I hesitate to rave about Tom and Sandi’s cottage, lest it become too popular for me to rent again. As a former Maine coast resident, I felt like I had come home. The expansive water views, the sound of the waves and foghorn, the changing light on the water, the very private location, the toe curling Maine water temps: all were the authentic Maine experience. As it was a hot week, some family members wished for AC, but it always cooled down at night and fans were helpful during the day. Getting to the private beach required some rock climbing ability, as recents storms have continually washed away steps. This was not a problem for me (73 with a recent hip replacement) but may deter less agile folks. Other beaches are very close, so this is not a reason to skip this amazing property. I’ve already asked Sandi to pencil me in for next summer. What an amazing find!
Always a comfortable & enjoyable time when we stay at Becky’s Cove. Can’t beat the views. Love the access to water. Hosts are wonderfully gracious. Looking forward to the next visit already.
Sandy was a lovely hostess, quick to respond to our concerns, nothing major. The location is just perfect, beautiful views and very private but convenient to state parks and downtown Portland. Great to have a washer/dryer and kitchen is pretty well equipped. No A/C is a negative although Sandy provided fans which helped a little. We had a wonderful vacation here.
Our time in Maine was perfect. The magnificent view, the comfortable cottage, and family time made this a week to remember! We already have our week booked for next year! ❤️
The loveliness and serenity of this cottage and property can simply not be overstated. The view is spectacular and the hosts are talented landscapers. The cottage has everything your family needs to lounge and cook elaborate meals should you choose. Both bathrooms are upstairs and though the full bath was not pictured in the photos, it is spacious and well appointed. The hosts go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay and see the highlights of the area based on your interests. We found the location very convenient, for example we biked to Portland, Peaks Island (via ferry), Fort Williams and Two Lights and Crescent Beach state parks with relative ease. I can see why guests return to this idyllic location year after year. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
Lovely area. Beautiful outdoor space with great views and sounds of the ocean. The cottage house is warm and welcoming. Perfect place to unwind and enjoy.
The off-road quiet, the spectacular view, the exposure to a churning ocean as well as a calm one, the BEST master bedroom mattress ever, all were great. No bathroom on the first floor made upstairs trips a daytime necessity. The location is very convenient for anything (food, Old Port Portland, beaches, and our family who lives in Portland).
The pictures do not do this property justice. Sandi is such a sweet woman. Wanting nothing but the best for her guests. The cottage is so serine and quiet. Just what we needed. Please if you want a quiet and peaceful place to relax. Rent this. It's well worth it.
Really enjoyed the scenery and surrounding area. Local light houses and eateries were great. House was charming and Sandy and Tom were great hosts. Would recommend it to anyone.
Amazing cottage with breathtaking views (the bedrooms have picture perfect views to wake up to). Perfect getaway spot- 10 mins to Portland, 20ish to Freeport. Owners are super kind and the cottage is stocked with everything you can possibly need. Highly recommend.
We've been renting here for the past 5 summers and have always had the most enjoyable stay. The house has a wonderful ocean view, the area is extremely quiet, and it's only a short drive to Portland. Sandi and Tom are great people. We will continue to come back as long as we are able.

Absolutely beautiful.
There cannot be a better view in all of Maine. This cottage is absolutely lovely, and the view is stunning. The cottage itself is very nice with everything you could possibly need provided. The kitchen is fully stocked if you want to eat in, but that may be hard to do with Portland restaurants so close at hand. The lobster rolls at the Good Table in Cape Elizabeth are fantastic. As for restaurants in Portland, we really enjoyed Paciarino (you can buy the fresh pasta and bring it home), Isa, the Green Elephant, Otto, the Holy Donut, and Mount Desert Ice Cream. Tom and Sandi were great hosts, and we are looking forward to going back next year.

Loved our stay at Becky's Cove
We had a wonderful time at Becky's Cove and loved the property. It was the perfect Maine vacation. Becky's Cove is beautiful with stunning views all around you. We spent most of our time on the adjacent beach which is a short walk from the property. The house was well-stocked and comfortable. We hope to go back next year.

Phenom!!
What a great weekend! The little cottage (not too little) was perfect for us, with 3 bedrooms, 1 with twin beds, and a VERY well-stocked kitchen. Sandi and Tom are very nice folks, very friendly and we immensely enjoyed speaking with them while we were there. They offered us excellent local tips, and the property is unbelievable! My only complaint is that the pictures on the web site do not do this place justice - the cottage and location is superior to the pictures!!
What a great weekend and thanks so much Sandi and Tom. Wish you well!

this house is a bit of "old downeast" with some new twists. very nicely maintained. lots of pine paneling and hardwood floors.Like the houses of yesteryear. isn't that what maine is about?
queen master with 5 windows and a good mattress.
one double and one twin room very nicely appointed.
old fashion big kitchen.brick fireplace sits between the kitchen and living room.
huge dining room easily seats 12 for company. and deck that seats 6 or more.

An unforgettable memory!
If anything, the description understated the beauty and fabulously convenient location of this property. Portland is a 10-minute drive; the IGA is about a mile away, the lobster pound a mere 2 miles at most. The beaches are only about 4 miles away, along with the Lobster Shack (a must see and eat there!).
The property is beautifully kept and landscaped. The owners were extremely responsive to all questions and provided maps, a state park pass, directions, recommendations for restaurants, beauty salons, etc. The internet connection was excellent, but there's no cell service at the house (it's evidently sketchy all over Cape Elizabeth). The owners provided a landline and all continental US calls were included in the rental. In addition, there were plenty of clean, new towels, and the house was well stocked with garbage bags, toilet tissue, paper towels, kleenex and dish detergent. They even provided new beach towels!
I have already recommended this cottage to several friends. We feel the Cape Elizabeth area is far nicer than the more heavily trafficked beaches south of there. We would definitely go back.
About the host
Hosted by Sandi Dunham
Tom, a Maine native, and I, an Arkansas native, were married in 1974 and moved to Maine in 1976. We fell in love with the cottage the first time we saw it and lived there many years. We have two grown children and our first grandchild was born in December, 2016. Tom is a commercial/industrial real estate broker and I am retired.
Why they chose this property
This cottage was built in 1898 by the Robinson family of Cape Elizabeth. It was won in a poker game in 1900 by a man named Thompson. We like it because it is right on the ocean in a very private setting just 6 miles from the Portland Old Port.
