About this property

RURAL COUNTRY HOME, WINERIES, BLUE RIDGE MTNS, PEACEFUL RETREAT

Welcome to Retreat at The Creek, Swan Creek, North Carolina. Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and surrounded by award winning wineries, our home makes for a perfect spot to spend a wonderful vacation. A one hour drive from Charlotte Douglas (CTL) or Greensboro(GSO) Airports and minutes from the interstate makes for easy travel.

However convenient the drive, please keep in mind you are deep in the country and surrounded by cattle, lightning bugs and stars. A dead end road with only local traffic. Feel free to walk or bike freely and enjoy the country life. Totally safe area, the entire neighborhood is either family or friends, be considerate of neighbors. With that being said, there are NO leash laws and dogs run freely and may come for a visit. IF you don't like them, please don't pet them or feed them because they tend to stick around if you do. Sometimes the pastures are fertilized, you will probably hear coyotes at night, and if you're lucky you may even see a stink bug. Welcome to the country and embrace nature at it's finest!

Our home is surrounded by award winning wineries and boasts the perfect location for a relaxing getaway. Enjoy the front porch rockers with a cup of hot coffee crafted from your own coffee bar or throw a steak on the grill and enjoy good home cooking. With that in mind, please note the closest town with restaurants & stores is 10 miles away. There are no Ubers, no Door Dashers.

My son lives here part time, therefore the home is fully furnished with all amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The main floor of the home has a large living and dining room with enough seating for a large group, a kitchen, 1 bathroom, 1 guest bath (with a shower), laundry room, and 2 bedrooms are on the main floor. One bedroom has a king bed and the other a queen.

The basement is finished with a queen bed, large sectional and separate living quarters with a 50" flat screen tv. Great area for kids to play games. There is a split unit providing air and heat, along with a gas log insert.
The basement living quarters does not have any windows for any natural light, nor is there a bathroom there. Both bathrooms are on the main floor of the home.

Optional at your request and for additional charges:
Complete Concierge Service
Should you want your home stocked, trip planned, car services, etc.
ATV Rentals, Horseback Riding, Kayaking, Volleyball, Bikes all available on request and for extra charge.

Holiday/Weekend Get Away

This home is absolutely charming! We were looking for a secluded place for our family to gather for the weekend after Thanksgiving and we found a jewel! The house was extremely neat and clean with everything that you could possibly need and more. Kim, our host, was extremely gracious, accommodating and quick to respond. We would definitely recommend this lovely home to others!

Can't wait to come back!

We stayed here for a quick getaway weekend to celebrate my dad's birthday. It was a quiet, clean, and relaxing place. The house was a quick 7 minute drive to Raffaldini and Laurel Gray. Kim was a great host! The house was decorated for christmas and christmas music was playing when we walked in! She was quick to respond and made sure we had everything we needed. I will definitely stay here again in the near future!

Wonderful house with great views

This house is just as advertised. It was clean and well-stocked. Our family spent Thanksgiving here and we had everything we needed to cook a full meal. There are amazing views of rolling hills and farmland in every direction. Our son loved talking to the cows in the pasture behind the house. Kim was a perfect host and we would definitely stay here again!

About the host

Host profile image
My husband and I have lived here all of our lives. We know this area well and will be a great resource to you if needed.

I am meticulous and a bit of a perfectionist -- just ask my husband. Not to toot my own horn but I am an excellent host.... toot toot. No, but seriously, I travel a lot, pay attention to the details, and I have a 5 star taste. In turn, I serve guests with those sentiments in mind.

Why they chose this property

I grew up here, my son inherited the home from my mother, her name was Susie, i.e... Susie's Corner, the name of the property. The entire neighborhood is family and friends so please be courteous.

What makes this property unique

Miles of country walking or biking on a quiet country road. Coffee Bar with a Keurig and an Espresso maker. Ceiling Fans in each room. Rocking Chairs. Outdoor fire pit. Gas grill.
