! Kudos to the owner for all the work theyā€™ve put in to this house!!

Wonderful stay for a large group!

This was our second family vacation at Carried Away and it is everything we could need! We had 20+ people and had plenty of room with the 10 bedrooms, large dining table, double dishwashers and 3 refrigerators. Being lakefront was perfect for fishing and enjoying the provided paddle boards and kayaks. The game room was a huge hit with all ages, and the hot tub was a nice touch as well. All our communications were professional, and they were quick to respond. I can highly recommend this place for your large group!

Party House!

Build in some time for check out cleaning - especially if you have the whole place occupied. Suffice to say there was lots of booze drunk, full trash in the many bathrooms and a kitchen full of food after our four days of a party of 22!! We had a blast and the vibe and river were perfect. We swam, kayaked, hot tubbed and hung out in the many lounge spaces. The house is well set up and maintained!!

Absolutely perfect lake house

This was our second stay at Carried Away. The house is spacious, very clean, and beautifully furnished. The yard is great for throwing football and family games. The dock at the lake is perfect for fishing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. We loved the rented pontoon and spent very enjoyable time on the lake. Communication with the management is very easy and they are quick to respond to questions. If you are looking for a beautiful spot on the lake with amazing sunsets in a spacious home this is it!

Great property, even better than the pictures!

We have stayed in the property twice and have booked another stay for next year. It is a fabulous house and the Lake Gaston Vacation Homes folks are consummate professionals. I highly recommend Carried Away as a vacation destination.

Great Summer Vacation

My parents were celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary and my brothers and I looked for almost a year to find a house that could handle 3 generations. This was the prefect house! The big dinning room table gave us a great space to eat dinner together and play games when we were done. The pool table, ping pong table and arcade games gave the kids plenty to do when we were not in the lake. The hot tube was enjoyed by all. It was super easy to get to. Food Lion was close enough that when we had to run to the store it didnā€™t feel like a half of day trip. We enjoyed a movie in Roanoke Rapids.

Exceeded all expectations!!

We had a fantastic time at Carried Away on Lake Gaston. We had 20 people over the course of the week traveling in from a variety of locations, and Carried Away accommodated us all perfectly! We spent a ton of time on the lake skiing, tubing, fishing and traveling by boat to several of the lakefront restaurants, all within an easy boat ride. Renting the pontoon boat is an absolute must! The boat house was a favorite hangout as was the downstairs game room and bar where we spent time shooting pool and mixing our favorite drinks at night, watching old movies and playing video games. Views were spectacular, and the kitchen with two refrigerators, two dishwashers and ovens, along with the outdoor grill, was more than enough to prepare a few large scale meals for the group! The property is well maintained, clean and the property owners were a pleasure to deal with. We are grateful to have found this place, and recommend it highly!

Restfull week

What a wonderful place to spend a relaxing week. We love that when you rent the pontoon boat it is already at the property and you leave it there, so you have access to it the entire week. The kitchen is very well equipped and well labeled so you don't have to hunt for what you need. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms and was super clean and ready to enjoy.

Outstanding Week!

This was a magical week and Carried Away played a big part in that. It was my parents 55th anniversary and children and grandchildren flew and drove in from multiple states and time zones. The house was terrific - plenty of communal space, but also private space when people wanted alone time. Great set-up on the dock with the bar and TV, loungers, and extra tie-ups. We had a jet ski on the short side and were able to tie our 24ā€™ OB on the long side of the boathouse (there is a pontoon in the bout house itself). Water is wadable right at shore but deep enough at end of dock that we could leave the outboard motor down in the water. The cove is very quiet and smooth for paddle boarding but only a few hundred yards from main lake for tubing and jetski. Grill and Kitchen also amazing. We have two family members with strict dietary concerns and with two refrigerators and two dishwashers were able to keep everyone safe. Driveway is a little tight for boat trailer but we parked trailer at top of driveway where there is more space. Worked great for Saturday AM departure.

Beautiful Home & Property for Family Vacation!

Great house: plenty of room for our family of 16, ages 19 months to 67 years old! Wonderful kitchen, great room and large dining room table for family meals along with the outdoor dining spaces. Loved the boathouse & deck, highly recommend renting a pontoon boat and jet skis! Adult kids and grandkids loved the basement with billiards and arcade games. Beds were comfortable and all bedrooms were nicely furnished. We brought our dogs and the yard was great for them as well! Another nice touch was the ice machine in the garage! Had a really relaxing and fun week and we're looking forward to returning next year!

Fabulous!!!!

This property was everything i thought it would be, everything was perfect and so organized, i didnā€™t have to contact the owner not once!!! Everything was labeled in the kitchen we didnā€™t have to look for anything there was a guide book that gave us information on what stores were near and what activities we could do!! Beautiful home!

Despite the wet and windy March weather, we had a great time at this beautiful house because there was plenty to do. We especially loved the ping pong table in the garage, as well as the pool table and the electronic games in the basement. When it wasn't raining we pulled out the corn hole game as well. The house is spacious, clean, and comfortable.

Amazing Place!

We had a family gathering here and we could not be more pleased. Everything is ready to go and you will love how comfortable and spacious the whole house is. The double fridge and double dishwashers are a huge help with all of the meals we cooked there because we didnā€™t want to leave. The beds are comfy and the sunsets are amazing. You will not regret a stay at Carried Away.

Great Value

This was a last minute family trip but we were not disappointed with the stay! My family of fourteen (and our golden retriever) had a blast. There was plenty of space to spread out and all the kids got their own room. The back yard was so spacious. Our dog had plenty of room to run full speed. She even jumped in the lake a few times! There was a fire pit outside where we all had sā€™mores and got to visit with each other! The check out instructions were also very straightforward and the hosts were very responsive. I definitely recommend for a large family get together!
